Chapter 5

Chapter 5

After dinner, Du Jiajia and Lin An were about to leave. Gu Yuan went downstairs to see them off. When they reached the stairs, Du Jiajia looked at her and said, "Don't see them off. Let's go back."

Gu Yuan waved his hand: "Walk slowly on the road, Sister Mo, your home is still far away, be careful on the road."

Lin An stopped and reminded him, "Spend time with your mother."

This nonsensical instruction made Gu Yuan stunned. She nodded subconsciously: "Okay."

After Gu Yuan sent Du Jiajia and Lin Mo away, he returned home and found his mother still busy in the kitchen, with chili peppers and spices on the chopping board.

Gu Yuan approached the kitchen door and said, "Mom, aren't you tired? Let's do it tomorrow."

Gu Nian's hands kept moving. "I'm free now. I want to do something. Go back to your room and do your homework. Remember to close the door."

Gu Yuan leaned forward and asked, "Don't you need my help?"

Gu Nian looked at the child and said, "When have I ever asked you for help? Go back to your room and do your homework."

Gu Yuan nodded, turned around and went back to the room. Not long after, the door was pushed open and Gu Nian came in with a plate of strawberries.

Gu Yuan picked up one and ate it, "Mom, the strawberries you bought today are so sweet."

Staring at the strawberries on the plate, he looked up at his mother: "Sister Mo...did you eat strawberries this afternoon too?"

Gu Nian paused, then nodded. She placed her hand on Gu Yuan's head and stroked her daughter's hair gently.

Gu Yuan raised his head and met the complicated look in his mother's eyes: "Mom, what's wrong with you?"

"Are you on good terms with Sister An?"

Gu Yuan reached out and picked up another strawberry, eating it while saying, "Mom, you should just call me Lin An. It's weird to call me Sister An."

Gu Nian remained unmoved and repeated, "Are you on good terms with her?"

"You asked me this question before, have you forgotten?"

Gu Yuan said, but still answered: "I have a good relationship with her."

"When you encounter problems in the future, ask her more."

Gu Yuan bit a strawberry and said, "Sister An will explain any questions I don't know. She is a very nice person."

Gu Nian reached out and wiped the corner of her mouth. "You can ask her about things in life."

Gu Yuan stopped and looked up in confusion, "Life?"

What did she ask Sister An about life? Before she could even open her mouth to ask, she was shocked by her mother's next words.

Gu Nian combed her daughter's hair and said, "She was my former student. You don't have to be afraid of bothering her."

Gu Yuan sat up straight. "Sister An was your student? Mom, you were a teacher? Why haven't I heard you mention it before?"

"I taught her for a while about the past, but she was very good and skipped a grade."

"Ah, then Sister An is younger than me? I'll go ask her tomorrow when she gave birth."

Gu Nian looked at her with a smile. After Gu Yuan finished eating the strawberries, she picked up the plate and turned to leave.

Not long after, Gu Yuan heard a soft sound of a door closing from his mother's room.

Worried that the light from her room would shine over, she stood up, walked to the door, and carefully closed it.

Through the door, Gu Nian looked down at the bottle of sleeping pills. She had to find a reason for her death. This way of death should be the gentlest way.

Through the half-open door, the warm yellow light from Gu Yuan's room leaked out. She stared at the light, feeling bitter in her heart.

As far as I can remember, this is the second time this feeling has emerged. God has no emotions. The law of God's realm is that God loves all things and respects life.

She doesn't think so, God is indifferent and treats everything indifferently.

They don't understand what love is, so how can they love the world? But they can pretend that loving everything is actually just being indifferent to everything equally.

But she understood. When she met this little policeman in the world, she understood what love is. Love is protection and respect.

She never regretted falling in love with a human being, she just felt sorry for Gu Yuan.

She broke the law and should pay the price, but the child did nothing wrong, lost his father and is about to lose his mother.

The pills fell into her palm, emitting a white light. She swallowed the pills, looked at the light, and murmured, "Live, live well, you are the last thing the little policeman leaves for this world."

When Gu Yuan finished her homework, it was already very quiet outside. She slowly walked towards the room opposite.

When he opened the door, he saw Gu Nian was asleep, so he carefully closed the door again.

Gu Yuan turned off the lights in the living room, went back to his room, stuffed his homework into his schoolbag, and fell asleep.

The next day, Gu Yuan's alarm clock rang. She walked out of the room and habitually called out, "Mom."

Pushing open the door to the master bedroom, Gu Nian was still asleep. Gu Yuan leaned over and patted her mother's leg, "Time to wake up, Mom."

Seeing that his mother didn't respond, Gu Yuan simply moved closer and lay on the bed.

Just as he was about to speak again, his peripheral vision caught sight of the bottle of sleeping pills tilted beside the pillow.

She then realized something was wrong and reached out to touch it, but the coldness she felt made her feel like she was falling into an ice cellar.

Gu Yuan stumbled out of her mother's bedroom, took out her cell phone in her room, her pale face reflected on the screen, and called the emergency number.

The ambulance alarmed the neighbors in the community, and they all came over to take a look, and a crowd of people quickly gathered downstairs to discuss the situation.

On the other side, morning reading was over and Du Jiajia received a call from Gu Yuan.

She answered the phone: "Sister, did you know that the head teacher just left? She has already checked on everyone and marked you as late."

After hearing what Gu Yuan said, Du Jiajia couldn't control her voice: "What?"

The other people in the class looked at her, but Du Jiajia no longer cared. She was talking to Gu Yuan on the phone, while the other one was pulling Lin An out.

Lin An did not resist and let Du Jiajia pull her out.

Du Jiajia hung up the phone: "Sister An, we two have to ask for leave. Something happened to Gu Yuan."

The two ran all the way to the downstairs of Gu Yuan's house. The door was not closed and was ajar. The moment Du Jiajia pushed the door open, she gasped. Gu Yuan was kneeling straight on the ground with a bottle of sleeping pills in his hand.

Du Jiajia almost rushed over and pulled Gu Yuan up with force: "Get up."

Lin An followed behind her, holding Gu Yuan's trembling shoulders, and glanced at the half-open bedroom door.

Du Jiajia and Lin An held Gu Yuan on both sides, almost dragging and pulling her to the sofa.

Gu Yuan's body was limp. Du Jiajia asked tentatively, "Your mother? How could that be?"

"I don't know. I don't know."

Du Jiajia grabbed Gu Yuan's hand and asked, "What's the situation now?"

"My uncle came and took me away... He said he was going to take care of the funeral. He told me to stay home and rest, saying I wasn't in good spirits."

"Then?" Du Jiajia just opened her mouth when she was interrupted by Gu Yuan's suddenly raised voice.

"That wasn't my mother."

Gu Yuan looked up: "That person is definitely not my mother. My uncle said I was crazy."

"But I'm sure that's not my mother. She just looks the same."

Lin An's eyes suddenly turned cold as he looked at her, but then he remembered what he had promised someone. The coldness faded away, leaving behind a complicated look.

The senior was wrong in one thing. Even though she was so young, she still had strength.

In the divine realm, there has never been anyone who can generate power at such a young age.

She is too special. If it weren't for... such a situation, she would never tolerate it.

Human emotions are too rich, giving rise to too much uncertainty, which may threaten the stability of the world at any time.

This was the first time she had acted in a corrupt and treacherous manner, violating her rules of conduct.

Lin An stood aside, looking at the two of them with cold eyes and no expression.

Gu Yuan seemed to have noticed something and suddenly raised his head, and the two of them looked at each other.
