Chapter 48, Ji Yuxuan
Zhang Youyou was idly drawing circles downstairs. Occasionally, people would pass by and stare at her like she was an animal in a zoo. After standing there for a while, Zhang Youyou couldn't stand the stares from passersby anymore, so she sent a WeChat message to Li Donghao and left.
If it weren't for wanting to hitch a ride with him, she wouldn't have stood there letting others stare at her.
On her way back, Zhang Youyou happened to pass by the library. As she was heading to the parking lot, she spotted a familiar figure. After a moment's thought, she ran over and patted the person on the shoulder. The person turned around and looked at her with a puzzled expression.
"How can I help you?"
Zhang Youyou apologized embarrassedly for mistaking someone else. Before she could even take a step after the person left, someone tapped her on the shoulder. Turning around, she saw the girl who had helped her earlier standing behind her.
"It looks like you from afar, and it really is!" The girl's voice was as refreshing as a spring drizzle.
"I thought that person was you!" Zhang Youyou smiled sheepishly. "What are you doing here?"
The girl pointed to the library and said, "I just went to borrow books. What about you? Are you here to borrow books too?"
"No, I was just passing by." Zhang Youyou laughed awkwardly. "By the way, I still don't know your name. Let's add each other on WeChat. I haven't thanked you for what happened last time!"
The girl smiled, took out her phone, opened WeChat, and held up the QR code in front of her. "My name is Ji Yuxuan, and I'm a sophomore majoring in foreign languages!"
Zhang Youyou added her on WeChat and introduced himself, "My name is Zhang Youyou, and I'm a freshman majoring in finance."
"I know," Ji Yuxuan said with a smile. "The whole school knows about you arguing with Teacher Jiang."
Zhang Youyou smiled awkwardly; it's not a good thing for a student to argue with a teacher.
"Oh, by the way, when are you free? I'd like to treat you to a meal. I haven't thanked you for what you did last time!" Zhang Youyou brought up the matter of gratitude again, but Ji Yuxuan smiled and declined.
"No need, it's no trouble at all. Besides, I would have returned the USB drive to the teacher even without you."
Remembering what Li Donghao had said earlier, Zhang Youyou pulled her aside and whispered, "She didn't make things difficult for you, did she?"
Ji Yuxuan was taken aback, then understood what she meant, and shook her head with a smile, "Teacher Jiang is a very nice person, don't worry."
That being said, Zhang Youyou didn't know much about Teacher Jiang, so how would she know who she was? She had to warn Ji Yuxuan to be careful no matter what. Ji Yuxuan smiled and said she would remember, then, seeing her classmates frequently giving her meaningful glances, she waved goodbye to Zhang Youyou.
As she watched them leave and prepared to go to the parking lot, someone put their arm around her shoulder again. Zhang Youyou turned around and saw Li Donghao standing next to her, his large hand still on her shoulder. Zhang Youyou tried to tap his fingers, but he didn't move. He tightened his grip on her shoulder and pushed her towards the parking lot.
"Don't do this, it hurts!" Zhang Youyou said, feeling wronged.
Li Donghao calmly lowered his hand and took hers, walking towards his car in sync with her steps. This time, Zhang Youyou did not refuse.
"I want to eat hot pot chicken." Zhang Youyou sat in the passenger seat and started ordering.
Lee Dong-ho silently fastened his seatbelt and replied, "I'm not a waiter."
Zhang Youyou turned around and looked at him, saying, "You're not a waiter, but you can take me to eat! I want to eat hot pot chicken!"
Li Donghao didn't start the car, but instead reminded her, "Fasten your seatbelt!"
Zhang Youyou happily fastened her seatbelt and obediently sat in the passenger seat, waiting for him to take her to eat. Li Donghao felt that he was neither her brother nor her half-marriage prospect, but rather her mobile ATM.
Although the food in the school cafeteria is pretty good, she still sometimes craves eating out, especially since she has someone to accompany her and someone to pay the bill. Why wouldn't she choose to enjoy it?
