Chapter Thirty-Nine: A Shocking Turn of Events!

Shen Yi reacted extremely quickly; he instinctively sensed the danger of the dark green liquid and did not touch it.

Most of the skeleton minions under his command did not have this ability to react, and several of them were splashed with the dark green liquid.

On the other side, Wu Yong, though fat, was quite agile, dodging the splashes of dark green liquid and leaping onto a tall tree trunk in two quick steps.

"What is that thing? It looks dangerous!"

Wu Yong breathed a sigh of relief; the vegetation affected by the dark green liquid withered at a visible speed.

"It appears to be a corrosive liquid..."

Shen Yi frowned.

In order to protect his skeleton army, Shen Yi immediately collected all the skeletons.

The corrosive liquid didn't just appear at Shen Yi's location; several screams of varying distances echoed through the Spectral Forest, as almost all the professionals staying there were simultaneously attacked by the corrosive liquid.

"This is not good." Shen Yi frowned. If this continues, the entire Ghostly Forest will be covered by the corrosive liquid.

Shen Yi observed the unknown corrosive dark green liquid.

They don't seem to corrode the ground; they just cause the plants to wither.

The liquid was somewhat viscous, so it didn't spread very quickly.

Shen Yi couldn't put away the several skeletons that were covered in corrosive liquid.

"No deaths?"

Shen Yi was somewhat surprised. These skeleton minions were the lowest-level undead, fragile and weak, pure cannon fodder.

However, the corrosive liquid splashed on it did not disappear immediately.

Shen Yi checked the skeleton minions' stats but didn't find any debuffs.

"It must be a resistance issue!"

Wu Yong shouted loudly, "Skeletons are undead, of the undead type, and are not considered living beings, so they have corrosion resistance."

Shen Yi thought for a moment, then summoned the Skeleton Forest Giant Bear and sat down on it.

"Boss!"

Wu Yong hugged the tree trunk and said with a wry smile, "Can I join you?"

"I might have a clue about this corrosive liquid."

Shen Yi raised his hand and summoned the Skeleton Demon Swordsman.

He hoisted Wu Yong onto his shoulder.

"Boss, I want to ride a bear too..."

Wu Yong grinned. "This guy's shoulders are too stiff!"

"Bear with it."

Too hard?

You think it's too hard, and so do I!

It was already a sign of Shen Yi's kindness that he stepped in to save the person; he wasn't so careless as to ride on a mount with a complete stranger, where he might be ambushed at any moment.

Shen Yi, along with Wu Yong, the two men and two skeletons, ran wildly through the illusory jungle.

"You said before that you had a clue about this liquid?"

Wu Yong blinked. "What if I say no?"

The skeleton swordsman picked up Wu Yong, grabbed his clothes with one hand, and could throw him away in the next second.

"I'll talk, I'll talk!"

Wu Yong was so frightened that sweat beaded on his forehead. "It's related to the final boss of this dungeon!"

"Hmm?" Shen Yi frowned. "Continue."

"I've seen the final boss before."

Wu Yong swallowed hard and continued, "It has a move that's similar to this!"

You mean something similar.

“Yes, not exactly the same.” Wu Yong took a deep breath. “The final boss in this dungeon is a Misty Corpse Demon, which is a very rare humanoid boss.”

"Its level is 16, one level higher than the Forest Giant Bear. Its strength, agility, and magic attributes are all quite high. Its weapon is a huge scythe."

"This skill is the one used by the Fog Corpse Demon."

“But it’s not quite the same.” Wu Yong pondered, “The Mist Corpse Demon’s skills can even corrode the ground.”

The dark green liquid in front of them could not do that.

Wu Yong looked at Shen Yi, "What should we do next?"

"First, we need to figure out what these liquids are."

...

"What is this thing?!"

An assassin sat on the ground, frowning, constantly cleaning the sticky, dark green liquid off his body.

Seven of them entered the instance, and four of them are still alive today. They were just thinking of leveling up in the Ghostly Forest when they encountered this thing.

"Brothers, I've been poisoned."

A knight frowned.

They were hiding on a huge rock. The dark green liquid hadn't spread that high, but two of them looked unwell, and they had some liquid on them.

"What kind of poison?"

"I have no idea!"

"Don't know? How could that be!"

"My panel only says this poison is called [Misty Miasma], there's no other skill description!"

"This is unbelievable," the knight captain cursed under his breath.

Just then.

"roar!!!!"

A beastly roar reached their ears.

The enormous Gale Wolf bared its teeth and stared at the group of people.

"Prepare for battle!"

The knight captain's forehead was covered in a fine layer of cold sweat.

This is not good; the dark green liquid has sealed off most of the space.

In contrast, the Swift Wolf seemed completely unaffected by the dark green liquid.

"howl----"

The swift wolf raised its head and roared.

Suddenly, five or six smaller Gale Wolves emerged from the forest.

Their wild, beastly eyes stared intently at the group, even the whites of their eyes were covered with a faint dark green, sending chills down their spines.

The Knights captain's expression changed drastically!

"It's a pack of wolves!"

The swift wolf arched its body.

The next second, he led the wolf pack straight towards the four-person team!

This is terrible!

The knight's face was ashen; anyone in this situation would have the same thought.

However, he still raised his shield and directed his men.

"Prepare for the enemy!"

The assassin gripped his dagger tightly, not daring to be careless for a moment.

A swift wolf charged forward, and the assassin was about to roll away when his movements suddenly froze.

The next second, he was pounced on by the Gale Wolf!

"Wang Zhuoran!"

The knight captain was anxious, but dared not leave the place rashly.

Right now, he is facing three Gale Wolves alone.

If you're not careful, you'll fall into the claws of the Gale Wolf.

"Ah!!! Captain, help me!"

The assassin named Wang Zhuoran was being torn apart by the Gale Wolves, letting out screams of agony.

The remaining two team members wanted to help, but they were too busy to do so, each with a whirlwind wolf tattoo on their face.

"There's really no other way, Wang Zhuoran, you should leave the dungeon first!"

The knight captain said resentfully, "We're just unlucky this time!"

"Team... Captain..."

"Wang Zhuoran wasn't teleported out!"

"Um?"

The knight captain turned around briefly, but his eyes widened instantly!

The remaining person pointed to a spot, trembling uncontrollably, his face filled with fear.

The direction he was pointing.

Wang Zhuoran lay on the ground with his eyes wide open and his face full of resentment; he was clearly dead.

"How is that possible!"

The knight roared in disbelief, "Why!"

No one responded to him.

The only response he received was the swift claw strikes of the Gale Wolf!
