Chapter 283 The Land Has Been Occupied (2/2)

Finally, it rolled straight past He Xi, completely forgetting its mission, and happily rolled down the distant sand dunes.

It left behind only a string of rounded marks pressed from the bottom of the bottle and its claw prints.

He Xi's outstretched hand, ready to catch the water, froze in mid-air. Then, she scratched the back of her head, both amused and exasperated.

I can't even imagine how chaotic it would have been if Xia Zhining, the animal communicator, hadn't been there as an agent.

Xia Zhining rubbed her forehead, both amused and exasperated, and finally struggled to carry the Pallas's cat back: "...I asked you to bring water, not to use yourself as a hamster wheel!"

The first day of filming was tough, but it was filled with laughter and joy.

With a group of fluffy little creatures on set, the atmosphere of the entire crew became exceptionally warm.

Although most of the actors were not well-known, everyone was fully committed, and their pure enthusiasm for working together to present a good work deeply moved Xia Zhining, making her look forward to the final product of this short drama.

As she finished work, Xia Zhining's phone rang.

The call came from an official in Loulan City. The caller was respectful and enthusiastic, saying they wanted to personally present her with a banner of commendation and to discuss cooperation on her leading the gerbils to discover the gold mine.

"Expert Xia, we know you are very busy, but we are ready to accommodate your schedule at any time."

Where would be a convenient place for us to meet?

Xia Zhining gazed at the sand dunes gleaming in the setting sun, and at He Xi and her crew members who were still earnestly discussing tomorrow's scenes not far away, and a smile unconsciously crept onto her lips.

She gave the coordinates of the sand dunes where she was filming to the person on the other end of the phone, saying, "I've been working on these sand dunes for long periods of time for the past week."

The person on the other end of the phone immediately agreed, saying they would come tomorrow so as not to interfere with Xia Zhining's other work.

The next morning.

When Xia Zhining and the crew arrived at the Sand Dune film set from their hotel in the desert resort area, ready to start work full of energy.

Everyone was stunned by the sight before them—

Their carefully arranged filming dunes have now been brazenly occupied by a group of strangers and their equipment.

Four or five luxury vans with dark tinted windows lined up in a fan shape, like a convoy showing off its power, and drove directly over the filming area they had painstakingly planned the day before.

Brand-new heavy-duty cameras, reflectors, and lighting equipment were haphazardly set up on the sand, with power lines snaking like snakes.

A dozen or so staff members dressed in uniform black overalls were adjusting equipment as if no one else was around, casting a disdainful glance at the He Xi film crew who had rushed over.

"What...what's going on?"

Xia Zhining stared in disbelief at the mess.

The production assistant, his face flushed with anger, pointed at the group and whispered, "It's the S-level investment crew of 'Journey to the Desert'! They arrived before dawn and, taking advantage of their numbers, have directly seized our space!"

"We tried to reason with them, but they completely ignored us and even said..."

"What else is there to say?" He Xi's voice was as cold as ice.

"They said a small production crew like ours shouldn't waste such a good location..."

Upon hearing this, He Xi's eyes instantly sharpened like knives. She rolled up her sleeves, grabbed a metal tripod, and charged forward: "This is outrageous!"

"Director Xi! Don't be impulsive!"

The stagehands and several staff members hurriedly stopped her, exclaiming, "That's 'Journey to the Desert,' a production with an investment of hundreds of millions!"

"The male and female leads are both A-list celebrities, with lots of bodyguards! We...we can't afford to mess with them!"
