Chapter 139, Acting Cute
Zhang's mother had wanted to ask her what she thought of the two Li brothers, but now it seemed she had to give up. This was unavoidable; after all, Zhang Youyou spent too little time with them, and for her, "parents" was just a word, used only occasionally out of necessity.
After sitting for a while, Zhang's mother asked her again when she was going home. Zhang Youyou said she wasn't sure, and that she would be spending the Spring Festival at the Li family's house this year. Zhang's mother couldn't persuade her otherwise, so she had to agree.
After her mother left, Zhang Youyou closed the door and her good mood instantly turned sour.
She didn't want to be cold, distant, or on the verge of conflict, but she wasn't really close to her parents. They only spent a month or two together a year, so she didn't have much affection for them. On the other hand, she felt comfortable with the Li family, where she had grown up. Although they had different surnames, both she and the Li family treated her like family.
After flipping through the screen for a while, the phone rang. It was a video call from Li Donghao. Zhang Youyou locked the door and pressed the answer button.
Although she saw him yesterday, she still missed him.
"Are you home?" Li Donghao looked extremely tired, it seems he's had a lot going on lately.
"I'm home. After dinner, I met Grandpa and Auntie. They were both very nice. Uncle hasn't finished get off work yet."
"Where's Dong-seok? Did he go back to his room?"
“Of course, why would he come to my room instead of going back to his own?” Zhang Youyou said deliberately, tilting her chin up. She then turned over, found a phone stand, placed it on the bedside table, and leaned over to look at him.
Knowing that she was teasing him on purpose, Li Donghao wasn't angry. Instead, he asked her about the trip. Zhang Youyou said that she hadn't had a chance to tell her grandfather today, but she would mention it tomorrow, and it would probably be over in a day or two.
"Don't go on their date, stay home and keep Grandpa company. I'll take you out to play when I get back, okay?" Li Donghao didn't want her to run around alone, but Zhang Youyou wouldn't listen.
"I'm not joining in the fun. I'm just taking him there. They can go on their date while I wander around. Besides, I'll be fine with Lee Dong-seok around!" She didn't want to miss out on such an exciting real-life dating reality show.
Li Dongshuo couldn't help but put on a stern face. Zhang Youyou felt wronged. She was the one who started this whole thing, so why wasn't she allowed to investigate?
"Oh, don't worry, I can just find a friend to go with me, okay?"
"Friends? What kind of friends? Male or female? Where did you meet them? How old are they?"
Zhang Youyou was amused by his series of questions. She waved her hands repeatedly, trying to control herself but still laughing so hard she was shaking. After a long while, she finally managed to say, "Classmate, a girl!"
Lee Dong-ho realized he had overreacted and wanted to explain but didn't know how to start, so he could only cough awkwardly twice.
After laughing enough, Zhang Youyou changed her posture, leaning back on the bed and video chatting with him on her phone.
"Don't worry, I'm not a child, nothing will happen to me. Besides, based on my understanding of Ji Yuxuan, she can't possibly spend the night with Li Dongshuo. So, Li Dongshuo can basically only spend some time with her during the day, and he'll have to come find me at night!"
Even though she said that, Li Donghao was still not satisfied, but Zhang Youyou didn't want to listen, so she pulled out her trump card.
"Brother Donghao, please, let me go out and have some fun. I promise I won't run around. At most, I'll just go to the mall or supermarket over there, okay?"

Zhang Youyou stuck her tongue out at him, and they both laughed. After chatting for a while, Li Donghao had to go to the lab and had to hang up. Zhang Youyou looked at her phone in silence for a moment, then smiled.
