Chapter 170, Staying Up Late on New Year's Eve

As the two were chatting, the door opened, and Lee Dong-seok said, "Come in." Lee Dong-ho opened the door and came in, carrying a glass of orange juice.

Lee Dong-seok winked at Zhang Youyou, meaning, "I wasn't wrong, was I?" Zhang Youyou glared back at him.

"Grandpa said we'll eat soon, so you should come downstairs early!" The words were directed at Li Dongshuo, who nodded obediently.

Seeing that Li Dongshuo was of no use, Zhang Youyou immediately got up and pulled Li Donghao out the door. Before Li Donghao could even give her the orange juice, she had already pulled him out.

I thought we were going downstairs, but it turned out we were going to her room.

"It's been so long, don't you miss Grandpa?" After placing the orange juice on the table, Li Donghao was finally able to take a good look at her room.

He's been here before, but back then he was just his uncle's older brother. Things are different now.

"Yes, I want to, but my parents are here!" Zhang Youyou said.

Li Donghao understood that she wasn't very close to her parents.

“It’s okay, Grandpa and I are here! And Dong-seok is here too!” Lee Dong-ho stood in front of her and gently stroked her hair.

Zhang Youyou suddenly opened her arms and hugged him, her little face pressed tightly against his chest. Li Donghao felt his body stiffen and his breathing become rapid. For a moment, he didn't know what to do.

“I just don’t know how to face them,” Zhang Youyou said. She had tried her best to cooperate while living at home, but after leaving, she didn’t want to try anymore.

After a long, stiff motion, Li Donghao slowly stroked her back, carefully comforting her.

“Actually, you don’t need to do it deliberately!” Li Donghao said. “Just communicate with them the same way you would with us. They are your parents, they will understand!”

She cuddled in his arms for a while before reluctantly agreeing.

Li Donghao didn't pressure her. Instead, he drank orange juice with her and chatted upstairs for a while before coming downstairs.

When they came down, dinner was already prepared. Grandpa immediately invited Zhang Youyou to sit on his right, his eyes full of affection, as if she were his own granddaughter.

During the meal, the two families exchanged blessings. Zhang Youyou also received red envelopes from her grandfather, parents, uncles, and aunts. Zhang Youyou proudly gestured to Li Dongshuo, who pursed his lips and said that he had one too.

After dinner, they sat together and chatted. Grandpa was old and needed to rest, so he went to his room to sleep early. The parents talked about work, but apart from Li Donghao, Zhang Youyou and Li Dongshuo couldn't get a word in edgewise, so the two of them went to play games.

Although Li Donghao was chatting with his elders, he kept glancing at Zhang Youyou, and he was in a good mood as he saw that she was having fun.

Staying up all night on New Year's Eve is a particularly difficult thing for Zhang Youyou; he has never been able to stay up until midnight since he was a child.

Seeing that her eyes were glazed over, Li Dongshuo quickly made her log off. It wasn't that he didn't want to play with her, but he was afraid of being implicated by her.

"Alright, you've been playing all day, go to sleep early!" Li Donghao came to the rescue. Zhang Youyou was so sleepy that she could barely keep her eyes open. When she heard Li Donghao's voice, she immediately opened her arms and asked him to hug her.

Lee Dong-seok was so shocked by Zhang Youyou's actions that his jaw almost dropped. Were they really going this far? Their parents were still here!

Lee Dong-ho knew she was really sleepy, otherwise she wouldn't be acting like a child, whining for a hug.

Taking the phone from her hand, Li Donghao squatted down, picked her up in his arms, and turned to the four parents, saying, "I'll take her back to her room first!"

The four parents were also taken aback, and nodded stiffly after hearing his words.

Lee Dong-seok didn't want to stay there any longer, so he hurriedly got up, grabbed their phones, and chased after them, helping them open the door and pull the blankets up like a servant.

After taking care of the sleeping child, the two brothers went to Li Dongshuo's room.

Lee Dong-ho returned the phone to Lee Dong-ho, who glanced at the phone case and said it wasn't his. Lee Dong-ho was stunned.
