CHAPTER 27
Sheng Qing's eyes darted back and forth between Miss Mouse and the cat-man. Could this Miss Mouse named Qianqian be the backer of Meng Yunxi that Le Tian mentioned?
But aren't mice and cats natural enemies? Why are they together?
Miss Mouse looked at Blake with a puzzled expression, then turned her gaze to Sheng Qing.
They seemed very curious as to why there was a human here, and what the relationship was between this human and Blake.
Blake maintained a half-smile, as if he were watching a good show.
On the contrary, Meng Yunxi remained calm and composed. Apart from a fleeting look of surprise in her eyes when she opened the door and saw Sheng Qing, she stood quietly behind Miss Mouse.
The four seemed to have reached some kind of tacit understanding, each with their own thoughts, but none of them spoke for a moment.
After a long silence, it was finally broken.
"Mr. Black, I hope I haven't bothered you." Miss Mouse spoke cautiously, glancing quickly at Sheng Qing and then secretly observing Black's expression.
"How could that be?" Blake said calmly, turning to Sheng Qing with a smile, "Sister, come and sit down." He patted the seat next to him as he spoke.
“No need.” Sheng Qing glanced at it and sat down on the sofa in front of the floor-to-ceiling window. “I think the view from here is very good.”
"We can't let our sister go hungry." Blake suddenly stood up, picked up the food on the table, and sat down close to Sheng Qing.
"This fruit is very sweet, wouldn't you like to try some, sister?"
Seeing the fruit that Blake was offering to her mouth, Sheng Qing frowned and refused abruptly: "No need."
Why are we standing so close?
What exactly is this guy trying to do?
Why must you be so attentive at this time?
Sheng Qing glanced at Blake suspiciously, then subtly moved to the side.
Blake made a disappointed face and reluctantly put the fruit in his mouth.
"By the way, what did you want to see me about?" As if he had just remembered that there were other people in the room, Blake turned around and put on a perfunctory smile.
"Actually, it's nothing." Miss Mouse looked slightly embarrassed and hesitated.
I don't understand Blake's intentions, and I can't understand why my father would attach so much importance to this boy who looks no more than seventeen or eighteen years old.
"And who is this?" Blake looked at Meng Yunxi as if they had never met before.
"Pretentious!" Sheng Qing thought to himself.
“A friend.” Miss Mouse tried hard to suppress the urge to smile.
"Just friends?" Blake raised an eyebrow, his tone suggestive.
"Please stop teasing me." Miss Mouse glanced quickly at Meng Yunxi, her eyes showing a hint of shyness.
"Need me to put in a good word for you?" Blake leaned back, resting his hands on the back of the chair, stretching out completely.
“As you know, Father has always valued your opinions highly,” Miss Mouse said with a humble smile. “I’m sure you wouldn’t want to miss out on such a promising talent.”
“Of course,” Blake said, looking completely at ease.
"Then Sisi thanks Mr. Black in advance." Miss Mouse bowed slightly in acknowledgment.
"It was nothing," Blake replied politely, not taking it seriously.
What kind of riddle are we talking about?
Sheng Qing was completely confused. She looked at Blake suspiciously and then slapped away his hand that was trying to put his arm around her shoulder.
"My sister is so cold to me." The latter then put on a pitiful expression.
Miss Mouse had no intention of staying long. After exchanging a few polite words, she prepared to leave.
"Yunxi?"
"Hmm." Meng Yunxi seemed to suddenly come back to her senses, responded softly, and followed Miss Mouse's footsteps.
Sheng Qing noticed the strange expression that flashed across Meng Yunxi's face before she left.
I had an urge to chase after them and ask what exactly happened.
But when he caught sight of Blake, who was intently observing him, he stopped abruptly.
There must be a reason why Meng Yunxi did this, so as not to cause any unnecessary trouble.
"Sister, you've grown cat ears!" Blake exclaimed dramatically.
"What? Where?" Sheng Qing was shocked and stood up abruptly, frantically groping around on his head with both hands.
I've been so busy these past few days that I almost forgot about it.
“I can help you, sister, as long as you ask.” Blake’s voice was full of temptation.
"No need, I'll figure it out myself." Who knows what this guy is up to.
“If you behave well to me, I can share some news with you,” Blake said with a smug smile. “You’ll definitely be interested, sister.”
"What news?" Sheng Qing asked, feigning indifference.
"Like this Miss Mouse?" Blake's lips curled into a slight smile.
Sheng Qing glanced out the window at the mouse lady who was presenting medals to Meng Yunxi and other cats who were 100% cat-like outside the floor-to-ceiling glass.
Her status was undoubtedly the highest among those present.
It's a miracle that mice and cats can coexist peacefully, but it's even more incredible that mice can occupy a high position.
Perhaps the conflict between humans and cats is merely a clever tactic employed by the mouse camp to divert attention from the real issues.
Tell me about it.
"If a person can turn into a cat, why can't a cat turn into a mouse?"
"Go on."
“Come here,” Blake said, pointing to the spot next to him.
"What exactly do you want?" Sheng Qing didn't move.
“Don’t you know perfectly well what I want to do?” Blake narrowed his eyes. “I’m just a pathetic wretch begging for your pity. What bad intentions could I possibly have?”
fart!
Isn't it just that he's preoccupied with the aura in his own sea of consciousness? What ambiguous, suggestive nonsense is he spouting here?
Based on past encounters, Blake's strength is unfathomable. Ordinary methods pose no threat to him, yet he has set his sights solely on me.
You could easily take care of yourself like stepping on an ant, so why do you have the leisure to sit here and play such a childish game?
If he's willing, he'll definitely have ways to get me to obediently offer up my sea of consciousness.
What exactly is the difference between being proactive and being passive for him?
Sheng Qing felt that he had vaguely grasped the key point, but it was just a flash of inspiration that disappeared in an instant.
"It's not that I don't want to help, but after the modification surgery, it's difficult for me to mobilize..." Sheng Qing still wanted to play dumb and fool people.
But Blake's gaze sharpened, and he stared intently at Sheng Qing.
Like a hunter who has locked onto his prey, he exudes an indescribable sense of pressure.
"Knock knock knock!" There was a knocking sound at the door.
A hint of displeasure flashed across Blake's face.
"who?"
"Miss Sissi asked me to bring you some snacks," the person outside the door explained respectfully.
The inexplicable pressure weakened, and Sheng Qing's stiff limbs were relieved. Only then did he realize that his forehead was covered in a fine layer of sweat.
"Snacks?" Blake repeated softly, then suddenly burst into laughter, a mocking expression on his face.
"I haven't even had a chance to taste the dessert that's already in my mouth, don't you think, sister?"
Since that's the case, let's take a gamble and see just how capable you really are," Sheng Qing retorted without backing down.
Concentrating his mind and searching for the location of his sea of consciousness, he gently opened a small opening, and a wisp of energy wrapped around his left fingertip.
The exotic fragrance instantly filled the entire private room, as if it had been infused with endless vitality, and then drifted freely into the distance.
A hint of madness flickered in Blake's eyes. He suddenly moved closer, gently grabbed Sheng Qing's left hand, and brought it to his nose to sniff.
Strange noises came from the doorway, like the scratching of fingernails against glass, and a sour taste rose between my teeth.
"Sister, you're really audacious." Blake took a deep breath, turned around abruptly, and waved his right hand casually toward the door.
The scratching sound outside the door stopped abruptly, followed by the sound of a heavy object falling to the ground.
"My sister can only be mine." With the trouble easily resolved, Blackrak took Sheng Qing's left hand and stroked it against her face, her whole face showing a look of intoxication.
"Is that so?" Sheng Qing raised an eyebrow, a hint of provocation on her face. "Have you forgotten where we are right now?"
Through the floor-to-ceiling windows of the private room, Sheng Qing saw that the once orderly banquet hall had long since turned into a complete mess.
Whether they were cat people or noble rat people, almost all the alienated creatures became restless and uneasy.
Unable to control themselves, they looked around, trying to find the source of this intoxicating fragrance.
A cat-like figure dressed in a blue-gray suit struggled to control the desires emanating from the depths of his heart. He looked up in the direction of Sheng Qing, his face alternating between worry and uncontrollable madness.
“I said, my sister can only be mine.” Blake seemed to have noticed the unusual commotion in the banquet hall, but the corners of his mouth curled up slightly, revealing a breathtakingly beautiful smile.
"Didn't you keep thinking about this?" Sheng Qing guided his breath throughout his body, releasing a fragrant aroma.
Like rolling waves, it carried an endless allure that was impossible to resist. For a time, even Sheng Qing himself almost succumbed to it.
It's like a delicious feast that makes your mouth water and your mouth water.
It's as if she has transformed into a noble and sacred goddess, inviolable and indecent, inspiring people to feel close to her.
No!
It was more like a lamb waiting to be slaughtered, which had inadvertently wandered into a pack of hungry wolves.
Things quickly spiraled out of control.
The monsters outside finally discovered the source of the strange fragrance and flocked to the private room where Sheng Qing was.
"It smells so good!"
The corridor echoed with chaotic and noisy footsteps and low growls, like ferocious beasts unleashed from their nest, violently slamming against the side door.
Blake seemed surprised by the sudden and aggressive approach, and tried to pull Sheng Qing into his arms, but Sheng Qing reflexively broke free.
"What, are you waiting to be torn to pieces by them?" Even Blake, who was usually at ease, showed a hint of anxiety.
"Why run away? With your abilities, is it really that hard to deal with them?" Sheng Qing retorted, moving his feet toward the glass window again.
Seeing Blake wave his hand and apply some kind of protective measure to the private room, the previously shaky door became more stable.
"The more precious something is, the less it should be shared with others, let alone with your sister?" Blake's eyes were filled with unrestrained madness as he leaned closer and gripped Sheng Qing's shoulders tightly with both hands.
"My sister has finally been generous this time, so I naturally can't go against her wishes."
Sheng Qing felt the energy in his sea of consciousness dissipating at an alarming rate, and the culprit was the person in front of him.
She struggled to push Blake away, but he held her tightly with both hands and even maliciously pulled her closer to his chest.
"What, sister, are you having second thoughts?"
Sheng Qing had no mood to argue with him. She glanced at the banquet hall, where only a few people remained.
Among them were Meng Yunxi, who was wearing a blue-gray suit, and the "Rat Girl."
Who are the other people? Could they be the other members of Team Zero?
The rooms on both sides of the private room had been invaded, and violent banging sounds came from all directions.
"I'll go deal with these annoying tagalongs first. Sister, don't run around." Blake's expression changed, he released his hands, and moved towards the collapsing door.
Surrounded on three sides, the safest place was actually the banquet hall.
Having decided to escape through the window, Sheng Qing glanced at Blake, who was entangled by numerous mutated and crazed monsters. Although he wasn't exactly in a panic, he probably wouldn't have time to take care of himself either.
So he quickly sealed his sea of consciousness, and with a thought, he summoned water element to tightly adhere to the glass, which instantly froze and shattered.
At the same time, the glass window was also subjected to an unknown external force and suddenly shattered.
It was only two stories high, and Sheng Qing jumped down without hesitation.
Buffered by the vines, it landed slowly and headed straight for the exit without stopping.
As Sheng Qing passed by Meng Yunxi and Miss Mouse, he paused for a moment, just as his gaze met Meng Yunxi's.
The other person's lips moved slightly, as if they wanted to say something, and their feet moved almost imperceptibly toward Sheng Qing.
Should I say hello? But then again, it seems unnecessary.
Forget it, let's not do anything unnecessary.
Sheng Qing withdrew her gaze and ran towards the exit without looking back.
A faint, angry, and questioning voice came from behind.
"elder sister?"
