Chapter 23, The Butler

Chapter 23, The Butler

Li Donghao stayed with her for a long time until the hand warmer got cold. He then recharged it, wrapped it in a towel, and placed it on her stomach.

She slept soundly until dawn. When she woke up, she found a cooled hand warmer and a towel that had fallen out of the blanket. It took her a minute to remember that Li Donghao had given them to her yesterday.

"He's a nice guy," Zhang Youyou thought.

Although she wanted to stay in bed, she felt unwell and had to go to the bathroom. She took her things out of the bag and went out, but she didn't see Li Donghao. However, the bathroom door was closed. Based on the previous incident, she politely knocked on the door and only went in after confirming that no one was inside.

After a whole night of turmoil, I feel much better today. When I came out, I noticed a note on the dining table and went over to take a look. It was left for me by Li Donghao.

"Remember to drink the hot soy milk in the soy milk maker. There's porridge in the pot. Don't eat the fried dough sticks and eggs if they're cold. I'll be back at noon." It was signed "Hao".

That's really cool, Zhang Youyou thought, as if his name were some kind of valuable thing.

However, his name is indeed valuable. Although he is still pursuing his doctorate, he has shares in the Li family company. He can join the company at any time if he wants, but his ambitions lie elsewhere, and his uncle cannot do anything about it.

After folding the note, Zhang Youyou glanced at the soy milk maker on the dining table, as well as the fried dough sticks and eggs that had been turned upside down. Finally, he went to the pot in the kitchen to look at the porridge that had cooled down a bit. Zhang Youyou couldn't help but sigh, wondering if he felt like he was losing all his protein.

Just as Zhang Youyou was staring blankly at the pot, the doorbell rang. She walked out of the kitchen and saw Li Donghao carrying two bags as he entered. His first words to her were, "Does it still hurt?"

Before Zhang Youyou could react, he was already in front of her, his large hand pressed against her forehead. Good, it wasn't hot anymore.

Zhang Youyou pushed his hand away in dissatisfaction and retorted, "I'm on my period, not have a fever, why are you putting a sticker on my forehead?"

She realized what she had said as soon as she finished speaking, and turned to slip away from him, but he grabbed her arm, tilted his head and looked at her, saying, "Go wash up first, I'll cook for you."

Zhang Youyou looked at him in confusion; he had already let go.

"Strange!" Zhang Youyou muttered as she returned to her room. Li Donghao heard her but ignored her.

When she opened the door again, Li Donghao was standing in front of the door holding a dark blue hoodie. When he saw her peek out, he held the hoodie up to her.

Zhang Youyou took it with a grin and slammed the door shut.

That's incredible! How did he know he had no clothes to wear?

The dark blue hoodie she was wearing almost reached her knees. Zhang Youyou took the clothes she had changed out of and took them directly to the washing machine, but unfortunately she didn't know how to use it, so she had to ask Li Donghao for help in the kitchen. When Li Donghao was about to add water, he suddenly remembered something and asked her if there was any metal on her clothes. Zhang Youyou was about to say no, but when she met his gaze, she seemed to remember something and pushed him out. After a while, she let him come in to add water to wash the clothes.

Although this is Li Donghao's home, and although he is a young master at home, he seems more like her housekeeper now, cooking, washing clothes, and running errands for her. However, Zhang Youyou, the person in question, does not feel anything is wrong and eats without any guilt.

"Zhang Youyou." Li Donghao called her as she was ladling her second bowl of soup. Zhang Youyou didn't even look up and just grunted in response.

"Please leave a few sets of clothes at my house."

As she put down her bowl, Zhang Youyou asked, puzzled, why. She didn't come here often. After saying that, she glanced at the words on her hoodie and remembered that she had worn his clothes both times. Zhang Youyou, who was drinking soup, coughed awkwardly.

"No, no need, I don't come here often."

"What will you do if Grandpa comes next time?"

With the porcelain spoon between his teeth, Zhang Youyou thought about it and realized he was right.

"Alright, I'll buy two outfits and have them shipped over directly," Zhang Youyou generously conceded.
