Chapter 161, Entering the Inner Chamber
Because of a careless remark, Li Donghao was given an opportunity. From then on, he claimed to be Zhang Youyou's boyfriend. Unable to refute him, Zhang Youyou could only accept her fate. Fortunately, she could still stay at his large apartment, so the loss wasn't too great.
After buying their daily necessities, the two went home. Zhang Youyou collapsed on the sofa as soon as she got home, complaining that she was exhausted. Li Donghao put the things in the living room and looked at her empty hands. He wanted to argue, but considering the identity he had just acquired, he had to give up.
Are you hungry? What would you like to eat?
Speaking of food, Zhang Youyou suddenly felt ravenously hungry and weakly said, "Pasta!"
Li Donghao, who was about to pack his things, glanced at her and said helplessly, "No."
Not getting a definite answer, Zhang Youyou glanced at him sideways, "If you don't have one, why are you asking?"
"I..." I wanted to argue, but seeing her expression, I could only hold back. "We didn't buy any pasta, how am I supposed to cook it for you?"
"What else can I expect from you?" Zhang Youyou pouted, picked up her phone to order takeout, and suddenly realized that there was no address for this place, so she asked him. Li Donghao went over to help her enter it and even asked her to bring him a portion. Zhang Youyou pouted but still generously ordered it for him.
Li Donghao paced back and forth in the living room and kitchen, while Zhang Youyou sprawled on the sofa watching a show on her phone. It wasn't until her phone rang, announcing that the takeout had arrived, that she told Li Donghao to go pick it up at the south gate of the complex. Li Donghao gave her a rather resentful look, then took his phone and went downstairs.
Before, when she lived here, she always drove herself to and from the community and didn't think it was far. But today, walking, she realized how far her home was from the entrance of the community. If she lived here, it would be very inconvenient for her to pick up takeout or deliveries. Li Donghao was thinking about whether to buy her a bicycle or an electric scooter.
When Li Donghao returned, Zhang Youyou was already lying on the sofa, looking like she was barely breathing. Li Donghao quickly went over to tell her that the food was ready.
Zhang Youyou barely managed to lift her head and asked, "Are you going to pick up or deliver takeout? I'm starving!"
Li Donghao coaxed and persuaded her, finally escorting her to the dining table. He then took out the takeout and placed it in front of her, not forgetting to open her drink, pour it into a cup, and put it beside her.
Zhang Youyou accepted his care as a matter of course.
Seeing her wolfing down her food, Li Donghao repeatedly urged her to slow down, but Zhang Youyou didn't take it seriously.
Li Donghao didn't eat. After taking good care of her, he went to pack his things. After putting all the juices and drinks in the refrigerator, he suddenly had an idea. He turned to her and asked, "If you like it here, I'll stay with you!"
Zhang Youyou, who had just taken a big bite, choked on his words and coughed so hard she could barely breathe. Li Donghao quickly came over to pat her back and handed her the drink he had poured earlier. Zhang Youyou took a big gulp before she felt better.
I was initially happy to be able to live on my own, but he took advantage of the situation. I accepted it because of my carelessness, but now he wants to take things further. How can I allow that? He's still in the probationary period!
Adhering to the principles of fairness and impartiality, Zhang Youyou refused.
Knowing she wasn't so easy to talk to, Li Donghao sat down next to her and said seriously, "I just picked up my takeout. It took me about fifteen minutes to get from downstairs to the south gate, so it took about half an hour to go back and forth. You can't cook. If you lived here by yourself, could you keep going to the gate to pick up takeout every day?"
Zhang Youyou thought about it and realized that it had indeed taken him quite a while to get downstairs.
"If I'm here, I can help you get your takeout and take care of you. Why wouldn't I want to?"
Zhang Youyou looked at him suspiciously, sensing he was up to something, but couldn't quite put her finger on it. However, what he said was indeed true; having him here would be very convenient for many things, like having someone carry groceries and pay at the supermarket, or someone to pick up takeout orders. It seemed good, except…
Looking at him again, I still felt something was off.
