The number of replies to Gu Qingyan's comment exceeded the total number of comments to Xu Zhaozhao's comment.
[My goodness, Yu Yu is three years old, not thirty!]
[Did Xu Zhaozhao say he needed to work on his thighs more, and he said Xu Zhaozhao's son needed to work on his arms more? He's so vindictive, isn't he? [laughing and crying emoji]]
[He's only three years old, he can't train, he can't train! I heard that building muscle too early will stunt his growth. Yu Yu has to grow into a handsome guy over 185cm tall!!]
[My dream is shattered, sisters! This is definitely not something a real father would say. How could my ship, which I was shipping just a second ago, collapse like this? [crying][crying]]
...
Xu Zhaozhao, of course, didn't see the commotion on Weibo. She bent down and gently lifted the band-aid off Gu Yulin's arm.
I breathed a sigh of relief when I saw that the bleeding had stopped.
"Let's go shopping, Yu Yu."
Xu Zhaozhao's eyes gleamed with excitement, "As a reward for my baby not crying during the vaccination, you can choose any reward you like."
Is there a reward for not crying when getting a vaccine?
"I'm a big kid now."
He raised his head, took Xu Zhaozhao's hand, and stood up from the chair in the rest area. "Let's go pick out a gift."
The two walked hand in hand out of the hospital entrance, only to find that the driver was gone.
As Xu Zhaozhao was wondering, she saw a tall figure leaning against the low-key Rolls-Royce next to her, who looked very familiar.
He was wearing a black mask, but Xu Zhaozhao could recognize Gu Qingyan at a glance from his eyebrows and eyes.
Without a doubt, this guy must have kicked the driver out; otherwise, the driver wouldn't have left his post without a word.
Gu Qingyan was looking down at his phone, and the phone in his palm looked particularly small because of his large hand.
The phone screen was lit up, showing the chat page with Chi Li.
Chi Li: I just saw your wife; she's at the hospital.
He saw the family driver as soon as he stepped out the door, confirming that Chi Li's words were true.
Gu Qingyan sent the driver back and waited for Xu Zhaozhao by himself.
He also casually replied to Xu Zhaozhao's Weibo post.
Xu Zhaozhao led Gu Yulin toward him, and as if sensing his presence, he looked up and met Xu Zhaozhao's eyes.
She happened to walk up to him and was startled by his sudden gaze. She blurted out, "What's wrong with you?"
She originally wanted to ask why Gu Qingyan was at the hospital...
Gu Qingyan didn't mind her question, nor did he intend to answer it. Instead, he changed the subject and asked, "Why did you come to the hospital?"
He replied to Xu Zhaozhao's Weibo post; how could he not know? He was just asking a question he already knew the answer to.
She waved Gu Yulin's little arm, "I brought Yuyu to get vaccinated."
The arm with the bandage on it was exposed to Gu Qingyan's eyes. He just glanced at it and didn't say anything.
He turned around, opened the car door, and asked Xu Zhaozhao, "Where to next?"
"Let's go to the mall!"
The air conditioning in the car made Xu Zhaozhao want to crawl inside immediately, while she took the time to reply to Gu Qingyan.
Soon, the three arrived at the largest shopping mall in the capital.
Xu Zhaozhao led Gu Yulin out of the car and said to Gu Qingyan, "If you're busy, you can leave first. I'll have the driver pick you up later."
Unexpectedly, Gu Qingyan got out of the driver's seat the next second.
Beep.
He locked the car and took Xu Zhaozhao's other hand. "I'll stay with you."
It's me who's with you, not me with you all.
The poor fish was ignored once again.
Xu Zhaozhao looked at the bustling crowd... and silently took out two masks, putting them on for herself and Yu Yu as well.
"Fish, what do you want?"
After entering the mall, Xu Zhaozhao asked Yu Yu, who thought for a moment and then pointed in a direction: "Let's go take a look over there."
"good."
The three were lost in the crowd, only Xu Zhaozhao in the middle kept the other two from getting separated.
Soon, Yu Yu stopped at a pottery shop. "Mom, I want to play with mud."
Xu Zhaozhao nodded and walked into the pottery shop.
Fortunately, the restaurant had a private room with three round plates, which Xu Zhaozhao easily took.
Otherwise, the mask on my face would be too much of a nuisance.
To avoid unnecessary trouble, Xu Zhaozhao even skipped the guidance from the shop assistants—although even if they had guided her, she wouldn't have been able to create anything special.
Her poor handiwork skills have been a problem for a long time.
Yu Yu picked up the mud and spun it on the disc, quickly creating many basic shapes of vases.
Xu Zhaozhao's hands were itching to try it too, so she sat down and started spinning it, but she couldn't spin it into a perfect fish shape. It always broke in her hand halfway through.
Looking up at Gu Qingyan standing to the side, she asked, "Aren't you really going to try it out?"
"How old are you? Still playing in the mud?"
Xu Zhaozhao seemed to see mockery in his eyes.
"This is art, you don't understand."
Gu Qingyan didn't respond to her words, but just stood aside and watched her silently.
When she got bored of playing the spinning wheel, Xu Zhaozhao started making clay figurines.
Although I'm not very good at it, I played with mud a lot when I was a kid, and I quickly sculpted a small fish.
It's a bit ugly, and its lines aren't very smooth, but you can still barely tell it's a fish.
"Fish, look, look!"
"nice."
Gu Yulin looked up, then praised him, and said, "I'll have the shop assistant dry it for me, as a reward from my mom."
Xu Zhaozhao was taken aback.
Is the reward just this ugly fish?
Just as Xu Zhaozhao was about to say something, Gu Yulin took the fish and went to find the shop assistant, not giving her a chance to speak at all.
Suddenly, a shadow fell over her, landing on the disc in front of her.
As soon as he turned around, Gu Qingyan squatted down, and the two almost bumped noses together.
"Make one for me too."
He spoke, his peach blossom eyes looking at Xu Zhaozhao, his emotions unreadable.
"cut."
Xu Zhaozhao scoffed lightly, "You make one for me, and I'll make one for you. It's a trade."
Didn't you not want to play in the mud? You're the one who has to play!
Xu Zhaozhao didn't want to admit that it was some evil factor in her own heart that was at play.
“Impossible,” he said coldly.
The air was quiet for about three minutes.
Gu Qingyan looked at Xu Zhaozhao, and Xu Zhaozhao looked back at him defiantly, neither of them giving an inch.
Finally, Gu Qing reached out and slowly unbuttoned his cuffs, rolled up his sleeves, revealing his fair and muscular forearms.
He sat down in the empty seat next to Xu Zhaozhao and said, "Okay, let's switch."
Xu Zhaozhao watched as he scooped some mud from the bucket next to him and placed it on the round basin.
The dark brown soil stained his fair fingers, leaving specks on the back of his hands, creating a striking contrast.
Fortunately, it didn't soil his Buddhist prayer beads.
Even though his face was calm, the bulging veins on his forearms showed that he was enduring the unfamiliar thing in his palm.
He didn't spin the disc; like Xu Zhaozhao, he molded the clay.
Xu Zhaozhao suppressed a laugh: "Take a breath, I'm really afraid you'll suffocate."
