CHAPTER 18

CHAPTER 18

Sheng Qing was tightly embraced by a boy named Blake. The street scene rushed past, and out of the corner of her eye, she saw Meng Yunxi's figure, who was chasing after her, being shaken off in a few breaths until it disappeared.

Finally, they stopped in front of a familiar door. Huh? Sheng Qing looked around in confusion. Wasn't this the house where Ning Xianyu had stayed before?

Blake waved his hand, and the door slowly opened, making a strange creaking sound.

“I’m back!” Blake’s voice was full of joy.

No way, no way! Sheng Qing had a bold guess in his mind.

"Sister, aren't you coming in?" Blake asked in a coquettish voice.

"Bubu?" Sheng Qing called out tentatively.

Blake removed his mask of pretense, revealing a genuine smile. "So, my sister hasn't forgotten me after all."

Sheng Qing felt as if she had been pushed into the room by an inexplicable force, and the door slammed shut behind her with a loud bang.

Wait, how could a cat turn into a human? Even in this bizarre magical world.

Sheng Qing stood warily at the door, not daring to move a step.

Blake looked disappointed as he slowly approached Sheng Qing.

"What do you want to do? Don't come any closer." Sheng Qing quickly summoned elemental power and assumed a defensive stance.

"It's no use, sister, have you forgotten last night?" Blake shook his head and opened his arms as if to hug Sheng Qing.

Ignoring the possibility of damaging the furniture, Sheng Qing unleashed all her elemental power as attacks at Blake.

Huh? It's like entering a black hole, disappearing instantly.

As Blake approached, his form shifted, and a snow-white cat landed in Sheng Qing's arms—it was Bubu.

Sheng Qing instinctively hugged him tightly, but the next second she realized what was happening and threw him to the ground.

The cat landed gently and steadily on the ground, letting out a low growl that seemed a little annoyed. But then it couldn't help but rub against Sheng Qing's ankle affectionately.

Perhaps animals really do transform into human form? Just because you haven't seen it doesn't mean it's impossible.

Perhaps it was Bubu's transformation into a cat that evoked a sense of pity and guilt in Sheng Qing, but another question arose in his mind.

"Are you really Bubu?"

"Meow~" Bubu licked Sheng Qing's exposed skin. The cool touch made Sheng Qing frown slightly and move her feet to try to avoid it.

It feels weird.

"But how did you become, uh, a human?" Sheng Qing struggled to find the right words.

Bubu whimpered impatiently, then suddenly jumped up and wrapped herself tightly around Sheng Qing's arm.

"Why did you act like that again last night?" Sheng Qing unconsciously pulled her arms closer and hugged Bubu tightly.

"If you were Bubu, why would you say those threatening things?" Sheng Qing's mind was clear.

"Meow~" Bubu, like an ordinary cat, nestled comfortably in its owner's arms, purring contentedly.

"Not going to answer?" Realizing she was not in any danger, Sheng Qing's voice turned cold. "Then get out of here."

Bubu, who was roughly thrown to the ground by Sheng Qing, transformed into the exceptionally handsome foreign boy, Blake.

"Sister, you are too cruel."

"Will you talk or not! If you don't, I'm leaving." Sheng Qing's expression was cold, and she made as if to leave.

"My sister smelled so good last night. It's all my fault for not being fully recovered and not having enough self-control, which is why I inhaled all of her fragrance." Blake sniffed, a dreamy expression on his face, as if he was still savoring the memory.

"Disgusting!" Sheng Qing frowned.

"As for threats, I learned that from someone else." Blake stood up, flicked off non-existent dust, and didn't seem to care about Sheng Qing's disgusting words. "Looks like it works on my sister. I'll still do it if necessary in the future."

Sheng Qing's lips twitched slightly. Who was the damned bastard who taught him that?

"Don't do that again," Sheng Qing said sternly. "Otherwise, I'll never want you again."

“No.” Blake refused bluntly, then moved closer to Sheng Qing. “If you dare to leave me again, I’ll make sure they never see the sun tomorrow. Then I’ll lock you in the house and not let you go anywhere.” He said, hugging Sheng Qing tightly and bringing his head close to her neck to inhale deeply into her hair.

"Then I will die, and you will never be able to smell that fragrance again." Sheng Qing pushed Blake away and looked quietly into its eyes.

Blake looked back quietly, seemingly deep in thought: Did his master really do that?

Convinced that it had an extraordinary fascination with exotic fragrances, Sheng Qing was not to be outdone.

After a while.

"How can I smell my fragrant sister again?" Blake asked earnestly, his tone full of doubt.

"First of all, you must not threaten people at the drop of a hat."

"Then you can't force me to do anything against my will."

"And don't try to transform into a human form."

"Isn't it good-looking?" Blake turned around. "I like it very much. If it's really not good, I'll just get a new skin."

"Well, at least don't come near me when you're in human form," Sheng Qing relaxed her demands.

"Why?"

"There's no reason why." Why talk to a cat about the differences between men and women? She's not crazy, is she? Sheng Qing sighed.

"I don't live here anymore. If you agree to my conditions, turn back into a cat, and I'll take you home." Sheng Qing remembered the missing cat request from a year ago, and decided it would be safer to find an opportunity to give it away later.

Meow~

"good."

Sheng Qing took Bubu, who had turned back into a cat, back to her new home. After eating some food, she planned to set off to meet up with Meng Yunxi.

Before leaving, he reminded Bubu to stay home and wait patiently.

"Are you alright?" Meng Yunxi's voice was a little hoarse.

"It was a misunderstanding." Sheng Qing briefly explained the whole story, which made Meng Yunxi frown and not know what to say for a moment.

The two arrived at an open space outside the city, one after the other. Sheng Qing, as usual, took precautions and then began to meditate.

Meng Yunxi, meanwhile, observed from the shadows.

A few minutes later, Sheng Qing's consciousness returned to that special space. He gently opened an exit, and his aura slowly emerged, circulating and rippling through his body in a certain rhythm.

With Meng Yunxi protecting him this time, Sheng Qing mustered his courage and tried his best to draw out the aura, finally finding the so-called spring in the special space.

The name "spring" is very fitting, but there are far more of them than I imagined.

After all the energy was drawn out, the entire special space began to overflow with new energy, like water seeping out.

Huh?

The special space was expanding at a visible speed, and the rate at which the aura seeped out was also gradually accelerating.

It started out as small as an egg, but now it's the size of a watermelon.

But does one's body have such a large empty space?

Sheng Qing finally saw what had flashed before: above the special space, there was something resembling a progress bar, but the progress was currently less than one percent. That's why it had been overlooked before.

"Sheng Qing!"

"elder sister!"

In a daze, Sheng Qing heard anxious calls. One of them was Meng Yunxi, and the other was Blake? Wasn't it supposed to stay at home?

Was it because I was too engrossed and spent too much time on it? Sheng Qing wondered, as she kept withdrawing her divine sense and guiding her aura back into the special space.

Let's call it the Sea of Knowledge from now on.

Aura continuously seeped out from within the sea of consciousness, while the aura that had been drawn out earlier was drawn back in, causing the sea of consciousness to expand again.

Sheng Qing controlled his divine sense to widen the gap, and the speed of the return of energy increased significantly.

A few minutes later, the backflow was finally complete, and Sheng Qing gently closed the gap.

The sea of consciousness is now nearly the size of two watermelons, so it can no longer be inside Sheng Qing's body.

Perhaps in another parallel universe, there is still the saying "a flower is a world, a tree is a Bodhi tree." Then the existence of the sea of consciousness is not so difficult to understand.

Sheng Qing finally opened his eyes, and saw two figures, one in black and one in white, facing each other from the left and right.

The tense atmosphere between the two passed through Sheng Qing's body, and before she could fully recover, she couldn't help but get goosebumps all over her body again.

"What's wrong?" Sheng Qing asked.

Wearing an all-black combat suit, Meng Yunxi glanced at Sheng Qing out of the corner of her eye before focusing her attention back on the person opposite her.

Opposite him, dressed in pure white with flowing robes, was Blake in human form.

Why did this guy follow us again? He even changed his clothes, and his hair has grown longer.

Sheng Qing lifted the protective measures and slowly walked to Meng Yunxi's side. She asked softly, "What happened?"

Meng Yunxi shifted slightly, trying to organize her thoughts. "It must be because the fragrance you just emitted was too strong; it almost..."

"Shut up!" Blake shouted angrily. "I just lost control when I was dispelling the other monsters." His voice trailed off.

"It always retains the nature of a cat, so we must not let our guard down."

Blake concealed his aura, transformed into a cat, jumped into Sheng Qing's arms, and rubbed his head against his owner's arm in dissatisfaction.

Meng Yunxi also suppressed her murderous aura, but her eyes remained wary as she looked at the cat named Bubu.

"You shouldn't be able to smell the fragrance now, right?" Sheng Qing asked curiously. What she really wanted to ask was why you could smell the fragrance back then.

But this matter should be kept secret, so I held back.

Meng Yunxi shook her head, offering no further explanation.

"Could you protect me when you have free time?" Sheng Qing asked tentatively. "I think I've figured out a bit of the trick."

"Meow~" Bubu seemed to be volunteering.

Sheng Qing comforted Bu Bu and took the initiative to guide her breathing in and out, proceeding gradually in accordance with her long-held principles.

Bubu can indeed help me, but drawing out my aura while I'm in a passive state isn't the best option, and if I don't control it well, I might get completely drained.

"If you ever need my help, I will never refuse." The fewer people who know about this, the better.

Meng Yunxi is the best candidate because he is not attracted to exotic fragrances, has high martial arts skills, is upright, and can keep his mouth shut.

"Alright, your special ability will be very useful in the future. Just do your best then."

"Captain, you're so kind, thank you!" Sheng Qing was very excited and couldn't help but take Meng Yunxi's arm.

"Wherever I am needed, I, Sheng Qing, will do my utmost, even at the cost of my life."

Sheng Qing's eyes sparkled as she glanced at Meng Yunxi again. Meng Yunxi seemed to be in a good mood as well, and a smile even appeared on her lips.

What a perfect day.

If only I hadn't discovered in the middle of the night that someone had transformed from a cat into a foreign boy.

"Get out!" Sheng Qing kicked Blake off the bed hard.
