Chapter 28, Emotions
The warmth from her palm burned away Zhang Youyou's reason, and she stood there, not knowing what to say.
how so?
Seeing her fair face gradually turn red, as pink as a peach blossom, Li Donghao couldn't help but lower his head. Zhang Youyou didn't know what was wrong with her either, but when she saw him lower his head, she involuntarily closed her eyes and looked up.
Their noses were only a finger's width apart, and Li Donghao's remaining rationality made him stop. The tenderness in his eyes as he looked at the person in front of him was almost overflowing with affection.
Although they both disliked the arranged marriage their grandfather had proposed, they had to admit that over the course of nearly twenty years, feelings had developed between them—perhaps familial love, or perhaps other complex emotions unknown to others. He had forcibly suppressed all of these feelings until she came of age, until they could talk about these things without restraint. However, she didn't understand yet, so he dared not be rash and could only wait, wait until she was older, until she understood feelings better. At that time, he could openly express his feelings without reservation, hoping that she would accept them then.
He lingered on her face, tracing her features with his gaze, her delicate nose and her red lips. Reluctantly, he slowly rose and gently tapped her forehead with his other hand. Faced with the sudden attack, the bangs on her forehead slipped down slightly with the tremor. Zhang Youyou pitifully covered her forehead and opened her eyes.
Why did you hit me?
"Hitting you is too lenient. Why did you secretly take pictures of me and post them in your group? Do you know what you're doing?" He held her hand tightly.
Zhang Youyou replied without any hesitation, "Do you think I wanted to take the picture? I just thought the scene was nice and wanted to share it with everyone. Besides, wouldn't you be happy if a girl called you 'husband'? You know, there are many men in this world who want girls to call them 'husband'!"
Fortunately, Li Donghao didn't hit her too hard, otherwise her head would have been swollen.
"And you, who do you call husband?" Li Donghao knew that many girls liked to call their idols husband, but he secretly didn't want Zhang Youyou to call anyone husband except him.
Zhang Youyou was still rubbing her forehead, which was sore from being hit. After thinking seriously for a while, she said, "No, I've never seen anyone so handsome that I could call him 'husband'."
Her answer made him feel very comfortable, like a clear spring flowing through his heart, sweet and soothing.
"But I don't want to shout, lest my husband finds out and gets jealous later," Zhang Youyou said smugly. When she was about to rub her forehead with her other hand, she realized that her hand was still being held by him, so she shook it off forcefully, and Li Donghao awkwardly let go.
Speaking of this, Zhang Youyou remembered the purpose of her visit. She glanced at him a few times to make sure he was in a good mood, and then tried to ask, "Brother Donghao, have you... have you thought about what your future wife will be like?"
Lee Dong-ho looked at her again, his eyes filled with questions.
Zhang Youyou chuckled awkwardly, avoided his gaze, and took a few steps to the side, explaining uneasily, "Actually, besides studying, university is also about increasing interpersonal relationships. You've been here for so many years and have seen batch after batch of freshmen, don't you have any suitable ones?"
We've come full circle back to this topic, and this time Lee Dong-ho has chosen not to shy away from it.
"No."
Zhang Youyou pouted, "How come your standards are so high?"
Lee Dong-ho walked over curiously, turned her shoulders to face him, and asked seriously, "And you? Do you have someone you like?"
Zhang Youyou shook her head pitifully, "I just arrived, and I don't even know everyone in my class, how could I possibly know if there's anyone I like? But it's okay, I'll do four years of university, and if all else fails, I'll get a PhD. I'll meet someone eventually!"
She gently patted his arm as she spoke, encouraging him, "Let's cheer each other on!"
