Chapter 1724 Something is happening ahead
"How could there be people in this damn place?" This time, the one who complained was not Ekaterina but Xiao Peng.
Kasim had lived here and knew the situation. When he saw the snow trail, he drove the car onto the river. Here, the sports car was much faster than on the road.
After running for a while, they found a car parked in the middle of the river. Although there was snow on the car, it was not thick.
"This doesn't look like a zombie car!" Kasin said, "Otherwise the snow wouldn't be so thick."
Xiao Peng hummed and said, "Let's go down and take a look. Is there anyone pitifully freezing to death?"
Finally, Kasim said with a smile: "Boss, let's make a bet first."
"What are you betting on?" Xiao Peng asked back.
Kasin said, "Let's bet on whether there's anyone in the car. I bet there's no one in the car."
"Huh?" Xiao Peng asked curiously, "How do you know there's no one in the car?"
Kasim smiled and said, "Let's go down and see if I'm right."
Xiao Peng opened the car door, got out and walked to the front of the car, and found that Kasim was right, there was really no one in the car.
"Kasim, how did you know?" Xiao Peng asked curiously.
"If there's someone inside the car, the temperature is different from outside," Kashin explained. "If there's someone inside the car, there should be a layer of ice on the surface, and then there should be snow."
Xiao Peng suddenly realized: "Oh, so that's how it is."
Kasin said, "But this car hasn't been abandoned for long, less than four hours."
"How do you know?" Xiao Peng asked curiously.
Kasim pointed into the car and said, "Look, the curry inside isn't completely frozen yet."
Xiao Peng said helplessly: "Is the curry here in Russia even edible?"
He had eaten the curry here at the "Opening Day" restaurant. Xiao Peng guessed that if the Indians knew that the Russians called this thing curry, they would fight them to the death.
Kashin spread his hands and said, "For most Russians, anything with vodka is delicious."
Xiao Peng gave a thumbs-up and suddenly remembered something: "Shit, didn't the car break down and the people inside decided to get out to ask for help? They'd really freeze to death if they went out in this weather."
Kasin ran to their car, grabbed the door, adjusted the searchlight, looked around, and said, "Boss, don't worry."
"How do you know?" Xiao Peng asked.
Kasin said, "Look at the tracks on the ground. There were probably two people in this car, and then another car came, with two more people. They stayed here for a long time before getting in a car and leaving. Look, there are tire tracks here. Even though they're covered by the snow, you can still see them if you look closely."
After he got down, he tested the snow in the tire tracks: "Left less than an hour ago!"
Xiao Peng smiled and said, "See, you're still professional. If you weren't here, I might have already started running around busy saving people."
Kaxin sighed, "Boss, look, you still don't say you are a good person? Your first reaction after you knew about this was to save people."
Xiao Peng waved his hand and said, "I still say the same thing. I don't know whether I am a good person or a bad person. I just do what I think I should do. Hurry up and get in the car. It's really a bit cold!"
Kasin laughed and said, "You didn't even wear a coat when you got out of the car. How could you not be cold?"
The two set off again, this time with Kashin driving.
"Whoever is in this car? They must have been kissed by God!" Kasim exclaimed.
"What do you mean?" Xiao Peng took out the coffee pot and drank some hot coffee to warm himself up.
Kasin explained, "Boss, every year in Siberia, people freeze to death in car accidents. Most of them freeze to death because no one rescues them—and I'm talking about cars on the highway! Think about it! This isn't a highway. You might spend months in a place like this without anyone passing by. And look at these cars? We encountered two within an hour. They're like they were kissed by God, aren't they?"
After Xiao Peng put the coffee pot back, he said, "They should be thanking the Nenets people. If I'm not mistaken, they're all going to the reindeer festival."
Kasim nodded: "Well, that should be the case. But who would take such a path?"
"Who cares! As long as my life is saved, that's all that matters." Xiao Peng put the chair down and said, "I regret renting this car!"
Kasin was stunned after hearing this: "What's wrong, boss? This car is so reliable to drive. The safety factor is super high! I wouldn't even want a Hummer in this environment!"
Xiao Peng shook his head and said, "This car is so boring! It doesn't even have a stereo! I can't even listen to music!"
Kasim laughed and said, "Military vehicles all look like this. Aren't those Hummers we have at home all like this?"
Xiao Peng sighed and said, "That's why I don't want to ride in the Hummer at home. Remember to remind me when you go back and ask Walter to install better audio equipment in all the Hummers at home."
"Okay!" Kasim said.
Xiao Peng asked, "Are you hungry?"
After hearing this, Kasim said, "I'm really a little hungry."
Xiao Peng climbed from the seat to the back of the vehicle, where he found a car heater, a square water tank that could be used to heat water for making coffee. This was essential equipment for Russian military vehicles operating in the polar regions.
It's incredibly cold here in Siberia, and people here go to great lengths to keep their cars warm. Xiao Peng has actually seen people put a stove in their car and throw coal briquettes into it while driving. And hot water is incredibly important when out in the open. Although Xiao Peng and his friends had a car heater, he still prepared several pots of hot coffee, just in case.
In such cold temperatures, a cup of hot coffee can sometimes be a lifesaver!
Soldiers are also human beings, and Russians also know what it’s cold!
But they were not the first to do this; they learned it from the British.
Even though the British have more tanks than they have generals, each of their tanks has a special car heater just for making afternoon tea - and they have car heaters in their cars to make tea in order to improve their combat effectiveness!
This is no joke. In World War II, the German tank ace 'Tank God' Wittmann drove a tank single-handedly into the village of Bocage where the British 22nd Armored Brigade was stationed, and destroyed fourteen tanks, fifteen military vehicles and two anti-tank guns in just fifteen minutes!
The entire British military was stunned at the time. No matter how powerful Wittmann was, it was impossible for him to destroy so many tanks and vehicles within fifteen minutes!
To put it bluntly, it was difficult to catch so many pigs in 15 minutes, so the UK began to investigate the matter. In the end, they found...
It was tea time, and the British tank soldiers went outside the vehicle to make tea.
In order to prevent such things from happening again, the British developed a heater that uses the auxiliary power supply on the tank so that tank soldiers can drink tea while sitting in the tank!
Compared to them, Russian men are still a bit rough.
Xiao Peng was still busy boiling water and cooking instant noodles when Ka Xin suddenly said, "Boss, there's something going on up ahead!"
