Chapter 7 Going to the Women's Federation to Cry and Complain

Lu Yang looked up at her in surprise. They were standing so far apart and speaking so softly, she probably couldn't hear what they were saying.

"I won't agree, if you really..."

Song Qing wanted to say that if he really exchanged that house with Wang Minggui's family, then she would take An'an to Ancheng, since she hadn't even started mailing her letter yet.

When she left, Lu Yang told her that the postman was off today, so she thought she would send the mail tomorrow. Little did she know that this would be her way out.

Isn't it just the same path as in her previous life? Then she will try her best to change her approach and will never let An'an suffer with her.

If Lu Yang wrongs her for the sake of that empty pride, will he not stand by her side if they encounter other difficulties in the future?

Living together means two people standing together, looking in the same direction, instead of one of them standing with an outsider.

If he doesn't listen to her even on something as important as a house, then this life really won't work.

But before she could finish speaking, Lu Yang nodded and hummed in agreement, then lowered his eyes to look at his feet again.

After a while, as if remembering something, he said to her, "I know."

After he finished speaking, he looked at An'an in Song Qing's arms. She was nestled in her mother's arms. The three-year-old child was already quite big, and she was wearing many clothes, so Song Qing had some difficulty holding her.

Lu Yang reached out his hand, and An An stared at his hand for a while before reluctantly reaching out hers.

Although Dad looks a bit fierce, his arms are big and it's very comfortable to hold him.

When Lu Yang said, "I'll ask her for her opinion," he already sensed something was wrong. He seemed to be handing over the decision-making power to Song Qing, but in reality, he was pushing all the responsibility onto her.

After waiting for a while and seeing that they seemed to have reached an agreement, Wang Minggui slowly walked over.

"Sister-in-law..."

Before Song Qing could speak, Lu Yang said directly, "Old Wang, we all disagree with this."

Wang Minggui was somewhat stunned, then nodded. Indeed, who would willingly hand over a good house to someone else? If it were him, he wouldn't be happy either. Why should he expect Lu Yang to be the sucker?

Song Qing glanced at the man blocking her way and inwardly scoffed, thinking he had gotten away with it today.

Ultimately, this whole thing started because of him. If he dared to be a pushover, the mother and daughter would have left.

Wang Minggui sighed and began to apologize to Song Qing. "I'm so sorry, sister-in-law, it's our first meeting and things have turned out like this. It's all my fault. Don't worry, we'll vacate the house as soon as possible."

Although Song Qing harbored some resentment, this person was Lu Yang's good friend and colleague, and she didn't want things to get too tense between them.

Despite Lu Yang's perpetually expressionless face, she could sense his dejection when he approached with his head down.

After all, he was his comrade-in-arms of many years.

After Wang Minggui finished speaking, he was about to turn around and walk towards the new district when a young man in military uniform came from the snow in the distance. He walked hurriedly and waved to Lu Yang and the others.

"Battalion Commander Lu, Battalion Commander Wang, Director Zhang is looking for you."

The soldier seemed to have encountered some urgent matter and urged them to leave quickly.

"Xiao Liu, what does Director Zhang want with us?"

"How would I know? I was on duty when the director told me to call you over right away."

Wang Minggui and Xiao Liu walked ahead. Song Qing's steps were not as big as theirs. Lu Yang carried An An with one arm and used the other to hold her forearm. "Be careful, the road is a bit slippery."

Taking this opportunity, Song Qing asked him who Director Zhang was. It turned out that Director Zhang was the leader of the Women's Federation of the Military Region and the military-affiliated factories. She was usually responsible for the production management of the military-affiliated factories and some work of the Women's Federation.

Lu Yang didn't know much more, and soon they arrived at a two-story building in the new district.

Orderly soldier Xiao Liu led them to a room with a sign that read "Women's Federation." A sound of crying came from inside the room. Wang Minggui's face turned grim upon hearing the sound, and he quickened his pace.

"Oh, Battalion Commander Wang, you've finally arrived. Please talk to your wife and children first. Tell them what's wrong, and the organization will definitely stand up for you."

You've been crying for so long, we have no idea what happened.

"What are you crying for? Get back here right now."

The children followed their mother to the imposing two-story building. There were guards at the gate and soldiers in uniform inside.

They had never seen anything like this before and were already terrified. Now, after being scolded by their father, they were even more frightened.

Only Director Zhang and a few staff members were in the office. They initially thought it was a fight between the couple, but when they saw her, heavily pregnant and with a bunch of babies, crying in the office...

The group gave Wang Minggui a severe dressing-down and even planned to have the orderly fetch him.

Their Women's Federation is dedicated to protecting the interests of women. If Wang Minggui dares to bully his wife, they will not only criticize and reprimand him, but also make him write a self-criticism and guarantee that he will not do it again. The Women's Federation is not to be trifled with.

But to my surprise, Zhou Lian remained silent after all the questioning, and just kept crying.

The people in the office had all worked at the Women's Federation for several years and had seen a lot of marital disputes. Now they sensed something was wrong; this didn't seem like a typical marital quarrel.

"Why are you scolding the child? Can't we cry when we've been wronged? Director Zhang, the military region promised to solve the housing problem for military dependents when we were stationed with the military."

We left our fields and houses in our hometown to settle down here because we were guaranteed a place to live, just so that our family could be reunited.

Wang Minggui has been away in the army for so many years. We, a widow and her children, have suffered so much over the years. We finally got a spot to accompany him to the army, and we were hoping to live a good life here.”
