Chapter 108, Frankness

Chapter 108, Frankness

Zhang Youyou greeted her roommate, said a few words to Meng Xiao, and then got into the car with Li Donghao. The car sped away, and Meng Xiao watched the black sedan disappear into the traffic in silence.

The two people in the car remained silent.

Lee Dong-ho glanced at her; she was just leaning back in her seat, looking out the window. Lee Dong-ho pursed his lips and finally asked, "Are you full? Want some late-night snacks?"

"No need, I'm full."

"But I'm still hungry, will you eat something with me?"

Zhang Youyou looked at him irritably and said, "If you have other plans, I'm going back to school."

Li Donghao was speechless and had no choice but to take her home.

When he got home, he wanted to explain what happened that day, but she went straight to her room without giving him a chance to speak. Li Donghao had no choice but to let her be.

Zhang Youyou wasn't feeling much better after closing the door. She nervously stood with her back to the door, listening intently. She only breathed a sigh of relief when she was sure he wasn't coming over. She sat on the edge of the bed, feeling down.

Actually, she was quite excited when she saw him, but she didn't dare to show it because of what had happened before. Now she was caught in a dilemma, and Zhang Youyou really hated him.

The person outside knew she disliked him, but he still wanted to give himself a chance. If Zhang Youyou really had no feelings for him, there was nothing he could do but help her break free from the arranged marriage set up by her elders.

She put on an apron and quietly cooked pasta alone in the kitchen. I wondered if she had eaten enough. Making an extra serving wouldn't have been a problem.

When Zhang Youyou was little, she would cling to him and call him "Brother Donghao" all day long. But when did she start to distance herself from him? Every time he saw her and Li Dongshuo playing around, he felt envious and jealous. Although he used tutoring as an excuse to get closer to her, she always wanted to escape. Even F University was just one of his backup schools. But luckily, she actually came.

The person came, but my heart never lingered on him for even a second.

With a wry smile, he scooped out the cooked pasta, arranged it on a plate, added some garnishes, and finally knocked on her door.

Zhang Youyou wasn't asleep. When she heard the knocking, she instinctively opened the door, only to realize that they were still in an awkward phase when she saw him. She tried to close the door, but he pushed her away with his hand, so Zhang Youyou had no choice but to give up.

"What's up?"

"I cooked some pasta, want to have some together?"

Zhang Youyou bit her lip, wanting to eat but not wanting to face him, it was a difficult choice.

Lee Dong-ho seemed to sense her hesitation and continued, "I have something I want to tell you."

Zhang Youyou looked at him, and eventually went to the restaurant with him.

The restaurant was so quiet that the only sound was the clinking of forks against plates. Zhang Youyou kept her head down and ate, so Li Donghao had no choice but to break the silence.

"I'm not going to class next week."

Zhang Youyou stopped what she was doing upon hearing this, but did not raise her head.

"There's a lot more work to do in the lab, so I need to stay there and we probably won't see each other much anymore. Take care of yourself, and don't... don't let Grandpa worry."

Although she didn't want to see him recently, she was still a little sad to hear him say that they rarely met. Fortunately, she had strong self-control, and apart from her voice trembling slightly, she didn't show any other abnormalities.

Lee Dong-ho, holding his fork, thought for a moment and then added, "What I said before..."

"Don't worry, I'll forget about it." Zhang Youyou quickly interrupted, not wanting to let this matter bother them anymore, but unfortunately Li Donghao didn't think so.

"No, what I mean is, think about it carefully, and let me know when you have an answer. Even if the result isn't what I want, it's okay, I'll help you."

I thought he was going to erase that memory, but... sigh, why is this man's heart so hard to guess?

"I understand, let's eat." Zhang Youyou didn't want to continue; she was losing control of herself.

After quickly finishing her meal, Zhang Youyou returned to her room. Li Donghao stared at the clean plate opposite him, his heart heavy. It seemed she truly didn't like him.

He couldn't finish the last bite of pasta and sat alone in his chair, lost in thought.
