CHAPTER 65
Sheng Qing sensed that the spiritual energy in her sea of consciousness was leaking out, and it must be that guy's doing.
That guy?
Sheng Qing repeated it several times, and a series of memories suddenly appeared from some corner of her mind, rushing straight to her head.
A face flashed into her mind, and she remembered it. This must be the guy the uninvited guest had mentioned.
They seemed to have some past grievances. Since they were acquaintances, she had to be extra careful. Sheng Qing followed the clues and sorted out the memories that had been hidden.
A quick glance revealed alternating scenes of calling her "sister," threatening her, and flattering her; it was difficult to discern whether she was friend or foe.
There were a few scenes that were not very clear, but Sheng Qing didn't dwell on them too much.
But during her brief moments of consciousness, she found herself in a confined and cramped space that, in terms of size and shape, unconsciously evoked ominous thoughts.
Regardless, Sheng Qing immediately decided to build him a secret realm as well, just in case.
Compared to the one that came to him by chance, Sheng Qing put in more effort, adding and subtracting details based on the scenes in his memory.
Whether it would be of any use or not, Sheng Qing began to feel agitated. She seemed to have forgotten something very important, but no matter how hard she racked her brains, she couldn't figure it out.
Perhaps she can find some clues when she truly wakes up.
Sheng Qing became even more vigilant as to how that guy managed to let the spiritual energy slip away right under her nose.
Even the best-case scenario needs to be tested in practice.
Let me take you on, Blake!
Sheng Qing patted his chest, took a deep breath, calmed himself down, and opened his eyes again.
Blake was still there, seemingly relaxing, leaning back with one hand supporting his chin and the other playing with a few strands of hair.
Seeing Sheng Qing open her eyes, Blake sighed softly, "I thought you were planning to just keep sleeping like this, sister."
Sheng Qing looked down along the strands of hair, which were intertwined and winding, finally reaching her shoulders—it was clearly her hair.
In her memory, she had never had such long hair before. As a member of the Alternate Team, a neat short haircut was most suitable, at most shoulder-length. It would save her time and effort whether she was on field missions or maintaining her hair daily.
"How long has it been?" Sheng Qing asked.
“Not long.” Blake casually put down the strands of hair in his hand, straightened them along with the original few strands, and put them away neatly. “It just served to turn that Meng’s corpse into bones.”
"A year? Whose bones?" Sheng Qing subconsciously skipped over certain information and randomly guessed a number. "Who are you, and why have you trapped me here?"
"Hmm?" Blake's eyebrows twitched, his expression becoming more serious. "Sister, have you lost your memory? Or are you just teasing me?"
"Don't you think this isn't a good place to talk?" Sheng Qing had tried to move her body several times, but she was still completely weak. It seemed that she had indeed been lying down for a long time, which had caused muscle atrophy.
“Sister, you misunderstand. This is a good place to talk.” Blake smoothed Sheng Qing’s slightly furrowed brows and explained patiently, “Otherwise, it might be snatched away by some Qin guy, or even by someone surnamed Meng who could turn bones into flesh and blood. In any case, I dare not take that risk.”
She couldn't move her body, but frowning was effortless. Sheng Qing chuckled to herself, realizing she must have practiced a lot in her dreams.
"What Qin surname? What Meng surname? I don't understand what you're talking about. Didn't you call me sister? Is this how you treat your sister?" Sheng Qing wanted to add something harsh, but her subconscious warned her not to provoke him. Even though she couldn't recall him ever doing anything extreme, why did she always subconsciously raise her guard to the highest level?
Now is not the time to dwell on these things. The most urgent task is to find a way to fool him and set her free. Or, buy time so that the spiritual energy can heal her body and then find a way out.
“It seems you really have forgotten, sister.” Blake’s smile faded as he leaned closer for a closer look. “How did she manage to do that, and how did you manage to dodge it? I’m getting more and more curious.”
"Her? You mean the other consciousness in my mind?" Sheng Qing almost blurted out Her Majesty the Queen, but thankfully she corrected herself in time.
"What are you going to do?" Sheng Qing exclaimed in alarm as Blake's face was about to press against hers again. "Aren't I your sister?"
“Sister, have you forgotten our agreement? Don’t worry, I’m just getting what I deserve.” Blake smiled and gently grasped Sheng Qing’s hand, which was trying to stop him. “Your spiritual energy is very rich. You’ve regained your mobility so quickly? Let me taste it.”
Having said that, Blake ignored Sheng Qing's resistance and approached on his own, but stopped just before they touched. Finally, he stood up, waved his hand, and the invisible barrier above his head was removed. Then he leaped away and left the narrow space.
Sheng Qing's heart was in her throat. She tried to get up, but Blake suddenly turned around and showed the upper half of his face.
"Sister, you should just wait here for me. I can get my things tomorrow. There's plenty of time." Blake waved his hand, and the invisible barrier returned to its original position.
"Wait a minute," Sheng Qing said hurriedly, but there was no response for a long time. Had he really left?
Sheng Qing then relaxed, moved his limbs, and soon sat up nimbly.
The spiritual energy flowed through his body, like injecting adrenaline into his body, and even more effective than adrenaline. In just a few minutes, Sheng Qing had recovered 80%.
Only then did she notice that what she was wearing was the first set of clothes Blake had given her in the Cat Head Secret Realm when she had just been turned into a cat.
To be honest, she quite liked it, but for some reason she casually threw it away and then went to Sky City and never returned.
Blake actually brought her back and dressed her in it. Is he treating her like a doll?
That's true. She bullied Blake when he was a cat. But at least she was a living, breathing person. If she were a cat, she wouldn't hold a grudge.
Sheng Qing shook his head to shake off these chaotic thoughts and focused his attention on the place he was in.
This small, square space has a more common and easily understood name: coffin.
Sheng Qing carefully stroked the four walls, releasing her spiritual energy and sensing them intently. The unique resonance emanating from her fingertips told her that this was no ordinary coffin. This was evident not only in the special materials but also in the unique craftsmanship, as seen in the patterns and lines adorning the inner walls.
No, this is no simple decoration. Sheng Qing leaned closer to examine it carefully, and the crooked and shapeless patterns looked more like some kind of restriction.
Sheng Qing skillfully retrieved a book from the void—the very same one that had appeared in her dream. She had already flipped through it several times in her mind and quickly found a page with similar patterns.
The patterns on the coffin are indeed a kind of restriction, and they do have some purpose of enclosing something, but they are not mainly used for enclosing. Instead, they are more focused on repair.
So she's being used by Blake as a blood bank, kept in a restricted area where she's inexhaustible?
She seemed harmless, but I never expected her to be so vicious. She even felt pity for her. How ridiculous.
Let's go outside first and talk about it later.
Sheng Qing closed his eyes, releasing more spiritual energy to cover the entire space, searching for subtle differences beneath the invisible barrier.
A few minutes later, Sheng Qing finally discovered that the frequency of spiritual energy fluctuations was inconsistent in a certain place. The exit was at this place. Sheng Qing launched an attack with her spiritual energy in accordance with the fluctuation frequency. In less than a quarter of an hour, the invisible barrier disappeared, and she regained her freedom.
Well, I'm speaking a bit too soon.
Before Sheng Qing could even celebrate her freedom, or even marvel at the room that was decorated so similarly to her little house in Mengcheng, she would have seen an exquisitely decorated bed that stood out starkly in the center of the room, completely out of place with its surroundings.
Isn't this the underground labyrinth where she was once trapped?
But an enticing aroma filled Sheng Qing's nostrils first, and then she turned her head and saw the guy coming back for the second time.
Blake was leaning against the entrance, looking quite relaxed, while next to him stood a slightly overweight middle-aged woman, the chef he had met once before, trembling and carrying food.
How did this unlucky chef get caught again?
"Get out." Blake's eyes were still fixed on Sheng Qing.
"Me?" Sheng Qing asked in confusion. She couldn't have been happier; her body acted before her mind.
However, out of the corner of his eye, he saw the chef fly up and then land heavily, while Blake flew over.
“You wish.” Blake smiled insincerely, but his tone was forcedly gentle. “You’ve recovered far too quickly. I prefer you when you’re still and quiet. Don’t you think so, sister?”
Sheng Qing tried his best to steady himself, letting himself be held down. His mind raced, trying to figure out how the restriction that could restrain someone like Blake, who was not subject to elemental power, was set up.
"You just wasted my food like that?" Sheng Qing's gaze lingered on Blake's face for half a second before landing on the food scattered all over the floor. She wasn't skilled enough to guarantee that he wouldn't notice her little trick.
"Are you hungry?" Blake reached out and gently stroked the cheek of the person in front of him. Sheng Qing's expression froze, but she insisted on not looking away or turning her face away. "But I'm hungry too. Why don't you let me eat first, sister?"
"Wait a minute." Sheng Qing finally couldn't hold back and reached out to stop her from speaking. "Didn't we agree on next time? I haven't fully recovered yet, and you don't want the blood pack to be wasted after just one use, do you?" Her other hand was still drawing the restriction.
"Blood bag? Is this the new identity you've given yourself, sister? It's interesting and fitting." Blake smiled slightly. "But I've suddenly changed my mind. There's no time like the present. I think now is the perfect time to eat. Sister, just bear with it."
Their lips met, and spiritual energy was forcibly absorbed. Sheng Qing tried her best to clear her mind of distractions. This was a way to divert her attention; she could sense that Blake was completely absorbed, and she also offered him her own spiritual energy at the opportune moment.
If she delays a little longer, her restriction will be completed soon.
Speaking of which person was she who studied this restriction with her? She could never make out his face clearly, and she couldn't even recall anything related to him.
“Be serious,” Blackson reminded him.
"Not ready yet?" Sheng Qing snapped out of her daze.
"What's the rush?" Blake mumbled.
The rate at which spiritual energy was being absorbed slowed down, and Blake's mind seemed to be elsewhere.
"Enough." Sheng Qing tried to push him away, but quickly realized something was wrong. A wisp of Blake's divine sense had entered her sea of consciousness, turning the pages one by one, searching for something.
Sheng Qing couldn't help but feel fortunate that she had been thoughtful and prepared a secret realm in advance, and Blake didn't seem to have noticed anything amiss.
Since you're a guest, why not stay for a cup of tea?
Sheng Qing extended a warm invitation, while simultaneously sealing off all exits of his sea of consciousness, leaving only a trace of Blake's divine consciousness behind.
"What are you doing?" Blake finally realized that he had lost contact with that wisp of divine consciousness, and abruptly pushed Sheng Qing away, then pulled her closer.
"I didn't do anything. Since you're so curious about my sea of consciousness, why don't you stay and take a closer look?" Sheng Qing said calmly, her confidence stemming from the already completed restriction she had created.
"I won't keep you company any longer. Goodbye." Sheng Qing easily broke free from the restraints. "No, I mean never again."
“You’re mine, where do you think you can run to?” Blake laughed instead of getting angry. “Do you think I can be trapped like this?”
“This was carefully prepared for you by the captain and me, you are welcome to try it,” Sheng Qing added. Blake remained in place, trying every trick in the book but unable to move an inch.
Captain? Sheng Qing murmured several times, wondering where this person had come from and how he had just blurted it out.
"So you really do remember? Are you still trying to lie to me?" Blake's expression shifted. "Too bad that Meng guy is long gone, hahaha. But you did it yourself, do you remember?"
"Shut up. I... I don't know what you're talking about," Sheng Qing said angrily. "Don't think you can provoke me like this. It's not that easy to find a flaw."
