Chapter 1602 Today's audience is obviously not good enough

A group of players broke through the paper wall and rushed to the field. There was cheering when they entered the field, but it was not even as loud as the usual training games. The cheerleaders standing on both sides were waving colorful balloons in their hands, but their eyes were not on the players but looking in another direction. Fall almost fell to his knees when he followed their gaze - Damn, there are really people barbecuing here!

Uh, taking a closer look, it turned out to be Xiao Peng and his group grilling! Are you really not afraid of getting beaten up just for grilling here? Is this something a human could do?

For decided to... run away and pretend not to know them!

"Foley! Come on!" Xiao Peng saw Foley waving and greeting him!

Fore knelt...

There's a lot that goes on before a football game, like the cheerleaders performing, the home players circling the field to greet the visitors, and the mascots bringing the atmosphere to life—and these aren't the bull demons or the troublesome Salukis, but rather real people in costumes. Juliet used to do this at the amusement park, too!

These "mascots" are responsible for creating the atmosphere, performing all kinds of funny somersaults, splits, teasing the cheerleaders and opposing players, etc.

Normally, the liveliest moment of the evening is when the mascots begin their performances, but today even the mascot actors were completely bewildered – the audience today was clearly not up to par!

In fact, it is not really the fault of this group of spectators. Now almost everyone in the stadium is confused: they are drinking beer and eating hot dogs in the stands, which is just basic watching of the game and is not surprising, but I have never seen anyone eating and drinking so blatantly in a rugby stadium!

Everyone was curious, who the hell were these people? Was this some kind of performance organized by the school?

Just when everyone was confused, a man in a suit and with silver hair walked to the center of the court with a microphone. When the audience saw him, there was warm applause - it was Gregory L. Fenves, the president of the University of Texas at Austin.

Why is college football more popular here than professional football? It's because college football fans are essentially alumni of the same school. Every NCAA football game is essentially a large alumni gathering. And as the president of the University of Texas at Austin, President Fenves holds a high reputation for his many years at the university.

But everyone was also curious about why he was here.

The University of Texas has eight campuses, and Austin's football program has always been a leader, largely because Fenves is willing to spend money on football—just look at this huge stadium! But he rarely comes to this stadium to watch games, so why is he here today?

Seeing Fenves walk to the center of the court, Vincent wiped his mouth with a tissue. "Well, it seems like it's our turn to play. Xiao, how about we make a bet?"

"What are you betting on?" Xiao Peng asked.

Vincent asked, "Who do you think he will introduce first?"

They both knew that Fenves would definitely call both of them to the court and have them serve as the opening pitchers. This was agreed upon before they arrived, but they didn't know who Fenves would introduce first.

'Big brands should take a back seat' is basically a consensus around the world.

Xiao Peng said directly: "I will definitely introduce me first."

This wasn't just a compliment from Xiao Peng: Vincent's fame in Texas was far greater than Xiao Peng had imagined. Plus, he was a long-established billionaire here, so his fame was definitely much higher than Xiao Peng's! If it weren't for the big incident Xiao Peng had caused in Houston some time ago, he might not even have been invited here.

Vincent replied, "I originally thought I was definitely behind, but seeing that kick you just now and the way you were barbecuing, I think you should be behind me! Besides, I can put the blame on you for this 'barbecue at the football field' incident. I can't take the blame for such a shameless thing!"

Xiao Peng rolled his eyes at him: "What are you betting on?"

Vincent smirked and said, "If I win, you have to cooperate with me when you go to the WWE show! Don't worry, you don't have to memorize lines or anything, just follow me around."

Xiao Peng curled his lips and said, "Alright, I'll make a bet with you! Whether in terms of fame or age, you should be much older than me. There's no way I'm going to come on later! Don't you guys respect the elderly and love the young here?"

After he finished speaking, he took a sip of beer and looked at Fenves who was speaking. "No, you people here still know how to respect the elderly and love the young. Otherwise, I think Principal Fenves would be beaten to death!"

Xiao Peng said this because Fenves had been rambling on for a long time, going on about this and that, talking about their school's academic progress and recent honors, but never mentioning their football. Was he just bragging about his school for no reason? We were all here to watch the game, not listen to your nonsense!

Fenves didn't care what Xiao Peng thought. This was a great opportunity to promote the school, so how could he miss it? The audience, however, was very respectful. Whenever Fenves mentioned an honor related to their school, the whole place erupted in thunderous cheers.

Well, we are all graduates of this school, so we should be proud of it!

But it wasn't long before the audience started to get annoyed - their school had achieved too many achievements!

When it comes to prestigious American universities, the first thing that comes to mind is the Ivy League, a sports league comprised of eight private schools. While it's primarily a sports league, it's renowned for its exceptional academic quality. Harvard, Yale, and the University of Pennsylvania are examples of world-renowned institutions within the Ivy League. Private universities are generally considered higher quality than public ones.

But this is not absolute.

Some public universities are known as "Public Ivy League" schools, with faculty and teaching standards comparable to those of the Ivy League. The University of Texas at Austin is one of these institutions.

This university has produced 12 Nobel Prize winners, 18 Pulitzer Prize winners, two Turing Award winners, and 94 National Science Foundation recipients. There are even more members of the National Law Society, the National Institute of Physics, the National Academy of Sciences, the National Academy of Arts and Sciences, and the National Academy of Engineering! Even more impressive is that this university is both civil and military, having been named the nation's best sports university. 144 Olympic medalists have graduated from this university! With so many honors, even hearing new ones doesn't excite me as much anymore...

Finally, Fenves finished his speech and put the manuscript back into his pocket. Just when the audience thought the competition was finally about to begin, Fenves picked up the microphone again: "Well, I have a few more words to say."

Not to mention the audience, Xiao Peng almost couldn't help but throw the bottle of wine in his hand at his head after hearing it!

Are you done yet?
