Chapter 131, Fireworks

Chapter 131, Fireworks

As dusk fell, more and more people entered the restaurant. The dim lighting and melodious music made it the perfect spot for a date, but unfortunately, Zhang Youyou's eating habits ruined the atmosphere.

Lee Dong-ho patiently cut her steak, picked out the side dishes she didn't like, and reminded her to drink the soup. It didn't look like a date; it looked more like taking care of a child. But he was used to it.

In his eyes, Zhang Youyou was like a child who never grew up and needed to be taken care of. However, at times she had a strange persistence and stubbornness. Sometimes Li Donghao couldn't figure out which one was the real her, but he liked both of them.

Perhaps it's too early for Zhang Youyou to talk about marriage now, but for Li Donghao, this is definitely the best time. After all, she's already an adult and has many choices. What if she really leaves with someone else? But then again, what if she really meets someone she likes in the future? Can he really bring himself to let her go?

Li Donghao paused in his movements, looked up, and saw that she was concentrating on fighting the lobster. Seeing her focused expression, Li Donghao realized that his worries were completely unnecessary.

He placed the steak in front of her and helped her prepare the lobster. Zhang Youyou took his care for granted and glanced at the bayberry lemon tea in front of him, asking if he wanted some. Li Donghao handed it to her without hesitation.

Knowing she would crave his food, Lee Dong-ho chose what she liked.

While others eat Western food with elegance, Zhang Youyou eats Western food with the principle of sharing everything – she orders anything that looks good and is being treated, especially if the person treating her is him or Li Dongshuo. She doesn't care whether she likes it or can eat it, because they are the best at dealing with leftover food.

"This soup is awful!" Zhang Youyou pushed the borscht in front of him. "This restaurant looks nice, but the food is really terrible!"

Li Donghao glanced around to make sure no one was watching her before he felt a little relieved. He whispered a reminder not to say anything out of line, and Zhang Youyou stuck her tongue out at him.

It was almost eight o'clock when they finished eating. Zhang Youyou was full and satisfied, while poor Li Donghao sighed silently at the remaining food. Zhang Youyou had ordered a lot, ate a lot, and left even more uneaten food.

Silently eating with her knife and fork, Zhang Youyou ordered dessert. Normally, Li Donghao would definitely disagree, but it was Christmas, and the restaurant was warm enough, so he didn't stop her, though he still asked the waiter to prepare hot water.

Zhang Youyou ate dessert while watching the time and waiting for the fireworks.

The waiting time always seemed exceptionally long, and since the two rarely spoke, silence spread between them. Zhang Youyou had no choice but to look out the window to ease the awkwardness.

When she was little, fireworks were allowed in her hometown. Every Spring Festival, she and Li Dongshuo would set off lots of fireworks in the yard, with servants around. Every time they lit a firework, the servants would ask if they needed help, but the two of them would always push them away. As a child, she thought they were so annoying, but later she realized that they not only had to protect their safety but also ensure that no disaster would happen to their home. Now that she's grown up, she can only watch others set off fireworks from behind a glass window.

Around 8 o'clock, even through the glass, you could see the crowded people on the riverbank. Everyone wanted to find a good spot to watch the fireworks with their loved ones, but the venue was only so big, and the number of people kept increasing, so the police had to maintain order.

Zhang Youyou got annoyed and turned to drink her beverage. She glanced at Li Donghao, who was still eating, and couldn't help but laugh.

He has always been seen as a mature and steady person by her and Lee Dong-seok, but now this mature man is eating broccoli, how cute!

While they were lost in thought, the outside suddenly brightened. Li Donghao looked up, and the two of them exchanged a glance and looked out the window at the same time. It turned out that the fireworks had already started.
