Chen Qian'an and Dong You finally got down the mountain half an hour later than expected. Fortunately, the driver was slow due to traffic jam, so they met almost at the same time.

The private restaurant is not far from here, only about ten minutes' drive away.

The mountain is not high, but climbing up and down is really tiring. What's more, these two people sit in the office all year round, so going to the gym occasionally is considered diligent.

It was half past twelve, and usually they would have been full by this time. But now they were starving, so they had to sit in the car and guzzle water to quench their thirst and fill their stomachs.

But God seemed to be against them.

There was another traffic jam on the way to the private restaurant.

Dongyou turned off his phone and looked out the window at the dense traffic, listening to the honking of horns, and said, "I'm so hungry."

The summer sun is very strong, not to mention it is the middle of the day.

Chen Qian'an was so hungry that he didn't want to say anything and only made a slight nasal sound as a response.

The car drove for a while and stopped for a while. Because of hunger, I started to feel a little dizzy and felt like I was about to vomit something in my stomach.

I can't stand it anymore.

Chen Qi'an stared blankly out the window, catching a glimpse of shared bikes neatly lined up on the roadside. An idea struck him. He opened his phone's map app, typed in the name of the private restaurant, and discovered he was less than two kilometers away.

I was really tired after climbing the mountain, but I was also really hungry. The traffic was so congested that it felt like I might not get there in half an hour.

Chen Qi'an said, "Let's go by bike."

"Huh?" Dong You came back to his senses, feeling that Chen Qi'an had said something very frightening, "Where did the car come from?"

Chen Qi'an pointed to the window next to him and said, "There are shared bicycles on the roadside."

Dongyou wanted to be lazy, but her stomach was growling. She was so hungry that she was almost seeing stars and her stomach was sticking to her back. She gritted her teeth and said, "Let's go!"

At her command, Chen Qianan pushed open the car door, took a step forward, and within three seconds he was out of the car, breathing in the warm summer breeze.

Dongyou moved a little, and when he was about to get off at the door, he said to the driver, "Uncle, we'll get off first. You can find a place to eat later and pick us up at two o'clock."

Driver: “Okay.”

After getting off the car, I felt refreshed and my dizziness was relieved a lot.

The two of them each scanned a car, adjusted the seat, and sat directly on it.

Dongyou was the first to unlatch and sit on the bike. She placed one toe on the ground and the other on the pedal. She turned her head to look at Chen Qi'an behind her and said jokingly, "I haven't ridden a bike in a long time. I'm a little scared."

Chen Qi'an unlocked the car and got in, saying comfortingly, "It's okay, there's a traffic jam anyway." He took out his phone, looked at the map, and pointed straight ahead: "Go straight, and turn right after four traffic lights."

"You come to the front, lead the way, and I'll follow you." Dongyou raised his chin towards him.

Chen Qi'an rode in front of her as he was told, looking back from time to time to check if Dongyou was following him.

It’s so cool to ride a bike on the road. I haven’t experienced this feeling for a long time during winter travel.

It is a kind of freedom that follows the wind.

Seeing the tall and powerful figure in front of him shuttling between cars and under clusters of green grass, Dongyou's mouth curled up a little.

At the intersection, the beautiful figure stopped, turned around with a delicate face, and looked at Dongyou.

Plop, plop.

Dong You pedaled his bike faster and rushed to Chen Qi'an's side. He felt like talking, so he asked for something else: "What's the next step?"

"Just go straight." He paused, then said, "Follow me."

rustle.

The wind blew up the fallen leaves on the ground, blew the dust onto people's faces, and blew the hair of the people in front of them into a frenzy.

Chen Qian'an squinted his eyes due to the wind and sand.

Dong You endured it and squinted his eyes to see how the man looked like in the wind.

The green light is on.

"Walk."

Chen Qi'an took the first step and started the attack before he finished speaking.

The road was not complicated, with only one turn, and it took them only twenty minutes to arrive.

They were taken to their reserved seats by the front desk.

Originally they wanted to book a private room, but it was too extravagant for two people. After thinking about it, they decided to keep it low-key and book an ordinary double seat.

Dong You just sat down, glanced at her phone, and stood up to leave. Chen Qi'an, holding the menu, looked at her blankly and said, "Where are you going? Order first, then go."

"The takeaway is almost here. I'll go out and wait. Just order whatever you like. You know I'm not picky about food, right? I trust your taste."

Chen Qi'an looked at her and nodded gently, not expressing his doubts, "Why order takeout when you're ready to eat?"

After ordering, Dong You came back with a box of something in a silver insulated bag. Chen Qi'an couldn't see what was inside, but it was probably a drink? Milk tea?

But he knew that Dongyou didn't like milk tea very much.

Dong You placed the thermal bag on the table, opened it, and pulled out a three-inch box of taro chocolate cake. He said, "This restaurant doesn't have cake, so I ordered one for you. Are you hungry? Should I eat it now or after dinner? I didn't dare buy a big one, fearing you wouldn't be able to finish it."

Chen Qian'an opened his mouth, but couldn't say anything.

He wanted to say that he wasn't that squeamish and didn't want to eat cake for every meal. He did like cake, but it wasn't necessary for him to eat it for every meal.

"Are you so moved you can't speak?" Dong You teased him and continued, "I apologize. Next time, I won't let you worry so much that you'll follow me this far away."

The two looked at each other in silence for a few seconds, but their stomachs growled in unison.

The private dishes are not served that quickly, so you may have to wait a while.

Chen Qi'an: "...Let's eat together. Let's fill our stomachs first."

It was not yet two o'clock when they finished their meal. They sat there, eating slowly and chatting about small things, and were ready to walk out the door at two o'clock.

The driver was already waiting at the door.

They got in the car and the driver asked, "Are we going back to the hotel?"

It was nap time, and both of them were a little sleepy. However, their physical fatigue reminded Dong You of something. She said, "Please take us back to the hotel first."

After saying that, she turned to Chen Qi'an and said, "When I booked the hotel, the staff told me that they have a foot soaking and massage service. Why don't we try it after we wake up from our nap?"

Chen Qi'an had already closed his eyes and was taking a nap against the seat. Upon hearing this, he half-lifted his eyelids and tilted his head to look at Dong You, breathing out his nose: "Hmm."

*

They had a flight that left at 8:30 in the morning, and the hotel was too far from the airport, so they got up at 6:00 to wash and get ready to go out in ten minutes.

As soon as he landed, Dong You hurried to the company. He patted the back of Chen Qi'an's hand and said soothingly, "I've arranged a driver. You can take that car home later. I'll go to the company first and then have dinner with you when I get home in the evening. Okay?"

Chen Qi'an: "...Okay."

After receiving Chen Qian'an's reply, Dong You disappeared from Chen Qian'an's sight like the wind.

Chen Qi'an returned home and interviewed a few more women. At 11 o'clock, he sent a message to Dongyou: [What do you want to eat for lunch?]

Dongyou replied at 12 o'clock: "Xiao An, I'm a little busy. I'll just have a quick bite. Don't bother running around."

When Chen Qi'an saw the message, the meal for two people had already been prepared and even packed into lunch boxes.

He wanted to say: No trouble.

After pondering for a long time, he finally drove to their company, said hello to the front desk, put the lunch box in the winter travel office and left immediately.

Back in the car, he opened the chat box and typed a few words.

【Remember to eat.】

send.

After going home and taking a nap, Chen Qianan went to the company in the afternoon.

He wasn't like Dong You, who would work non-stop for a while to finish the backlog of work after a day off. His desk was clean, and his workload didn't increase just because he took a few days off.

After all, he is not indispensable for this job; he is highly replaceable.

He just idles away his time in the company.

He thought so.

As usual, Chen Qianan numbly completed his "daily tasks" and began to daydream.

His office wasn't small, even a bit bigger than Dongyou's. It had a desk, a bookcase, and a coffee table, but also a small bedroom with a bed, bedside tables, and even a separate bathroom with separate wet and dry areas.

Office chairs are the most comfortable and softest ones.

These were all arranged by Chen Qixiao, in an effort to make his brother's work easier and not let him suffer.

But precisely because of this, Chen Qian'an didn't know his significance in the company.

He felt like a bloodworm, living by sucking his brother's blood, and the only purpose of his life was to suck blood.

What do I like?

He asked himself.

Looking at the densely packed documents in front of me - in short, I don’t like reviewing documents.

Looking at the tea set on the coffee table beside me - I don’t like drinking tea either.

Finally, looking at the wide variety of books on the bookshelf, he was sure - I like reading.

But.

It's just a hobby.

What are the advantages of reading?

Can it help the company get ahead? Can it improve your work ability? What does reading have to do with your job?

The villain in his heart cursed.

really.

It doesn't matter.

Even though he had read almost all the books on the bookshelf, he still hadn't accomplished anything.

He is truly not as good as the best but better than the worst.

He is not as good as Dongyou and his brother, but he is not like some rich kids in the circle who squander money and do not work properly.

His life is monotonous and boring.

Repeating day after day, every day is like copy and paste.

Only when he encountered the winter tour did his life undergo some subtle changes.

He got off work, returned home, and as usual, went into the kitchen to prepare dinner.

Dong You finally got home on time as scheduled. She took her empty lunch box and followed the sound into the kitchen. While washing it, she said, "Why are you cooking? Auntie hasn't found it yet?"

Chen Qi'an was stir-frying the food and shook his head, "Not yet."

Dong You put the lunch box in the sterilizer and noticed that Chen Qi'an hadn't tied his apron. She wiped her hands and walked behind him. "Why don't you tie it?"

Chen Qi'an paused and said, "I forgot."

The apron looks great on him, and tying the belt shows off his slim waist, giving him a standard inverted triangle figure.

His forearms looked very strong, and if you looked closely you could see the veins.

There is just a dark red scar on this beautiful forearm.

Dong You's eyes were stung. After a moment of silence, he said, "Hurry up and find it. I'm always worried that you'll get hurt."
