Chapter 16: The Chamber of Commerce Expands, Powerful Enemies Covet It

"All eyes on me! I have something to announce!"

Lin Yi stood in front of the enormous desk large enough to hold a round table meeting, cleared his throat, and glanced at the core members of the chamber of commerce present. A background music called "Leadership Aura" seemed to automatically start playing behind him.

Long Wu sat at the lower end of the table. His face, which had originally been filled with questions like "Who am I? Where am I? Why am I having this meeting?", was now gradually showing a bit of composure.

There's no way around it; after hanging out with Lin Yi for a long time, even the most clueless person can be transformed into an elite.

Chu Yao stood beside Lin Yi, with holographic projections flashing around her and various data reports flowing rapidly like a waterfall.

She is the true mastermind behind the Chamber of Commerce, an artificial intelligence that combines beauty and wisdom—and, moreover, an artificial intelligence that is loyal only to Lin Yi.

"After all this hard work," Lin Yi paused, deliberately keeping everyone in suspense, and seeing their curiosity piqued, he continued with satisfaction, "our Interdimensional Commerce Association is about to make waves on an even bigger scale!"

"Yay!" Long Wu was the first to jump up and cheer. He had long been dissatisfied with his current little plot of land.

"Boss, tell me, where are we going to rob this time... cough cough, expand into new markets?"

Lin Yi smiled and shook his head: "This time we're not going to rob, we're going to use money, understand?"

Chu Yao handed over a holographic projection expansion plan at the right time. It was filled with various data and charts, which made Long Wu's head spin.

"Simply put," Lin Yi pointed to several key cities and game areas on the projection, "we want to open branches in these places and expand our cross-dimensional business to the entire Earth, and even the entire universe!"

The plan is ambitious and the prospects are bright, but problems also arise.

The expansion of the chamber of commerce will inevitably encroach on a lucrative market.

In the real world, some business groups that already held a significant market share began to envy the rise of the Cross-Dimensional Chamber of Commerce.

They joined forces and attempted to suppress the chamber of commerce and cut off its resource supply channels through various improper means.

"These bastards, they can't beat us openly, so they resort to underhanded tactics!" Long Wu slammed his fist on the table and cursed, "If you ask me, we should just take some men over there and beat the shit out of them!"

Lin Yi rolled his eyes at him: "Violence won't solve anything, Fifth Brother. We're civilized people, we should reason with each other."

"Reason?" Long Wu curled his lip. "It's better to talk about physics with an interdimensional invader than to reason with these capitalists!"

Lin Yi smiled and looked at Chu Yao: "Yao Yao, tell me your opinion."

Chu Yao pushed up her non-existent glasses and calmly analyzed, "According to data analysis, these business groups mainly suppress our chamber of commerce by controlling the supply of raw materials, increasing logistics costs, and spreading negative public opinion. To solve these problems, we need to start from the source and break their monopoly."

"Well said!" Lin Yi gave Chu Yao an approving look. "It seems that our AI assistant is much more reliable than some guys who only know how to fight and kill."

Long Wu touched his nose and gave an embarrassed smile.

“My suggestion is,” Chu Yao continued, “that we can deal with these suppressions by finding new suppliers, establishing our own logistics channels, and using public opinion to fight back.”

Lin Yi nodded: "I'll leave the specifics of how to do it to you. I'm confident you can handle things perfectly."

"I guarantee I'll complete the mission!" Chu Yao replied crisply.

The troubles in the real world were temporarily left to Long Wu and Chu Yao to handle.

Lin Yi focused more of his energy on the remaining forces of the interdimensional invaders.

The last attack made Lin Yi realize that these guys were like cockroaches that could never be killed; as long as they were given a chance, they would come back with a vengeance.

What's more, there's a cunning boss named Li secretly plotting against them.

"This Mr. Li is really persistent." Lin Yi sat in his office, looking at the information about Mr. Li that Chu Yao had pulled up, and couldn't help but shake his head.

“According to our investigation,” Chu Yao said, “Mr. Li has been frequently in contact with some unidentified people recently, which is very likely due to his collusion with the remnants of the interdimensional invaders.”

"It seems it's time to finally resolve this problem." Lin Yi

He decided to take matters into his own hands and dig out these hidden cancers one by one.

"Yaoyao, help me locate Mr. Li's latest position."

"Location in progress... Location confirmed. Mr. Li is currently in an abandoned factory on the outskirts of the city."

“Very good.” Lin Yi stood up. “Fifth Brother, Yao Yao, come with me to meet this Boss Li.”

The three drove a modified SUV at high speed and soon arrived at an abandoned factory on the outskirts of the city.

This used to be a chemical plant, but it was abandoned long ago due to severe pollution.

A pungent smell filled the air, making people feel very uncomfortable.

"This place is really quite eerie," Long Wu said, frowning.

Lin Yi didn't speak, but activated the ability of [Time and Space Domination], and the surrounding time and space became slower and clearer in his perception.

He could sense that an unusual power was hidden within this abandoned factory.

"Be careful, something's fishy here," Lin Yi warned.

The three of them cautiously entered the factory.

The factory was pitch black inside, with only a sliver of light filtering through the dilapidated windows, barely illuminating the surroundings.

"Mr. Li, come out. I know you're here." Lin Yi's voice echoed in the empty factory.

"Heh, Lin Yi, you really did come after all." A sinister voice came from the darkness.

Boss Li slowly appeared in front of the three of them, a crazed smile on his face.

"Do you think I'm afraid of you?" Lin Yi said with a sneer.

“Afraid? Of course I’m afraid.” Boss Li shrugged. “However, I’m not fighting alone anymore.”

As Mr. Li finished speaking, a group of people dressed in black uniforms emerged from the darkness.

These people exuded a nauseating aura, and their eyes were filled with madness and bloodlust.

“An interdimensional invader!” Long Wu exclaimed.

"That's right, they are my new friends," Boss Li said smugly. "With their help, I will definitely be able to completely destroy your Interdimensional Commerce Guild!"

"Them?" Lin Yi smiled dismissively. "You overestimate them."

"Is that so? Then let's give it a try!" At Boss Li's command, the interdimensional invaders immediately launched an attack on Lin Yi and his companions.

The battle erupted instantly.

Lin Yi activated [Time-Space Ripple], his figure moving like a ghost among the enemies, each strike taking the life of an enemy.

Long Wu was not to be outdone. He roared and his body began to change. Scales covered his entire body and a pair of dragon horns grew from his forehead.

"True Dragon Bloodline, Awaken!"

He transformed into a humanoid Tyrannosaurus Rex, rampaging through the enemy ranks, invincible in his path.

Chu Yao stood at the rear, using her data analysis skills to provide support for Lin Yi and Long Wu.

She constantly calculated the enemy's weaknesses and relayed the information to Lin Yi and Long Wu.

With the three working together, the extradimensional invaders were no match for them and were quickly wiped out.

When Mr. Li saw this, his face turned deathly pale.

"Impossible! This is impossible!" he shouted frantically.

Lin Yi walked up to Boss Li and looked at him coldly: "Nothing is impossible. Do you think you can defeat me with this trash? You're too naive."

"What...what exactly do you want?" Boss Li's voice trembled.

"What do I want?" Lin Yi smiled. "It's simple. I want you to pay the price for what you've done."

Lin Yi raised his hand, and a spatial rift appeared beneath Boss Li's feet.

"No! No!" Boss Li screamed in despair as his body was swallowed by the spacetime rift and disappeared without a trace.

Even after resolving the problem with Boss Li, Lin Yi's mood didn't improve much.

He knew that the threat from the interdimensional invaders was far greater than he had imagined.

"It seems we need to accelerate our expansion." Lin Yi looked into the distance.

Chu Yao nodded: "I will complete the adjustment of the expansion plan as soon as possible, and strive to open branches in more cities and game regions in the shortest possible time."

Long Wu patted his chest and said, "Boss, don't worry. Leave the real-world matters to me, I guarantee I'll handle them perfectly!"

Lin Yi nodded. Just as they were actively responding, Chu Yao received an encrypted message from Xuan Mingzi.

After quickly deciphering the information, Chu Yao's expression changed slightly... Chu Yao frowned slightly, and the holographic projection around her flickered with a ghostly blue light, like some kind of ominous premonition.

“Boss, Xuanmingzi sent a message,” she said in a serious tone, breaking the brief silence, “saying that more troublesome enemies will emerge on our expansion path, and we should prepare in advance.”

"An even more troublesome enemy?" Long Wu scratched his head and snorted nonchalantly, "Could they be more disgusting than the interdimensional cockroaches and those unscrupulous merchants? We'll just have to deal with whatever comes our way!"

Lin Yi, however, was not as optimistic as Long Wu. He keenly sensed a sense of unease. Xuan Mingzi was always elusive, and this time he took the initiative to warn people, so things were definitely not simple.

He narrowed his eyes, countless possibilities flashing through his mind: Was he the mastermind behind the interdimensional invaders?

Or is it a more powerful force coveting the interests of the Chamber of Commerce?

Or perhaps... some kind of change in the game itself?

"It seems this quagmire is deeper than I imagined..." he muttered to himself, a strange sense of excitement surging within him, like a bloodthirsty beast smelling its prey.

"Yaoyao, analyze Xuanmingzi's information again carefully and see if you can find more clues," he instructed, his eyes flashing with a sharp light.

"Received." Chu Yao's slender fingers traced lines in the air, and strings of code flowed down like a waterfall, displaying complex patterns and data on the holographic projection, as if foreshadowing an impending storm.

Suddenly, a rapid ringing broke the silence of the office. Long Wu took out his phone and his face turned ashen.

"Boss, something bad has happened..."
