Chapter 64 The Night Before the Group Broadcast

Chapter 64 The Night Before the Group Broadcast

Just then, the system dumpling's voice rang out:

"Honey, it's Lin Xingche! He sneaked into the bedroom while you were seeing him off and put these things on the bed!"

Su Jiaojiao: "..."

This guy is really thoughtful.

She walked to the bedside, picked up the white lace dress, and touched the fabric. It felt very nice; it seemed Lin Xingche had put a lot of thought into it.

A smile curved Su Jiaojiao's lips.

Okay, since he put so much effort into it, I'll wear this dress tomorrow.

She put the dress in the closet, then finished washing up and lay down on the bed.

Moonlight streamed in through the window, falling on her face and making her skin appear even whiter and brighter. She closed her eyes, but her mind was already preoccupied with tomorrow's live broadcast.

Is it a "white moonlight" theme?

She wanted to see what she would look like in that dress.

Lost in thought, she drifted off to sleep.

The next morning, the dawn light, like crumpled gold leaf, streamed through the French windows of the lounge, falling on Su Jiaojiao's eyelashes. A light knock on the door, carrying the refreshing scent unique to young people, woke the person in bed.

Su Jiaojiao let out a soft moan, rubbing her sleepy eyes. Her long eyelashes fluttered like butterflies about to take flight. She sat up, her fluffy cherry blossom pink hair cascading over her shoulders, revealing a section of her delicate, snow-white neck, carrying the languid softness of someone just awakened.

The sky outside the window was already bright, the sunlight was incredibly beautiful, and even the air was filled with the faint fragrance of morning mist. Barefoot on the soft carpet, she walked to the door, and as soon as she opened it a crack, she was met with Lin Xingche's bright, captivating eyes.

The boy, dressed in a clean white hoodie and black sweatpants that accentuated his long, straight legs, carried two paper bags bearing the logo of a long-established breakfast shop. The bags wafted with the fresh aroma of steamed buns and the rich, sweet scent of soy milk. Seeing the door open, his eyes lit up, his dimples deepened, and his voice was as sweet as cotton candy:

"Good morning, sister!"

He pushed the breakfast forward, tilting his chin up to look at her. Sunlight fell on the top of his head, gilding it with a soft golden edge.

"I queued for ages to finally get your favorite pork xiaolongbao and hot sweet soy milk, not too hot to drink at all."

Su Jiaojiao's gaze fell on the paper bag, the familiar fragrance lingering in her nostrils. Her heart instantly felt warm, as if it had been bathed in lukewarm water. She curved her lips into a smile, revealing shallow dimples, her voice soft and slightly hoarse from just waking up:

"Thank you, Xingche."

She stepped aside to let Lin Xingche in, then shuffled to the table in her slippers and sat down. Lin Xingche expertly set out the breakfast; the steamed buns were plump and round, their skins as thin as paper. A small bite revealed the delicious broth. Su Jiaojiao ate them in small bites, her cheeks puffed out slightly, like a satisfied little hamster.

Lin Xingche sat opposite her, chopsticks in hand but barely moving, his eyes glued to her, unable to get enough of her. He watched her cherry-pink lips with a little soup on them, watched her fair fingers pinching the xiaolongbao, watched her dimples when she occasionally looked up at him and smiled. The doting affection in his eyes was almost overflowing.

Such moments are quiet and beautiful, like stolen candy.

It was so sweet it made his heart tremble.

"Sister," Lin Xingche suddenly spoke, her voice low.

"We need to practice the dance for the group broadcast this morning, so we have to get to the dance studio early."

Su Jiaojiao swallowed the soy milk in her mouth, nodded, and said in a soft, sweet voice:

"Okay, let's go after we eat."

She got up and went back to her bedroom to change. She had dance practice today, so she needed to wear clothes that allowed for easy movement. She chose a white cropped cardigan paired with high-waisted black athletic shorts, revealing her slender waist and long, straight, white legs.

Her long, cherry blossom pink hair was tied into a high ponytail, with wisps of hair framing her delicate features. She looked energetic and exuded a sweet, gentle charm.

When Lin Xingche came out after changing his clothes, his eyes lit up again.

"Sister, you're so beautiful," he blurted out, his cheeks flushing slightly.

Su Jiaojiao was amused by him, tiptoed, and ruffled his hair:

"Alright, stop joking around, let's go, let's go!"

The dance studio was on the third floor of the company building. It was spacious and bright, with smooth solid wood floors and huge mirrors embedded in the walls. A speaker and yoga mats were placed in the corner. When the two arrived, several live streamers were already warming up inside; they were all Su Yue's apprentices.

Manny and Haoyu are long gone. Because they framed Su Jiaojiao, they are now universally reviled in the industry, reaping what they sowed.

Of the remaining people, Yating was the most conspicuous.

She was dressed in a designer tracksuit, her hair neatly combed, adjusting her collar in front of the mirror. When she saw Su Jiaojiao and Lin Xingche enter, her eyes lit up, a fleeting hint of jealousy flashing across them before quickly replaced by a warm smile.

She strode forward, her tone incredibly warm and friendly:

"Jiaojiao, Xingche, you're here! The sun is shining so brightly today. You look so good in this outfit; it makes your legs look so long!"

Su Jiaojiao glanced at her, said nothing, but simply smiled faintly. Then, she took Lin Xingche's hand and walked straight to the mirror to warm up.

She saw right through Yating's intentions—she just wanted to gain some traffic and attention by interacting with her. But Su Jiaojiao hated these kinds of sycophants the most. Besides, she remembered that Yating and Manny had talked badly about her behind her back, trying to affect her live stream.
