Chapter 731: Don't Advise People to Be Tolerant

Chapter 731: Don't Advise People to Be Tolerant

Sweden has seen an increasing number of violent crimes in recent years. For example, on November 20, 2017, four cities simultaneously experienced violent incidents: in Stockholm, someone opened fire on a crowd with a machine gun; in Malmö, a residential building was attacked with a grenade; and in two other cities, two separate gang rapes occurred simultaneously. There was even a case of a disabled girl in a wheelchair who was raped by six men after using the restroom in a refugee camp.

Even so, the Swedish government deliberately conceals data on refugee crimes to prevent discrimination against them. Even if a criminal is caught, their identity and name cannot be revealed, and their photos are completely blurred, because of the "no racial discrimination" principle.

What else can Xiao Peng say? Just be happy.

But now Xiao Peng really feels uncomfortable.

It turned out that these things happened in news reports, but he didn't expect that this incident would actually happen to him, especially when he recalled the time he and Tilti spent together in Germany. Although the two had not known each other for a long time, it was really a very beautiful memory. The two of them were not bothered by money or social status, but simply appreciated each other. As a result, such a tragedy happened to Tilti. It would be a lie for Xiao Peng to say that he didn't feel sad.

"Where is the criminal?" Xiao Peng asked with a gloomy face.

Sommeret smiled bitterly and said, "Of course they were all sent to prison. But it's too late to do anything about it now."

Xiao Peng remained silent. He noticed that Somolet used the word "all". He didn't dare to imagine what Tilti had experienced.

Victoria gritted her teeth and said, "They will receive the punishment they deserve in prison!"

Although the situation was extremely inappropriate, Xiao Peng almost laughed out loud. A Swedish prison? Forget it!

I still remember that a few years ago, Chinese Internet intellectuals were desperately promoting the idea that prison life in Sweden was very good, and that the crime rate was extremely low, and that four prisons had even been closed, making people extremely envious of life in Sweden.

But as we all know, if you believe what the "public intellectuals" say, you will be sold out without knowing how you were sold.

Did Sweden close four prisons? More than four, in fact, many were closed. But this doesn't mean Sweden has a low crime rate; rather, it means it's rising.

Sweden's original prisons were small, but with rising crime rates, they've become obsolete. They're now demolishing small prisons on a large scale and replacing them with larger ones. Currently, there are fewer than 300 detention centers and prisons, large and small, across Sweden. Sweden is initially planning to demolish these small prisons and replace them with larger ones. How many will be built? The initial plan is to build 1,100!

Even more interesting is this: some public intellectuals claim that Swedish prisons are meant to "reform neighbors." They claim that while they may face punishment for their wrongdoings, they also have human rights and should be respected, even in prison. They also claim that prison guards have extremely high requirements, requiring them to understand "legal, ethical, criminological, reintegration, and social work regulations" in order to better serve prisoners. It makes it seem like prison is like a vacation for inmates.

Is there anyone who believes such nonsense?

If this is true, Sweden would definitely have the highest crime rate in the world!

Are there such things as "luxury prisons"? Yes, they do! Back when Paris Hilton was in prison, she was even offered spa treatments and manicures. Are such services available to everyone? But is that something that ordinary people can enjoy?

Rapper A&AP Rocky was arrested for fighting in Sweden. The prison he was held in was a true reflection of Swedish prisons: sanitation was abysmal, the food and water were unfit for human consumption, Rocky was limited to an apple a day, and slept on a yoga mat without even a blanket. (Of course, there was also a touch of Rocky playing the victim.)

In comparison, the report made by the Chinese police after their exchange and study trip to Sweden is the most illustrative: There are solitary confinement rooms in countries such as Sweden and Norway, which are specifically used to deal with troublesome prisoners: the room is about ten square meters, with a bed, a table, a TV and some magazines.

Sounds pretty humane, right? But prisoners are strapped to their single beds with specially made straps, unable to even move a finger. They stay there for days, eating, drinking, defecating, and urinating on the bed...

Do you expect the descendants of the pirates behind you to be polite to the prisoners? Is that even possible?

But this also depends on the individual. You make Rocky feel that life there is extremely hard and he can't even eat the food, but for those refugees, it's just a drizzle. They have endured all kinds of hardships along the way. In comparison, prison has food, water, clothes, and is not cold or hungry. It's simply heaven!

This is one reason they're not afraid of committing crimes. And there's another point: Sweden has very low sentencing. Serious crimes that would otherwise result in death or life imprisonment in other countries could be punished by up to 15 years in Sweden. Criminals like Tilty experienced could be released after just a few years. How can they receive the punishment they deserve?

Somolet's next words resolved Xiao Peng's doubts. He gritted his teeth and said, "That's my daughter! Do you really think hiding in prison will solve the problem? I will make them regret their actions as long as they live! As a father, I wish I could strangle them to death with my own hands! But believe me, I have at least ten thousand ways to make their lives worse than death! I will make them experience all the pain in the world before they die!"

Xiao Peng did not respond to this. He believed that Somolet was absolutely capable of doing everything he said, and what he did would definitely be even more cruel than what he said.

But he doesn't want to be a saint.

People should have empathy. What would Xiao Peng do if this happened to him? Being a saint is easy, and so is teaching others to forgive. But ultimately, the decision is made by others. Indiscriminately advising others to be "tolerant" is like stabbing them in the back.

Sommeret continued, "This incident caused great distress to Tilti. From then on, she called herself 'Yasmine' and didn't even recognize me or her mother."

"Have you taken her to see a doctor?" Xiao Peng asked, "This situation is probably a mental illness. She should see a psychiatrist."

Sommeret nodded and said, "Of course I have seen it. The doctor said it was a symptom caused by too much stimulation and self-escape. Now this..."

"So you're just going to leave her alone and let her run around?" Xiao Peng frowned and asked, "You've completely given up on her and you won't even give her a bodyguard?"

You know, he and Tildy reunited on Billy's yacht! At that time, Tildy was working as a DJ on Billy's boat. If she hadn't had something in common with Felix, who knows where she would be now!

I have to say that the Sommeret couple are so irresponsible!
