Chapter 63, Inquiring
Because Anqi interrupted their barbecue, Zhang Youyou's stomach started acting up again. Although they bought a cake, it wasn't enough to satisfy their hunger, so the two of them went to a Hunan restaurant for a big meal. By the time they got home, Zhang Youyou's stomach was round again.
Zhang Youyou has a temper that comes and goes quickly. No matter what happens, she can still eat and sleep well. Sometimes I really don't know if she's just naive or just carefree. But that's good. Let him handle the troubles. She just needs to be happy.
He hasn't had a good night's sleep since yesterday, and he's only had one meal tonight. Now that he's free, he's a little tired, but he doesn't want to sleep.
After taking a shower, I sat alone on the sofa, quietly looking at my phone case.
After a hectic Saturday, Zhang Youyou slept in comfortably on Sunday. When she woke up, it was already 2 PM. Li Donghao wasn't there when she came out, but the study door was closed. She ignored it and went to wash up. When she came back, she saw a note on the dining table.
"I work in the study, and there's food in the kitchen. Remember to eat."
Frustrated, Zhang Youyou stuck the note back on the table and went to the kitchen to find something to eat. The rice was still warm in the rice cooker, but the dishes in the wok were already cold. How could she eat such cold dishes?
He turned back to the study door and knocked. The door opened quickly from the inside, and Li Donghao stood in the doorway wearing a gray hoodie.
"woke up?"
"The food's getting cold." Zhang Youyou pointed towards the kitchen. Li Donghao paused for a moment and said, "Wait three minutes."
Sure enough, three minutes later Li Donghao came out to heat up the food for her, while Zhang Youyou was still wearing her pajamas, curled up on the sofa sending WeChat messages. Li Donghao couldn't help but frown.
"Dinner is ready, let's go eat."
Zhang Youyou said "Oh" without even looking up.
Li Donghao, unable to bear it any longer, snatched her phone, which angered Zhang Youyou.
"What are you doing? I'm chatting!"
"Let's eat first, then chat!"
Zhang Youyou glared at him with displeasure, then said slowly, "Then I'll tell him."
Helpless, Li Donghao had no choice but to give her his hand.
Zhang Youyou glanced at Li Donghao, who was staring at her, and said to Meng Xiao, "I'm going to eat first, we'll talk later."
I didn't put down my phone and go eat until I received an OK emoji from the other person.
Although she couldn't see the content, she vaguely felt that the person she was chatting with was Meng Xiao, whom she had met yesterday, so she came to the dining table and asked curiously, "Who are you chatting with? You seem so happy?"
Zhang Youyou gave him a malicious look, then took a big bite of food before speaking, "That's my private matter."
Li Donghao chuckled awkwardly, "I'm just curious. After all, you're so pretty, there must be a lot of people who like you. I have to help you vet them, otherwise Grandpa will beat me up when we get back!"
Zhang Youyou thought about it carefully and felt that what he said made sense. Her grandfather had strongly recommended that she come here because Li Donghao could take care of her. Now that she might have someone she was interested in, she could say hello to him. However, she couldn't let him affect her normal friendships.
"Are you trying to keep an eye on me or are you trying to monitor me?" Zhang Youyou asked warily.
Li Donghao was startled when she saw through his little scheme, but he quickly regained his composure. "Of course I'll check him out. Men are the best judges of men. If he turns out to be a scumbag, I can help you out. Besides, you helped me get An Qi, so I'll help you out in return!"
The first sentence makes sense, but the rest just doesn't sound right.
"Forget it, I want to see for myself." Zhang Youyou chose to trust her sixth sense.
Seeing that she didn't say anything, Li Donghao didn't dare to press her too hard. He just told her not to trust others easily. Zhang Youyou nodded, and Li Donghao got up to pour her some water.
Although the dishes were reheated, it has to be admitted that Li Donghao's cooking skills are still quite good. It's unexpected that the aloof teaching assistant can cook. Zhang Youyou thinks that being able to cook can be included in her criteria for choosing a partner.
