Zhu Jiang didn't think much of it: "It's a bit unlucky. We've been pretty diligent in updating videos lately, but our fan base just isn't increasing. How can we even get a chance to appear on variety shows like this?"
I don't mean to force myself to sleep during the day: "I will do my best and leave the rest to fate."
Zhu Jiang sighed and placed the things she wanted on the kitchen counter. "I've left them here for you. I'll be back first. Call me if you need anything."
Zhu Jiang went downstairs again after Zhu Mian nodded.
Not long after, Zhu Mian's agent Liu Wei came to visit.
Xiaomian went to get the red wine that had been aerated earlier: "Sister Liu, can you help me find a wine glass?"
Liu Wei changed his shoes and walked into the open kitchen. He opened the cupboard and looked for a goblet. "Hey, I asked the company today, and they said there's no room for negotiation. You can only be on that variety show if you reach five million followers this month."
Zhumian put the wine on the bar and sneered, "I guessed it."
Liu Wei didn't understand: "Why do you want to be on that variety show so badly? It's a bit popular, but not super famous. There's no need to be on it."
"Yes." Xiaomian pushed the wine in front of her. "There's a competition in our journalism department. The content is to write a short biography of a journalist's predecessor, similar to the story of a certain reporter going deep into a black workshop."
Liu Wei didn't understand: "What does this have to do with you being on a variety show?"
He sat down and said, "If I'm going to write, I have to write from an angle that no one else has heard of. It would be great if I could interview the person involved. There just happens to be a senior journalist on that variety show who I really admire."
Liu Wei reacted: "You mean the good-looking news anchor? I remember his name was He Anzhi?"
Zhu Jiang bought some cooked food and took it out of the bag. "It doesn't matter what he looks like. This senior went undercover right after graduating from college and solved a kidnapping case that shocked the whole country. He later became a host."
Liu Wei nodded in sudden realization: "You want to interview him first, because you're close to him?"
Zhumian poured out his wine: "Yes, it was because of that senior that I considered journalism my dream. When I first saw his news, I thought he was a hero, so of course I had to write about him when writing a biography."
Liu Wei tutted her tongue: "She's from NTU, she's so ambitious and self-disciplined at such a young age. Unlike a middle-aged woman like me, who spends all her time focusing on her husband and children besides work."
Xiaomian put the bottle down and said, "Come on, you're already blowing my top before we even go on the variety show."
Liu Wei smiled and said nothing more. She turned the bottle to see what kind of wine she bought: "TIGNANELLO, is it translated as Tianna?"
Xiaomian said casually: "Yes."
Liu Wei remembered something and asked curiously, "You should know Tianna's joke."
Xiaomian pushed one of the cups in front of her and curled the corners of his lips lazily: "I've heard that everyone will say 'Oh my god' when they take the first sip, so Tianna is truly worthy of her reputation."
Liu Wei smiled knowingly and swirled the glass. The rich ruby red lingered in the glass, shimmering like a pomegranate. "It's also Italy's first Super Tuscan. You have quite a taste for wine."
Zhumian took a sip, and the rich flavors of tobacco and black fruit filled his mouth. "I became interested in wine in middle school and learned a little about it. Mainly because Italian wines usually linger for two or three days, but Tianna can be drunk after just a short time after opening the bottle. I think that's great. I don't like things that take a long time to react to."
Liu Wei was lost in thought, and found it strange: "You know so much about wine, but you don't have a wine rack at home?"
As if remembering something, Xiaomian lowered his eyes to look at the cold and smooth wine: "I was interested in it before, but not so much now."
Even a little disgusted.
On the other side, Shi Wang opened the door and found that the apartment had been cleaned thoroughly.
This house has been bought for three years, and this is his first time stepping into it.
Shi Zhongjing had a very distant relationship with him and they hardly contacted each other, so even though Shi Zhongjing bought this house three years ago, he had never lived in it.
This time I only plan to stay for a few days.
Shi Wang had just closed the door when his cell phone rang again.
He took it out of his pocket and saw that it was his mother.
He picked up the phone, and immediately Yang E's voice rang out: "Son, why did you hang up so quickly? Mommy still wants to talk to you."
Shi Wang Qili asked, "What's the matter?"
Yang E's voice was flattering. "Your father is opening a new winery in Gangcheng. Are you really not going to cut the ribbon with him? It would be great if all the shareholders could get to know you."
Shi Wang said coldly: "No time."
Yang E continued, "Then Mom will have someone send you two bottles of our new wine."
Shi Wang refused directly: "No, I can buy it myself, there's no need to go to so much trouble."
Just as he was about to hang up, Yang E's hesitant voice rang out from the other end: "Shi Wang... do you still care about that matter?"
Shi Wang paused for a second, and then hung up the phone the next second.
And on the other side of the community.
Liu Wei casually asked, "Why don't you like wine now?"
Zhumian seemed to have thought of something, his eyes were unreadable, he lowered his eyes and poured the wine: "I don't like people who lose their sense of proportion after drinking. They are completely different people than before drinking."
Liu Wei sensed something was wrong and didn't ask any further questions. Instead, he asked, "Then how did you get to know about alcohol when you were in middle school?"
Xiaomian curled his lips and laughed at himself: "Maybe I'm just being sentimental."
In the past, she wanted to see the scenery that Shi Wang had seen, and she would try to walk the path he had walked, trying hard to understand everything about him, just wanting to understand him a little more.
But now when I think about it, I just feel stupid.
