Miracle

Miracle

When Ke Zhixing faced them directly, he remained aloof, standing still and waiting for them to appear. The two children quieted down, and Ke Zhixing didn't say a word, silently staring at a corner ahead.

When Chi Wangyue came out, Yan Tianhua was leaning against one side. The two of them were silent for a moment. But Chi Wangyue quickly found a topic to talk about.

How did you get here?

Ke Zhixing pondered for less than half a second before slowly saying, "We've been here ever since then."

From that time onward, both of them knew the truth. And she might be the key to leaving this place.

Chi Wangyue glanced silently at Yan Tianhua, who ignored him and looked directly at Ke Zhixing. The other woman was completely at ease, and the two little ones around her instinctively became wary, silently surrounding her in a protective posture.

The standoff gradually dissipated, and relations eased in an instant.

Chi Wangyue looked at them and said softly, "Let's go together. You are more familiar with the roads here, so you can lead the way first, and then we'll figure out a way to get out."

Ke Zhixing agreed immediately, but she didn't say a single unnecessary word.

Her actions reflected her attitude. Tong Shi and Tong Hua, the two little ones, relaxed and started chattering. Ke Zhixing glanced at them and sighed silently.

Chi Wangyue met their gaze, and the two immediately looked away.

“Come with us,” Ke Zhixing said simply.

Their initial impressions were vague, since their entrance was interrupted by a friend of Du's. Besides, they had no prior interaction.

There are two more people on this road, but not much has changed. The only difference is that there's now an end point.

Light shone from the intersection. Ke Zhixing and his companions had been walking for a while, and now that they saw the light, their pace slowed. After confirming there was no danger, they arrived at this spot.

Zhen Duye stood not far from them.

"Hello, welcome."

Is it a conspiracy theory, or a blatant act of open and covert attacks?

Jiang Meng set aside, coldly scrutinizing them. Ultimately, they were still only acquainted once.

Chen An was secretly in a corner where no one knew him. The remaining person also landed in a less conspicuous place.

Chi Wangyue had already recognized something when a passage suddenly appeared in the strange room.

"They're luring us into a trap." But knowing this doesn't stop them from talking.

Du Ye got back to the point: he set up the scheme, and he was responsible for closing it down.

"I have something to tell you all." He cleared his throat and looked at Chi Wangyue.

"I did indeed found this old inn, but I haven't been here for a long time because I'm looking for the answer to something."

Du Ye spoke in a low voice, looking into the distance. His eyes were misty, concealing his thoughts as if he wanted to say something but hesitated.

“Shangri-La-like villages shouldn’t have existed for a long time… What I mean is, someone defied fate and actually succeeded in changing it. This is an anchor point I created, stemming from a cause I planted myself back then.”

Du Ye is skilled in magic tricks, which, in simple terms, is to play tricks on people and create illusions. On a deeper level, it is to create illusions that obscure the sky and the sun, in order to confuse others.

He knew he had been involved in what happened back then. However, after he left and went elsewhere, he met these exceptionally loyal friends.

“This village is alive. The illusion of its existence is also real. So, everyone here, except for the old innkeeper, is an illusion. But Wen Liang and the others are unaware of this.” Du Ye’s voice was cold.

"Do you have any other questions? Now that we have time, I can answer them slowly." Perhaps it was because he had finally spoken his mind for a long time, Du Ye suddenly relaxed.

Ke Zhixing was always silent, a quiet, girlish fortune teller. Her calm eyes looked at them. "You will have good luck, but there might be some turbulence right now. That's all I can see and calculate."

Du Ye suddenly smiled and said, "Thank you, young lady."

Tong Shi mumbled incoherently, "Who are you calling 'girl'?"

Fairy Tale pulled him back and silently shook her head at him.

"The fortune teller must have her reasons; she can predict the future. But it's all vague. After all, fate is always an elusive thing," Fairy Tale murmured.

Tong Shi nodded in agreement, "Yes, yes. My daughter is right!"

Chi Wangyue smiled and looked at him, "Little friend, where does your confidence come from?"

"My fortune teller! My fortune teller's master is also very capable. Tong Jiusheng is my master!"

Ke Zhixing glanced at Tong Shi. Tong Shi had belatedly revealed her true colors!

Helpless, he could only reveal his clean white teeth and smile broadly, displaying a warm smile that seemed to forgive the entire world.

However, Ke Zhixing was not fooled by his tricks.

With quick eyes and hands, Tong Hua immediately covered his little companion and stood aside at the opportune moment.

"Ahem, let's get back to the main topic." Yan Tianhua looked at Du Ye, who seemed to have many questions, but after some thought, only Qi Yuan's instruction remained in his mind.

"He just wanted to protect this place. But, as the saying goes, the world is cruel..." Yan Tianhua summarized.

He asked, "Did he know you did it?"

Yan Tianhua didn't reveal who "he" was, but Du Ye smiled bitterly. He knew the person in his heart: Qi Yuan, someone even Li Er barely knew, based only on what his older brother had said.

However, Du Ye had seen him with her own eyes and witnessed what he had done...

"He doesn't know, but the truth is harsh. He just needs to do what he does, and that's enough. As for the rest, let's leave it at that."

Du Ye spoke through a veil of mist, as if speaking in riddles, but Chi Wangyue suddenly looked up, simultaneously glancing at Yan Tianhua. They didn't make eye contact, yet it was as if they had looked at each other many times before.

"That's all he wanted. To protect, nothing more..."

“I know. So, this is all a mirage, a dream that should end and be shattered.” Du Ye looked at Yan Tianhua with a puzzled expression.

Yan Tianhua remained silent, yet he understood. He wasn't far from Chi Wangyue, but just looking at him was enough to lift his spirits.

"He's here, Chi Wangyue, Junior Brother..." Yan Tianhua murmured silently in his heart, as if a force was supporting his seemingly taller body.

He turned his back to everyone in front of him, lifted his somewhat tired body, and then swallowed his bitterness, hiding it beneath his exceptionally calm demeanor.

Chi Wangyue's heart skipped a beat.

Subsequently, the system panel changed to: [Yan Tianhua's favorability increased by 9%]

Currently, the favorability rating has reached 10%.

Like a rocket launching into the sky, even though Chi Wangyue was just standing there and didn't do anything, his goodwill rating was dutifully displayed. Chi Wangyue glanced at Yan Tianhua for a moment, but noticed nothing amiss.

This matter is temporarily put on hold.

The dream of a paradise will always exist, but there are a group of ignorant people guarding it, and there is also someone secretly hiding the answer he truly knows from everyone.

"In the art of magic, who is truly in the game? It's as frustrating and helpless as the person who sets up the scheme ultimately getting themselves caught up in it." Du Ye sometimes pondered this question, and only then did he feel truly alone.

Jiang Meng would argue with him, Duan Huai would patiently and earnestly try to smooth things over, and Chen An would clean up their messes like an older brother. He was much better off without them. He was free from old responsibilities and the friendships of his noisy days in the small shop.

He was still alive. Du Ye leaned against the wall beside him in a nonchalant manner, the corner of his mouth silently turning up slightly.

The atmosphere between Yan Tianhua and his companions was quickly disrupted, for no other reason than this.

It's simply because they have such a group of teammates.

Bai Hanxin woke up and immediately turned her gaze to Li Er. Li Er, with limited abilities, was ultimately helplessly and unwillingly brought to Bai Hanxin by the neck.

The scene was marked by a loud "boom" as the female warrior descended from the sky.

The first thing the "fairy descended to earth" did was to look at Du Ye and his group with fiery eyes, and Li Er was also affected. She became arrogant with the air of an enemy.

Seeing the intensity of the argument, Chi Wangyue pinched the bridge of her nose. "Bai Hanxin always manages to surprise us..."

Yan Tianhua stood beside them, patiently and indulgently playing along with their antics.

Before Bai Hanxin could even make a move, another side entered the fray, the two seamlessly transitioning as if it had been pre-arranged.

Chi Wangyue thought to herself, "Even a lucky break takes some effort. Now, I don't know what kind of incredible luck he's had, but all of this has happened at once. It's like good things just don't happen, and bad things keep piling up on his face."

In an instant, he appeared to have shrunk by several centimeters.

Yan Tianhua observed Chi Wangyue's behavior and kept it to herself. "He's so cute," she finally concluded.

This group happened to be Yi Yannian and Meng Qu, whom they knew well. One arrived with a smile, the other with a cold face. They looked like they had never gotten along in eight lifetimes and were just looking for trouble.

Upon seeing Bai Hanxin, Yi Yannian first greeted him warmly, then assessed the situation.

Reason told him, "Something's not right." But, in action, he decisively walked aside, deciding not to get involved and to observe the situation. He encountered many unpleasant things along the way. Meng Qu silently accompanied him.

But Yi Yannian held back from criticizing this fellow disciple. The two of them together created an emoji of "bearing humiliation and hardship" and "taking things lightly."

Wen Liang quietly joined them like a ghost. Li Er saw him and gave a silent, bitter smile.

At this point, what was already a tragic situation took an unexpected turn, becoming even more chaotic.

When Chi Wenliu entered, he glanced around at them, sighed, and exhaled softly, feeling somewhat dejected. Gou Xunhuan, however, ignited a fire. They didn't understand the full picture, and suddenly, with a large crowd gathered, a powerful force of confrontation arose.

Chi Wangyue looked at everyone and smiled helplessly. Noticing Ke Zhixing's quiet, still silence, he smiled at him. Perhaps having divined that he was a person of great fortune, Ke Zhixing inevitably returned an awkward smile, somewhat belatedly. It was cold, yet literally beautiful.

Chi Wangyue took a few deep breaths. Faced with the situation, she had no choice but to try anything, even if it seemed hopeless.

"Everyone, let's discuss this properly. Is that alright?"

In an instant, his voice echoed, and all the discerning eyes turned to him. He was like a central, piercingly bright lamp, scrutinized by everyone.

"..." Okay, he admitted it.

Chi Wangyue and Yan Tianhua exchanged a glance. Yan Tianhua, by her own actions, gave her junior brother a chance to catch his breath.

Beneath Chi Wangyue's calm expression lay a surge of emotion within her, a feeling of "the most virtuous and kind senior brother."
