Fan Shengmei gritted her teeth and finally raised her hand to knock on Meng Yanchen's office door. "Come in," Meng Yanchen's voice came from inside, tinged with weariness. Fan Shengmei slowly pushed open the door, looked at Meng Yanchen, and mustered her courage to say, "Yanchen, I want to talk to you. I... have a way to help you." Meng Yanchen looked up, a hint of surprise and expectation flashing in his eyes.
"What's the solution?" Meng Yanchen stood up, walked around the desk, and stood in front of Fan Shengmei.
Fan Shengmei took a deep breath and said, "I've been gathering information these past few days and discovered that this crisis wasn't due to your poor decision-making, but rather a deliberate act by our competitors. They bribed some media outlets to deliberately create public opinion and try to put the company in trouble." As she spoke, she took a stack of documents from her bag and handed them to Meng Yanchen.
Meng Yanchen took the documents and quickly flipped through them, his expression gradually becoming serious. "Where did you get these documents?"
"I used some old connections and with Lin Yue's help, and it took some effort to collect them," Fan Shengmei explained.
Meng Yanchen looked at Fan Shengmei, his eyes filled with emotion: "Thank you, Shengmei."
Fan Shengmei shook her head slightly: "Now is not the time to say thank you. We need to find a way to make the company's senior management believe these things and dispel their doubts about you."
Meng Yanchen nodded: "You're right, I'll call a high-level meeting right away."
Soon, the conference room of the Fu Group's senior management was filled with people. Meng Yanchen sat in the main seat, and Fan Shengmei stood to the side. She took a deep breath and began her presentation.
"Distinguished leaders, I know that some of you have doubts about President Meng's decisions during this crisis, but I hope you can hear me out first." Fan Shengmei's voice was clear and firm, her gaze sweeping over everyone present.
The meeting room fell silent, all eyes fixed on Fan Shengmei. The clock on the wall ticked, as if keeping time for her speech. The cool air from the air conditioner seemed to lower the room temperature even further.
“Through my investigation over the past few days, I have discovered that this crisis is a conspiracy meticulously planned by our competitors,” Fan Shengmei said, distributing the documents to the senior executives. “Please take a look. These documents contain detailed evidence of their bribing of the media and spreading rumors. When the crisis occurred, President Meng’s decisions were based on the situation at the time and were aimed at minimizing the company’s losses.”
A senior executive frowned, looking at the documents in his hand, and questioned, "Are these documents authentic and reliable?"
Fan Shengmei was prepared. She said, "These materials have been verified from multiple sources, and some of them are leaks from insiders of our competitors. In addition, I contacted the relevant media, and they admitted that they were tempted by profits to publish those false reports."
Another senior executive spoke up: "Even so, President Meng should have been more decisive in dealing with the crisis to avoid damage to the company's reputation."
Fan Shengmei smiled slightly and said, "President Meng's decision at the time seemed conservative, but it was actually waiting for the right opportunity. If we acted rashly, we might fall into the opponent's trap and suffer even greater losses. Now that we have the evidence, we can take more powerful measures to fight back."
Meng Yanchen looked at Fan Shengmei, his heart filled with gratitude. He continued, "Everyone, Ms. Fan is right. This crisis has served as a wake-up call for us. We cannot just look at the surface problems; we must analyze the underlying reasons more deeply. Next, I will formulate a series of countermeasures to rebuild the company's reputation and market competitiveness."
After the meeting, Meng Yanchen and Fan Shengmei walked down the corridor. Meng Yanchen looked at Fan Shengmei with tenderness in his eyes: "Shengmei, thanks to you today, I really don't know how I would have convinced them if it weren't for you."
Fan Shengmei smiled gently: "Don't mention it, we're on the same page. Besides, I don't want the company to be affected by these misunderstandings."
They exchanged a glance, both seeing unwavering determination and trust in each other's eyes. At that moment, sunlight streamed through the window, bathing them in its glow, as if dispelling the gloom that had lingered earlier.
However, whether Fan Shengmei's efforts can completely dispel the doubts of the company's senior management about Meng Yanchen, and how Meng Yanchen and Fan Shengmei will further deal with the crisis, remains to be seen.
