Chapter 112, Something Happened
Zhang Youyou noticed that her sleep quality had been getting worse and worse since she met Li Donghao, and her dark circles were almost covering half of her face. Zhang Youyou urgently ordered eye cream, but for now, she would use Li Yanyan's.
Li Yanyan didn't know what to do when she saw her haggard appearance. No one should interfere in matters of the heart; all that could be done was wait for the person involved to come to their senses.
Watching her expressionlessly scoop up a large chunk of eye cream and apply it aimlessly around her eyes, Li Yanyan silently took it back.
"Hey Youyou, you don't need to do this. You're still young. You can make up for it with a good night's sleep, even without eye cream!"
While massaging her, Zhang Youyou replied, "But I can't sleep."
Fine, let's pretend she didn't say anything.
After the morning classes ended, Zhang Youyou originally planned to go see Meng Xiao in the afternoon, but while eating in the cafeteria, she heard from others that something had happened in the lab.
Just as she was wondering what to talk about with Meng Xiao, she heard Li Donghao mentioned at the next table. Zhang Youyou immediately perked up her ears and heard them say that something seemed to have happened in the laboratory and that someone had heard an explosion.
Zhang Youyou couldn't sit still any longer and went over to ask about the specifics. They couldn't explain it clearly either, but an ambulance had gone there. Zhang Youyou's heart was in her throat. She didn't care about anything else and ran straight to the laboratory.
Seeing this, the roommate had no choice but to pack up his things and chase after them.
As Zhang Youyou left the cafeteria, only one wish remained in her mind: Li Donghao must be safe and sound!
When Zhang Youyou arrived at the lab, it was surrounded by people. A white ambulance slowly passed by her. Zhang Youyou's legs went weak. If her roommate hadn't arrived in time to support her, she probably would have fallen to the ground.
"Li Donghao!" At this moment, Zhang Youyou's mind was filled with nothing but Li Donghao.
She wanted to chase after him, but her legs were too weak. Her roommate knew what she was worried about and kept comforting her. Fortunately, Liu Ping still managed to stay rational. She took out her phone and dialed Li Donghao's number. He appeared in front of them shortly afterward.
This was the first time in all the years he had known Zhang Youyou that he had seen worry on her face. Li Donghao, holding his phone, didn't hear the people around him and ran over. When he saw Zhang Youyou's tear-streaked face, he couldn't help but hug her.
Zhang Youyou thought she was seeing things, but she couldn't help but cry out when she felt his presence.
She hated Li Donghao; she hated his domineering nature, his academic excellence, his popularity, and how he always treated her like a child and lectured her… But when she learned that he was in danger, Zhang Youyou couldn’t suppress her worry.
She admitted that her heart stopped beating the moment she saw the ambulance. Now that he was alive and well in front of her, Zhang Youyou finally couldn't control her suppressed emotions and hugged him, crying bitterly.
If it weren't for the need to cooperate with the investigation, Li Donghao would definitely have taken her home to comfort her, but now he can only let her roommate take her back and visit her later.
Zhang Youyou made sure he would come to her when he returned before going back to the dormitory with her roommate.
Li Donghao returned home after 7 p.m. The first thing he did upon arriving at school was to send a WeChat message to Zhang Youyou. Fortunately, she was still awake and replied before coming downstairs.
As soon as she stepped out of the dormitory building, she saw Li Donghao standing there. Despite the dim light, she could still see how tired he was. Zhang Youyou didn't care about anything else and ran over to hug him.
After a long day, Li Donghao was exhausted. He took Zhang Youyou back home, and neither of them spoke a word on the way.
Lee Dong-ho glanced at her from time to time, only to find her staring at him. Lee Dong-ho didn't know what to say, so he just silently held her hand.
Zhang Youyou glanced down at him, and finally turned around and clasped his fingers together.
Many people avoid their emotions or feelings for various reasons, but when danger approaches and they have to make a life-or-death decision, they realize what is most important.
Zhang Youyou was relieved that Li Donghao was unharmed, and also relieved that she had come here.
