With all seven sages of the primordial world present, a solemn and dignified atmosphere permeated the entire Zixiao Palace.
Just then, the Heavenly Dao finally spoke in its extremely cold tone: "In the next great eon, the West will rise and Buddhism will spread eastward."
Although his voice was not loud, it resonated in everyone's ears, as if it were a divine decree from the heavens.
"As for who exactly to send, you can discuss and decide that yourselves."
"After reaching an agreement, we will place the fates of those people into this object."
As he spoke, Tiandao waved his hand, and a disc-shaped object appeared in mid-air before falling into Jieyin's hand.
Then Heavenly Dao continued, "I have one more requirement: the cultivation level of those who are chosen must not exceed that of a Quasi-Saint."
He paused for a moment, then added, "Furthermore, if necessary during the journey west, I hope that your disciples in your respective sects will do some favors."
Upon hearing this, the seven sages bowed and replied, "We will obey the command of our teacher (the Dao Ancestor)."
Upon hearing this, the Heavenly Dao immediately said, "In that case, you may go down and discuss the five people who are going west."
Then he closed his eyes and ignored everyone, seemingly entrusting the matter entirely to the seven sages.
Upon seeing this, the seven sages dared not be negligent in the slightest. They immediately bowed to the Heavenly Dao and then withdrew from Zixiao Palace.
As everyone stepped out of the gates of Zixiao Palace, Yuan Zhexian's lips curled up slightly, revealing a barely perceptible smile.
His gaze fell on the other sages, and then he slowly suggested, "Fellow Daoists, this is not the place for discussion."
"Why don't we go to my Penglai Immortal Island together to discuss this!"
"Furthermore, since I established Penglai as my Daoist temple, none of you fellow Daoists have visited it yet. What do you all think?"
As soon as he finished speaking, Yuanshi, Yuantong, and Laozi exchanged a glance, seemingly already understanding each other perfectly.
Without hesitation, they bowed to Yuan Zhexian and said in unison, "That's wonderful, then we'll have to trouble you, fellow Daoist."
Seeing this, Yuan Zhexian knew the three's intentions; they clearly did not want to give Nuwa, Jieyin, and Zhunti any chance to refute him.
Nuwa, Jieyin, and Zhunti, though somewhat reluctant, could not directly refuse, since Yuan Zhexian's suggestion was not unreasonable.
So they had no choice but to nod in agreement and head to Penglai Island together.
All of this was actually within Yuan Zhexian's expectations. His choice to discuss things on Penglai Immortal Island naturally had its own profound meaning.
Penglai Immortal Island is a sacred place, rich in spiritual energy and with a tranquil environment, making it an excellent place for discussions.
More importantly, Yuan Zhexian possesses a treasure—the Hongmeng Pearl. This pearl can shield the secrets of heaven, ensuring that the discussions among the group on the island will not be known to the outside world.
Even the Heavenly Dao finds it difficult to fathom its secrets.
And so, led by Yuan Zhexian, the group embarked on their journey to Penglai Immortal Island.
Meanwhile, on Penglai Island, Xiao Jiu, Kong Xuan, Zhao Gongming, Jinling Shengmu, and the Three Immortals were sitting around a stove, brewing fragrant tea and chatting happily.
Their conversations ranged from spiritual practices to strange tales of the world, and the atmosphere was very harmonious.
Suddenly, an indescribable, terrifying pressure swept in from afar like a raging storm.
This oppressive force was like Mount Tai pressing down, making people feel an unbearable heaviness and pressure.
Everyone present instantly felt this terrifying power. Their faces turned deathly pale, as if an invisible force had choked them, making it difficult to breathe, and their bodies trembled involuntarily.
However, at this terrifying moment, everyone's eyes fell on one person in unison—Yuan Zhexian.
However, a moment later, everyone's attention was drawn to another scene.
In addition to Yuan Zhexian, six other sages also descended upon Penglai Immortal Island.
The appearance of these six sages was as dazzling as the stars in the night sky, so bright that people dared not look directly at them.
Upon seeing this, the crowd did not hesitate at all, immediately rose, knelt down, kowtowed and paid their respects, shouting, "Greetings to all the saints (teachers) (masters)!"
"May all the saints (teachers) (masters) live a long and prosperous life."
Seeing this, Yuan Zhexian smiled slightly, gently waved his sleeve, and a gentle magical power, like a spring breeze, helped everyone up.
He began by saying, "I have important matters to discuss with you sages."
"Do not disturb during this period!"
Although the sound was not loud, it resonated in everyone's ears like a great bell.
Upon hearing this, everyone cupped their hands in greeting to indicate that they understood.
Afterwards, the sages followed Yuan Zhexian into the cave.
Upon entering the cave, Laozi looked around and exclaimed, "What a wonderful natural paradise!"
"The spiritual energy here is abundant and magnificent, and the Taoist charm is so profound that it is intoxicating."
The other sages nodded in agreement when they heard Lao Tzu's words.
Yuan Zhexian, however, was extremely humble. He smiled and said, "My humble abode is nothing but a humble abode. It is really hard to compare with your temples."
Then, his expression suddenly turned serious, and he said in a deep voice, "In that case, let's start discussing the westward journey."
After speaking, Yuan Zhexian gently waved his arm, and six snow-white clouds streaked across the sky like shooting stars, instantly appearing beneath their feet.
