Chapter 20 Kiss

Chapter 20 Kiss

Upon hearing this, Xu Shaoting's gaze swept over her dress, then down to her exposed legs, before finally fixing on her face.

"no."

"Why?"

She thought he would agree.

"You will be photographed."

Wen Jia didn't seem to mind, brushing her cheek with one hand. "I'm used to being photographed; it's my job."

Xu Shaoting felt she was very drunk, so he made his point clearer: "I will be photographed with you."

The air froze for two seconds. These words completely snapped Wen Jia out of her daze. She was a little dejected and gave up the idea, muttering, "Okay... let's go home."

The atmosphere inside the Maybach was calm, and the ride was smooth, but this time, Wen Jia was no longer in the mood to sleep.

She leaned on her hand, as if the alcohol had emboldened her, and asked, "Mr. Xu, do you know any other female celebrities?"

Xu Shaoting looked at her calmly, as if trying to see right through her. "What do you want to ask?"

In fact, Wen Jia took a roundabout approach. What she really wanted to ask was, "Chairman Xu, do you really know how to play around with female celebrities?"

Unbeknownst to him, ever since Zhou Jingcheng said those words to her, curiosity, accompanied by confusion, had been growing in her heart, and it was developing faster and faster, eventually turning into a furry ball that kept scratching at her heart.

In the dead of night, she lay in bed with her eyes closed. It wasn't that she hadn't thought carefully about what Zhou Jingcheng had said. She also wondered if Xu Shaoting, who seemed like a gentleman who was unmoved by anything, was really as fickle as Zhou Jingcheng said.

Does he really have affairs with female celebrities in private?

She couldn't figure it out.

Right now, alcohol is battling with reason, with the latter narrowly winning. Wen Jia opened her mouth, but ultimately swallowed the question she couldn't bring herself to ask, shook her head, and acted as if nothing had happened.

Xu Shaoting chuckled, as if he knew what she wanted to ask, "No matter what Zhou Jingcheng tells you, don't believe it."

“He told me that Chairman Xu is a gentleman of high moral character and integrity, and I believe him.”

Xu Shaoting looked out the window for half a minute, then turned his head and stared deeply at the woman beside him, finally saying, "Don't think so highly of me."

-

The Maybach once again visited her little villa, and the car came to a smooth stop in front of the gate.

Wen Jia carefully took out a mask and put it on, then unbuckled her seatbelt. "Mr. Xu, do you have time to come up for tea today?"

Xu Shaoting paused, seemingly waiting for her to ask that question. Before she could even open the car door, he got out first.

"Of course."

The two walked through the small courtyard. Wen Jia's ten-centimeter stilettos were difficult to walk on the stone path, and she almost fell to the side. Xu Shaoting quickly grabbed her wrist and pulled her into his arms.

Wen Jia unlocked the fingerprint lock, and Xu Shaoting opened the door for her. Inside the living room, Yu Kaiqing was working on the sofa again. Hearing the noise, she looked up and greeted Wen Jia as usual.

"You're back──────────!"

The word "come" was stretched longer and longer as her mouth slowly opened.

She looked up from the dizzying computer screen and saw this subtle, bizarre, yet perfectly logical scene—

The man had one arm around Wen Jia's waist and the other hand braced against the door. He was impeccably dressed in a coat, vest, and tie, his expression indifferent. The woman in his arms had her small face almost entirely hidden by a mask, with only her eyes showing. She looked dazed, and a wool shawl was hanging down, almost dragging on the floor...

Xu Shaoting seemed unconcerned about Kaiqing's surprise. Even at this moment, he maintained excellent manners, nodding to her in greeting, "Miss Yu," before adding, "She's drunk."

Yu Kaiqing quickly stood up to greet her.

Wen Jia kept her promise and immediately instructed when she arrived, "Make a cup of tea for Chairman Xu. Take that...that thing I bought last week...something pure golden bud Darjeeling, and make ten cups for Chairman Xu."

Xu Shaoting took a few steps with Wen Jia in his arms, then turned to Yu Kaiqing and said, "No need to trouble yourself."

Then he said to the person in his arms, "I'll take you back to your room."

Wen Jia hadn't taken off her high heels, and they thudded against the stairs with a dull thud. After only two thuds, she tried to break free from Xu Shaoting's embrace, saying, "I'm not drunk..."

"You're drunk."

“I can walk by myself…” Wen Jia placed her hand on his chest.

Xu Shaoting then complied with her and loosened his grip on her hand slightly.

Wen Jia suddenly lost her footing, and she barely managed to steady herself by holding onto the wall with one hand, her fingernails almost digging into it.

Xu Shaoting looked down at her, observing her unsteady body, her dazed state, and her stubborn expression.

He smiled, not mockingly, but helplessly, and a large hand returned to her waist. "Still saying you can walk?"

"It means it can walk."

This time, Xu Shaoting didn't give in to her. He wrapped one arm around her upper body and lifted her legs together with the other, carrying her horizontally upstairs.

Wen Jia was stunned for half a second, then started to wriggle in his arms after she came to her senses. She moved her slender legs and said, "I don't want you to hold me."

"You don't want me to hold you? Why? Give me a reason and I'll put you down."

Xu Shaoting held her firmly in place, and no matter how much she made a fuss, his tall figure did not budge an inch.

Yu Kaiqing listened to his voice grow softer and softer at the top of the stairs, until it seemed to tinge with laughter. She watched his figure recede into the distance, and finally, he seemed to gently look down at the woman in his arms.

She seemed to understand, yet also seemed not to understand. In the end, she shook her head and walked away on her own.

The lights in Wen Jia's room were off. Xu Shaoting gently placed her on the wine-red velvet sofa before he could reach the light switch by the bedside.

The soft, warm colors instantly spread, but only a small portion of it; the rest of the space remained shrouded in darkness, except for the area where the two were.

Xu Shaoting straightened up, looked down at the woman on the sofa, his eyes following her every move without missing a single second.

His back was broad, his shoulders straight, and as he lowered his head, a neat circle of his white shirt was revealed outside his coat, clinging to his neck, making him appear restrained yet aloof.

Wen Jia opened her eyes, which were not quite clear, and reached out to hook his tie. Xu Shaoting followed her lead and leaned down slightly with her movements. He placed his hands on either side of the sofa, and now Wen Jia was completely in his arms, in his territory.

"You are the first man to enter my room, Mr. Xu."

Xu Shaoting's lips were tight, and he spoke slowly, "Is that so?"

Wen Jia seemed to think about it seriously for a moment, "Oh no, you're not. I used to have a little male dog, he was."

Xu Shaoting let her grab his tie. He raised an eyebrow and leaned closer. "Comparing me to a dog?"

Wen Jia smiled and said, "They're all men, what's the difference? Don't hold it against me, Chairman Xu."

Even Zhou Jingcheng is not worthy of being compared to him. It's rare to see someone so bold as to compare him to other species for the first time.

Xu Shaoting's sharp, defined jawline seemed to twitch slightly. His eyes were deep and unfathomable, his gaze fixed on the woman below him, without uttering a single word.

Normally, Wen Jia should have noticed that Xu Shaoting was acting strangely long ago, but at this moment her mind was foggy and she was not fully conscious. When she looked up, she could only see a handsome face that was close to hers. She was thinking how handsome this man was and had no time to analyze his emotions.

"Chairman Xu, you're so tall, come closer to me."

"What do you want to do?" Xu Shaoting smiled, a rare moment of playful expression on his face.

Wen Jia didn't answer him, but instead pulled his tie even harder, their passionate breaths completely intertwining.

She had drunk wine tonight; the aroma of red wine overpowered the scents of flowers and fruits, carrying the sweet fragrance of ripe, bursting red grapes. As he smelled it, his heart sank.

No one had ever seen him like this before. His eyes were devoid of any warmth; he simply stared at you, calmly and objectively, but his lips were curved in a smile.

No one had ever seen this expression before – not only the employees and business partners, but Wen Jia and even Lin Youzhe. So no one knew what Xu Shaoting would do next.

The next second, his large hands suddenly gripped the back of Wen Jia's head. Caught off guard, Wen Jia felt the sudden resistance and let out a soft gasp.

Before her voice had even fully faded, she could no longer utter a sound, for her lips were completely sealed by another soft but cold pair of lips.

Xu Shaoting tilted his head slightly and kissed her almost forcefully.

They still came.

What was bound to happen has finally happened.

Xu Shaoting held her lips to his for almost half a minute before he began to suckle her. Wen Jia's heart, which had stopped moving with his actions, began to receive fresh blood and started to beat rhythmically.

Wen Jia obediently tilted her head back, letting him turn and suckle.

From that almost-kiss in the car, an invisible tension inexplicably tightened between them, and it grew tighter and tighter as they drew closer.

When did it start to stop?

The moment he made her smile at the dinner table, that string tightened a little; the moment she made him wear an expression that wasn't his, that string tightened even more. Now, they were so close, and the string began to be pulled and tugged at by an invisible force from both ends.

Ultimately, it collapsed.

Both of them knew that the string was destined to break, either at this moment or in the next second.

She has filmed kissing scenes before, but those were just acting, which allowed her to remain calm and composed.

She gripped the velvet sofa beneath her tightly with both hands. The damn material had become slippery at this moment, and there was almost no point of leverage for her fingers. She had no choice but to climb onto Xu Shaoting's shoulders and grab his suit jacket.

Xu Shaoting felt the force and touched her dress with one hand, wanting to take things further.

The dress was crumpled from being clutched. Wen Jia, unusually lucid, leaned against his shoulder and gently pushed him away, panting, "This dress needs to be returned..."

Xu Shaoting glanced down at the fine dress she was wearing, his movements still eager to kiss her again. "I'll buy you a new one."

Their lips met once more.

The kiss lasted for ten minutes. Xu Shaoting's offensive intensified rather than diminished, becoming more and more fierce, invading her lips and tongue, going deeper and deeper, like a wild lion that wanted to claim the entire grassland as its territory before it would stop.

Wen Jia's patience was naturally not as good as his. After kissing for ten minutes, her breathing became disordered, and she had to pant slightly to steady her breathing. Even while panting, Xu Shaoting's kisses never fell, and she was blocked by his kisses, making soft panting sounds.

Two minutes later, Wen Jia's hand slid down, and she half-heartedly pushed him away from his kiss.

Xu Shaoting smiled, looking down at the woman in his arms:

"Want more?"
