"Today, I'll show you the power of my Time-Space Turbulence Washing Machine, the deluxe VIP version, no less!" Lin Yi's lips curled up in a wicked smile, and the particularly dazzling light in his hand exploded with a "boom," like a supernova eruption, instantly engulfing Night Owl.
The owl howled, and his face, which was originally quite handsome, was now twisted into a bizarre, abstract painting. The black energy around his body surged even more violently, like a pressure cooker about to explode.
He struggled desperately, trying to escape from this terrifying temporal turbulence, but Lin Yi's temporal power was like an invisible net, tightening more and more, and no matter how hard he tried, it was all in vain.
"Impossible! I am the chosen one! I am the one destined to rule the other dimension!" Night Owl shouted at the top of his lungs, his voice filled with resentment and despair.
His body began to crack, and the black aura slowly disappeared, like a deflated ball that shrank away all at once.
"The chosen one? You dare to call yourself that?" Lin Yi snorted and laughed coldly.
At that moment, the world seemed to stand still.
The wind stopped blowing, the clouds dispersed, and even the smell of gunpowder in the air gradually disappeared.
Everyone was stunned, staring blankly at this unbelievable event, as if they were dreaming.
After a long while, deafening cheers finally resounded throughout the land.
"We won! We won!"
"Lin Shen is amazing! He's practically invincible!"
"That's a god who controls time and space, an eternal idol!"
Everyone was so excited that they hugged each other tightly, and tears of joy streamed down their faces.
This war of interdimensional invasion has been going on for several months, and it almost drove humanity to the brink of extinction. Now it's finally over!
Long Wu hugged Su Qing, grinning foolishly, "I told you, following Brother Yi is definitely the right choice. Now we're going to have a good life!" Su Qing glanced at him, but the corners of her mouth still couldn't help but turn up.
Chu Yao stood quietly behind Lin Yi, her eyes full of tenderness.
She knew in her heart that Lin Yi was under much more pressure than anyone else could imagine, but he never gave up or took a single step back.
The white-bearded man stroked his long beard and nodded with great satisfaction, saying, "Young people are truly remarkable! This is what they mean by each generation surpassing the last; the future belongs to the young!"
Aizen, still with that enigmatic look, simply stared at Lin Yi.
Just then, a blurry figure slowly appeared before everyone's eyes.
Xuanmingzi is here.
"Congratulations on successfully blocking the interdimensional invasion." Xuan Mingzi's voice was flat and indifferent, as if he had no emotion at all.
Lin Yi took a deep breath.
"The Ragnarok Project... what exactly is it?" Lin Yi asked directly.
Xuanmingzi paused for a moment before slowly explaining, "This Ragnarok isn't about destruction; it's actually about rebirth. It's meant to awaken the incredibly powerful ultimate forces within ancient civilizations, which is the key to completely eliminating the interdimensional invaders."
"Ancient civilization? Ultimate power?" Everyone looked at each other, completely confused.
Xuanmingzi continued, "A long, long time ago, there was a particularly advanced civilization on Earth. This civilization was extraordinary; they could wield powers that transcended time and space, and even manipulate the rules of the universe. However, this civilization mysteriously disappeared, leaving only some dilapidated ruins and legends."
"The plan for 'Ragnarok' is to find these ruins, awaken the dormant power, and ultimately defeat the invaders from other dimensions."
"To awaken this power, we must enter the 'City of Oblivion'." Xuan Mingzi waved his hand, and a screen of light appeared before everyone's eyes.
Inside the light screen was an ancient and mysterious city, with walls so high they almost reached the clouds, and a unique architectural style, exuding an air of mystery.
"The Forgotten City..." Lin Yi muttered to himself softly.
"Is everything ready?" Xuan Mingzi looked at Lin Yi, his tone seemingly carrying a hidden meaning.
Lin Yi's lips curled up into a confident smile: "Of course. I am..."
"The master of time and space!" Chu Yao blurted out, her tone brimming with pride.
“No, I’m not some kind of ruler.” Lin Yi paused slightly, his eyes becoming deep and unfathomable. He said slowly, “I’m just an adventurer.” As he spoke, he stretched out his hand and pointed towards the Forgotten City in the light screen. “That’s where I’m going.”
At this moment, a spatial-temporal force began to fluctuate, and Xuanmingzi was the first to step into the light curtain, disappearing in an instant.
Lin Yi watched as the fluctuations at the entrance slowly disappeared, his eyes gleaming.
"Hey, wait for me! Brother Yi!" Long Wu's voice came from afar.
Lin Yi turned around, a slight smile playing on his lips, and gently clenched his fist.
Lin Yi stared at the slowly closing portal leading to the "City of Oblivion," the air still carrying Xuan Mingzi's faint, boastful scent.
"An adventurer? Brother Yi, when did you switch careers to become a hiker?" Long Wu came running over, panting, with several pieces of awesome equipment he had taken from some big monster hanging on his body, gleaming gold, as if he was afraid that others would not know that he had just received a big bonus.
Lin Yi chuckled and patted him on the shoulder. "What's wrong? Scared? This trip doesn't include round-trip train tickets."
Su Qing walked to Lin Yi's side, her eyes filled with unwavering determination, "No matter where you go, I will follow you."
"Of course, Sister Qing's healing ability is the lifeblood of our team." Long Wu chuckled, only to get a sharp rap on the head from Su Qing.
"Stop messing around. The Forgotten Capital is not an easy place to deal with. Everyone, be more alert." Lin Yi's smile vanished instantly.
Chu Yao immediately started the scanning program; beams of blue light were flashing in her eyes.
Chu Yao said, "Master, I detected a very faint trace of extradimensional energy, but it's extremely thin now and poses no threat."
"Okay, not bad." Lin Yi nodded, then turned around, glanced at everyone, and said, "In that case, let's set off."
Lin Yi was the first to step into the portal, and immediately felt dizzy.
When he opened his eyes again, he found himself in a fog.
"Hey, this place is pretty interesting." Lin Yi suddenly stopped walking. A slight smile played on his lips, as if he'd sensed something, and he called out loudly into the air, "You're all this way, why aren't you showing yourself?"
