Chapter 168, Future
Although he said he wouldn't dare, he was secretly looking at houses, investigating prices, and learning what he needed to know to buy a house. Li Donghao knew that he couldn't show anything except silently accompanying her.
"Shall we hang this 'Fu' character here?" Zhang Youyou said, pointing to the wall behind the TV cabinet, while holding a 'Fu' character pendant in his hand.
"That one is too small, and there's only one. It doesn't look good hanging there!" Li Donghao, who was moving flowers, glanced at the comments.
"Then what should we do?"
Li Donghao placed the embroidered ball in the spot Zhang Youyou had arranged, then got up and walked towards her. He picked up the pendant, looked around, and pointed to her bedroom door, saying, "Why don't we hang it on the door? I think we have something similar."
The two searched again and finally found four more, then hung them on the doors of each bedroom as Li Donghao had instructed.
The house, which was mainly decorated in black, white, and gray, has finally added a new color.
Li Donghao was thankful that most courier services were closed due to the approaching Spring Festival; otherwise, he might have had to unpack many more packages at home.
"Put the kumquats next to the TV cabinet!" Zhang Youyou ordered, and Li Donghao carried it out.
"Hang that little lantern over there!"
"Oh, right, and the lucky bucket!"
Watching her walk around, searching for this and that, Li Donghao seemed to see a glimpse of what their married life would be like. He genuinely hoped that Zhang Youyou could continue living such an innocent and happy life, and he didn't want that previous expression to ever appear on her face again.
"Li Donghao!" The sudden voice made him look over. He saw her place a card pendant that should have been hanging on the lucky bucket in his hand. Li Donghao glanced at it and saw that it read "May everything go as you wish".
Li Donghao quietly put it away, opened his arms and hugged her, whispering gently in her ear, "As long as you're by my side, everything will go smoothly for me!"
Although I've gotten used to his occasional sweet words, my heart still races when I hear them now.
After a long day, the two of them finally managed to put the items in the right place. Lying on the sofa, Zhang Youyou weakly called out to him, saying she wanted to eat rice noodles. Li Donghao reached for his phone and handed it to her.
Since moving here, Li Donghao has been cooking most of the time, except when she wants to eat out occasionally. But today they were both too tired to move.
After Zhang Youyou finished ordering her food, she returned the phone to Li Donghao. Li Donghao then ordered for himself, only to realize afterward that he still needed to go to the door to pick up the takeout. He sighed, but had no choice but to accept it.
During dinner, Li Donghao asked her if she had any plans for the future, such as what career she wanted to pursue or which city she wanted to develop her career in.
Zhang Youyou picked up a fish ball, put it in her mouth, chewed and thought for a long time before replying: "I'm not sure yet. I think F City is pretty good. Maybe I'll try it there. If it doesn't work out, I might go somewhere else, or go back to my hometown."
"So you're planning to give it a try, and if it works, great; if not, we can change it?"
"Um."
"Do you want to be a housewife?"
Zhang Youyou thought for a moment and shook her head.
"If you could stay home all day eating and drinking instead of going to work, that would be great, but don't dream about it," Zhang Youyou said.
"You think it's impossible?"
“No. It’s normal for me to be with you, but I’m not one to sit still. I also want to see how capable I am. It would be nice to have a job I like, and if not, I’ll have a backup plan!” As she spoke, she raised an eyebrow at him, and Li Donghao smiled and agreed.
"That's great! It's good to have dreams. I'll be your strong support!"
After taking another bite of rice noodles, Zhang Youyou asked timidly, "What do you think my chances of succeeding in the postgraduate entrance exam are?"
Li Donghao watched her think seriously for a long time before answering, "I don't know. Your instability is too high!"
Zhang Youyou scoffed and lowered his head to continue eating.
Seeing her regain her childlike innocence, Lee Dong-ho's smile deepened. He wanted to preserve that naivety in her, no matter what.
