Chapter 39, Nightmare
The car stopped downstairs. Li Donghao looked at the sleeping person next to him, thought for a moment, and decided not to wake her.
Because of the misunderstanding, she has been in a bad mood for the past two days. Although she had a lot of fun and even acted spoiled and temperamental towards him, the thorn in her heart still hasn't been removed. Now that she's tired from playing and has fallen asleep, it's a chance for her to catch her breath.
The car's air conditioning wasn't on, and there was only a slight breeze occasionally blowing in. Li Donghao was worried that she would catch a cold, so he rolled up her window while leaving a small gap on his side. He then found a coat to cover her with and finally sat in the car with her.
Although she sometimes annoys me, I have to admit that it was the right thing to do to let her go to the same school as me, at least I can be there for her when she encounters difficulties.
The car was so quiet that only their breathing could be heard. Looking at her sleeping face, Li Donghao felt a surge of warmth in his chest. His phone, which had been silent all along, suddenly vibrated. To avoid waking her, Li Donghao took it out and immediately put it on silent.
The call was from Anqi, but Zhang Youyou was still sleeping and it was inconvenient for him to answer. So he opened WeChat, found her, and replied, "I'm busy right now and it's inconvenient for me to answer the phone."
Angie replied shortly after: "Are you with your sister?"
Actually, Zhang Youyou's behavior at the mobile phone store was quite obvious, but since Li Donghao didn't admit it himself, she chose not to believe it.
"Yes." Li Donghao didn't want to hide it.
Anqi looked at the "right" and suddenly felt a lump in her throat, tears streaming down her exquisitely made-up face.
Sitting across from her, Xi Zhu immediately understood her expression and considerately handed her a tissue, comforting her, "Actually, the senior's behavior is quite obvious. He used to never get close to women, but ever since Zhang Youyou came, he not only goes to the cafeteria to eat with her, but also lets her stay at his house. He calls her his sister, but she's really his lover."
"They don't look like they're dating!"
Xi Zhu didn't understand this either, and guessed, "Maybe it hasn't been made public yet. After all, the senior is now pursuing a doctorate and working as a teaching assistant. By the way, is he the teaching assistant for Zhang Youyou's class?"

At first, Xi Zhu thought she was asking about Li Donghao, but then she realized she was referring to Zhang Youyou. Uncertainly, she said, "It seems so." Seeing her lower her eyes, Xi Zhu asked worriedly, "You're not thinking of bullying her, are you?"
Although she didn't think Anqi was that kind of person, rivals are always jealous of each other, and she was afraid that Anqi might do something irreversible.
Anqi simply smiled and replied, "How could I? She's my senior's sister after all. I wouldn't bully her."
That's what they said, but Xizhu felt vaguely uneasy.
Zhang Youyou was equally uneasy in her sleep. She dreamt that many people pointed at her and called her a thief, an orphan, and someone who had given birth to her but no one to raise her... Their insults grew more and more offensive, and they even threw broken vegetable leaves and rotten eggs at her. She tried to dodge, but there was a cliff behind her, and she lost her footing and fell to the bottom...
"Ah!!!" Zhang Youyou shouted and woke up completely.
"What's wrong? What's wrong? Did you have a nightmare?" Li Donghao, who had been sitting in the driver's seat with her, immediately sat up when he heard her cry, but before he could grab her, he saw her sitting in the passenger seat, drenched in sweat and panting heavily. Li Donghao was terrified.
"Youyou, what's wrong?" Li Donghao asked cautiously. It took Zhang Youyou a long time to mechanically turn her head to look at him. Her eyes were red, and in the end, she couldn't help but cry and threw herself into his arms.
"Brother Donghao!"
Although he didn't know what nightmare she had, seeing her like this broke Li Donghao's heart. He hugged her tightly and gently patted her back to comfort her.
