Chapter 150, Progress
He thought Zhang Youyou wouldn't let him off the hook, but he didn't expect her to only spend a little over a thousand. He really doesn't know whether he should thank her or not.
After dinner, Zhang Youyou suggested going to see a movie, but then she received a call from Li Donghao who wanted to video chat with her. Zhang Youyou wanted to refuse, but Ji Yuxuan said she was tired and wanted to go home to rest early. Since the female lead had said that, she didn't say anything more. So Zhang Youyou went back to the hotel with Li Dongshuo, while Ji Yuxuan went home with Ji Huai'an.
With no outsiders around, Zhang Youyou was visibly more relaxed, and said quietly from the passenger seat, "The seat hasn't moved."
Lee Dong-seok was focused on driving, but still replied, "What do you mean?"
"It's nothing, I just feel like I should sit in the back."
Hearing that she was mocking him, Li Dongshuo didn't mind. Instead, he asked her in a good mood if Ji Huai'an had done anything to her. Zhang Youyou felt that the question was a bit unnecessary.
What do you think he will do to me?
"It's best to have nothing!" Lee Dong-seok said. "I don't want to be hunted down by my brother."
Zhang Youyou shrugged indifferently, "He didn't do anything to me, but he's quite attentive to Ji Yuxuan. Besides, both he and Ji Yuxuan are only children, so the threshold for you to be with Ji Yuxuan is very high."
Hearing her say that, Li Dongshuo's hard-won confidence began to wane, but then Zhang Youyou continued, "But it's okay, I've already knocked on the door for you!"
Before Li Dongshuo could voice his doubts, Zhang Youyou continued, "I gave him a watch."
Lee Dong-seok almost slammed on the brakes, but after a moment of calm, he asked her curiously, "Why did you give him a watch?"
"I originally planned to buy it as a gift for your brother, but I felt it wasn't good enough for him, so I gave it to him instead. I also wanted to see his attitude. It was alright; he seems to acknowledge our family's strength."
Lee Dong-seok somewhat regretted bringing her along, and only hoped that she wouldn't tell his brother anything.
“Zhang Youyou, I advise you not to tell my brother that you gave another man a watch.”
"Why?" Zhang Youyou didn't think it was anything too embarrassing to talk about.
"For my own life, please, please don't tell!"
"Fine." It's not a big deal, so Zhang Youyou doesn't care. What she cares about is Li Dongshuo and Ji Yuxuan's relationship.
"And what about you? Have you confessed to Ji Yuxuan yet?"
The car arrived at the hotel and headed straight for the parking lot. Zhang Youyou wasn't in a hurry to get out of the car, so she simply asked him how things were going. Li Dongshuo thought for a moment and then confessed, "I confessed to her."
Zhang Youyou was so excited she almost jumped up. If Li Dongshuo hadn't stopped her, she probably would have jumped out of the car.
"Really? What did she say?"
Lee Dong-seok glanced at it, drove the car to the parking lot, and said slowly, "She said she would consider it."
Zhang Youyou's eyes nearly popped out of their sockets; she was unwilling to accept this outcome.
"That's it? That's way too perfunctory!"
"Otherwise what? What do you want her to say? Agree outright? How could that be?"
"Why is it impossible? She clearly likes you, so why can't you say yes?"
After stopping the car, Lee Dong-seok looked at her with a smile and asked, "So, did you agree to my brother's request?"
Zhang Youyou instinctively wanted to retort, but then she remembered that he was still in the probationary period and had not yet passed the test, so she swallowed back the rebuttal that was on the tip of her tongue.
Seeing her hesitation, Li Dongshuo continued, "It's okay. The fact that she needs time to consider means there's a chance. I'm not in a hurry. Besides, with you as the middleman, she can't escape!"
Hearing him say that, Zhang Youyou finally felt relieved and only hoped that Ji Yuxuan would agree soon.
