Then Yuan Zhexian's lips curled up slightly, revealing a warm smile, and he asked softly, "Why does everyone call you Tiger? Don't you even have a proper name?"
"Also, is it just you and your grandfather living here? Where are your parents?"
As soon as he finished speaking, Tiger's face, which had been beaming with an innocent smile, suddenly dimmed as if the sun had been obscured by dark clouds.
Immediately afterwards, his eyes gradually reddened, tears welled up in them, and his voice became low and sorrowful.
"I...I don't have a name that truly belongs to me."
"My parents have been dead since I can remember."
"It was the village chief who kindly took me in and raised me to adulthood."
"Because I was a very greedy child, I ate much more than other children, just like a little tiger cub, so everyone called me Tiger."
Upon hearing this, Yuan Zhexian's heart skipped a beat. He had never expected that such a seemingly lively and cheerful child would have such a tragic past.
For a moment, he was at a loss and stood there stunned.
After a long while, he finally came to his senses and said to Hu Zi with a face full of guilt, "I'm so sorry, Hu Zi! I didn't expect that my casual question would remind you of these sad memories."
Tiger quickly shook his head, forcing back his tears, and replied with feigned strength, "It's okay, big brother. You can rest here and recover. I'll come back later to bring you some good food."
After saying that, he turned and walked towards the door.
Yuan Zhexian watched Hu Zi's departing figure quietly until he completely disappeared outside the door before turning his gaze away and beginning to carefully examine his own physical condition.
He slowly sat down cross-legged, adjusted his breathing, gently closed his eyes, and entered a state similar to meditation.
After a long while, he slowly opened his eyes, his gaze somewhat dazed and weary. Then, he muttered to himself, "I never imagined the power of that spatial rift would be so terrifying!"
"Now, the power of the Great Emperor has completely disappeared from my body, and even the Eternal Immortal Scripture can no longer function properly."
He frowned, pondering to himself how to deal with the predicament before him.
"It seems this injury is quite serious and will require a lot of time and careful recuperation."
"Fortunately, I still have some magical power left in my body,"
"But... now that I'm in this unfamiliar cultivation world, I really don't know when I'll have the chance to return to the familiar Nine Heavens and Ten Earths."
"Oh well, since we're here, we might as well make the best of it and see how things go."
Thinking of this, he couldn't help but shake his head helplessly.
Just then, he looked down and saw that his once snow-white clothes were now soaked in blood, and the blood had dried and congealed on them.
Upon closer inspection, his body was covered with numerous large and small, crisscrossing wounds, clearly caused by the relentless cutting from those incredibly sharp spatial wind blades when he was trapped in the spatial rift.
He endured the pain and struggled to his feet, his gaze sweeping over a bucket placed behind a thatched hut not far away.
After a moment's hesitation, Yuan Zhexian sighed softly, "Very well, when in Rome, do as the Romans do."
So he dragged his heavy steps to the bucket, bent down and began to wash the blood and dust off his body.
After washing up, Yuan Zhexian felt a little better.
He tidied his slightly disheveled hair and stepped out of the simple thatched hut.
Standing outside, he looked around and found that it was a peaceful and tranquil little village.
The village is located right next to the turbulent coastline, surrounded by green mountains, and has a pleasant landscape.
The villagers have made a living by fishing and hunting for generations. They are simple and honest, and treat outsiders with great enthusiasm and friendliness.
After all, the village is not large and has a small population, so everyone knows each other very well.
So when they rescued a young man, the news spread throughout the village almost instantly.
At this moment, Yuan Zhexian slowly walked out of the house. He was tall and handsome, like an immortal descending to earth.
When the villagers saw him, they greeted him warmly.
"Hey buddy, you're finally awake! How are you feeling? Is anything bothering you?"
A voice came from inside; it was a kind-looking middle-aged man. He looked at Yuan Zhexian with a smile on his face, his eyes showing concern.
Immediately afterward, another villager who looked like a middle-aged man came forward. Upon seeing Yuan Zhexian, he immediately joked, "Oh my, young man, you are simply too handsome!"
“My family has a beautiful daughter who is exactly eighteen years old this year, and she is in the prime of her youth.”
"If you find her attractive, how about you marry her to you? Haha!"
Upon hearing this, an older woman nearby couldn't help but laugh and scold, "You shameless fellow! That young man has just woken up, and you're already spouting nonsense like this. Don't scare him away!"
After saying that, she turned her head and smiled kindly at Yuan Zhexian, "Young man, please don't mind. We country folk are just like that, straightforward and outspoken."
"By the way, my husband went to the woods behind the house to gather herbs early this morning. I'll go back later and see if there are any herbs that might be suitable for you."
"If I have any, I'll definitely send it to you."
Faced with these kind, simple, and hospitable villagers, Yuan Zhexian felt a surge of warmth in his heart.
