Chapter 5 Fierce Battle in the Ruins, Breaking Through the Dilemma

"Be good and become our nourishment!"

As soon as he finished speaking, the ghosts surged forward in a dark, swarming mass, like starving ghosts rushing to be reborn.

His deathly pale face, empty eyes, and the stench emanating from him were like a live horror movie.

"Chu Yao, is there any way?" Lin Yi asked his AI assistant in his mind as he dodged the ghost's attacks with the agility of an eel.

"Analyzing... Analyzing... Host, the energy frequencies of these ghosts are very strange. We are trying to decipher them..." Chu Yao's voice carried a rare hint of urgency.

You know, this girl is usually as calm as an AI. If she's gotten nervous, it means she's really in trouble this time.

Just then, a ghost suddenly pierced through Long Wu's strong body.

Long Wu suddenly felt as if he had been stripped naked and thrown into an ice cave in Siberia. His blood seemed to freeze, and he couldn't help but shiver.

"Holy crap! What the hell is this feeling?! I'm freezing!" Long Wu's already rugged face was now completely bloodless, looking like a piece of cheap toilet paper.

Seeing this, Lin Yi felt a chill run down his spine; this was no joke.

If this continues, Long Wu will probably be drained dry by these ghosts.

"We can't delay any longer!" Lin Yi gritted his teeth, his eyes instantly sharpening.

He had to find a way to break the barrier as soon as possible, otherwise he and Long Wu might die here today.

He suddenly raised his head, his gaze like an X-ray, locking onto the runes on the wall that looked like scribbles, trying to find a glimmer of hope.

"I've got it!" Suddenly, Lin Yi's gaze fell on one of the runes.

He shouted, "Long Wu, cover me!"

"No problem! Watch me!" Long Wu roared, his already bulging muscles expanding even more, tearing his clothes and revealing muscles as hard as cast steel.

Immediately afterwards, a dazzling golden light burst forth from his body, and a golden dragon phantom appeared behind him.

"Awooo—!"

A deafening dragon roar resounded, and Long Wu immediately entered a semi-dragon state, his original human form beginning to transform into a giant dragon.

His body was covered in golden scales, his hands had turned into sharp dragon claws, and a pair of huge dragon wings had grown from his back.

"Get out of my way!" Long Wu roared, his huge dragon claw slamming down on the surging ghosts, smashing them into a cloud of black mist.

At the same time, he spewed out a blazing dragon breath, engulfing the surrounding ghosts in flames.

The ghosts screamed in agony as the dragon's breath scorched them, their bodies twisting and contorting until they finally vanished as wisps of black smoke.

"Well done!" Lin Yi exclaimed.

Although Long Wu usually seems carefree and irresponsible, he's actually quite reliable when it matters.

With Long Wu's cover, Lin Yi could finally focus on studying the runes.

He concentrated his mind, releasing all his spiritual power and permeating it into the runes.

"Time reversal!"

Lin Yi shouted in a low voice, and the ghosts that were moving quickly stopped in mid-air as if a pause button had been pressed.

Taking advantage of the opportunity, Lin Yi quickly analyzed the arrangement and combination of those runes, trying to find a way to break the barrier.

"Found it!" A few minutes later, Lin Yi

"Long Wu, attack that rune!" Lin Yi shouted, pointing to a rune on the wall.

Upon hearing this, Long Wu swung his dragon claw without hesitation and slammed it hard against the rune.

"boom--!"

A loud bang was heard, the rune shattered instantly, and the entire barrier began to tremble violently.

"Now!" Lin Yi seized the opportunity and rushed forward. His body moved like a ghost through the horde of phantoms, dodging their attacks.

"The Blade of Time and Space!"

Lin Yi shouted in a low voice, and a sharp blade formed from the power of spacetime appeared in his hand.

He swung his sharp blade, slashing fiercely at the ghosts.

"Puff puff puff..."

Under the attack of the Blade of Time and Space, those ghosts were as fragile as tofu, and were directly cut in half and turned into nothingness.

Just then, an angry roar rang out, and all the ghosts suddenly stopped attacking and began to merge together.

"Oh no! They're about to merge!" Lin Yi's expression changed; he knew what these ghosts were up to.

Sure enough, within a few seconds, all the ghosts merged together, transforming into a gigantic ghost king that was three meters tall and exuded a terrifying aura.

The Ghost King let out a deafening roar, and a powerful energy wave spread outwards from it.

"Not good!" Lin Yi and Long Wu's expressions changed drastically at the same time. They wanted to dodge, but it was too late.

A powerful shockwave struck them hard, and the two of them felt as if they had been hit by a speeding train. Their bodies flew backward uncontrollably and crashed heavily into the wall.

"puff--!"

Lin Yi couldn't help but spit out a mouthful of blood; he felt as if his internal organs were about to be shattered.

Long Wu's condition was also not optimistic; cracks had appeared on his golden scales, and a trace of blood had spilled from the corner of his mouth.

"Damn it, this guy is so strong!" Long Wu wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth and said with a grim expression.

"Now is not the time to complain, we must find a way to solve it!" Lin Yi took a deep breath and tried to calm himself down.

"Chu Yao, is there any way?" Lin Yi asked Chu Yao for help in his mind.

"Analyzing... Analyzing... Host, the Ghost King's weakness is its core energy source. As long as its core energy source is destroyed, it can be completely eliminated," Chu Yao said quickly.

"Where is the core energy source?" Lin Yi asked.

“In its head,” Chu Yao replied.

"Okay, I understand!" Lin Yi nodded, raised his head, and fixed his gaze on the Ghost King's head.

"Long Wu, let's join forces!" Lin Yi shouted.

"No problem!" Long Wu roared, activating his true dragon bloodline once again. The golden scales on his body became even more dazzling, and his aura became even stronger.

"Time and space imprisonment!"

Lin Yi shouted in a low voice, releasing all his spacetime power in an attempt to imprison the Ghost King's movements.

The Ghost King roared and struggled desperately, trying to break free from the shackles of the spacetime power.

"Dragon's Breath!"

Seizing the opportunity, Long Wu unleashed a scorching dragon breath, blasting it fiercely towards the Ghost King's head.

The Ghost King let out a shrill scream as its head was struck by dragon breath, leaving a huge hole.

"Now!" Lin Yi

Lin Yi shouted in a low voice, and stabbed the Time-Space Blade in his hand fiercely into the hole in the Ghost King's head.

The Blade of Time pierced through the Ghost King's head, striking its core energy source directly.

"Snap—!"

A crisp sound rang out as the Ghost King's core energy source shattered.

The Ghost King let out a desperate wail as its body began to collapse, eventually turning into wisps of black smoke and dissipating.

"Phew... It's finally over!" Lin Yi breathed a long sigh of relief, feeling like his body was about to collapse.

Long Wu collapsed to the ground, panting heavily. The golden scales on his body gradually faded, and he returned to his human form.

"Damn it, I'm exhausted!" Long Wu complained.

Lin Yi ignored him and walked to the place where the Ghost King had disappeared. He found that a black stone tablet had appeared there.

The stone tablet is made of neither metal nor jade, and its surface is covered with strange patterns, exuding an ancient and mysterious aura.

Lin Yi carefully stepped forward and reached out to touch the surface of the stone tablet.

The moment his fingers touched the stone tablet, a powerful flow of information surged into his mind.

His face turned deathly pale instantly.

"This...this is..." Lin Yi said with difficulty, as if something was blocking his throat. His voice trembled and carried a hint of disbelief.

"What's wrong? What did you find?" Long Wu asked quickly upon seeing this.

Lin Yi didn't answer. His gaze was fixed on the stone tablet. He slowly raised his head and looked deeper into the ruins, where a greater secret seemed to be hidden. This secret might be inextricably linked to his search for his parents... Lin Yi wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth. Damn it, he almost died in this godforsaken place!

Luckily, I have some special skills, otherwise today would have been a scene from "Lost in the Ancient Tomb".

He looked at the scattered ghost remnants on the ground and curled his lip in disgust. The equipment dropped by this thing was too trash. Not even an SSR. What a waste of my efforts.

Long Wu wasn't in much better shape; he slumped to the ground, panting heavily, looking like a dehydrated salted fish.

At this moment, Chu Yao's sweet voice rang in Lin Yi's ears: "Master, we found a strange stone where the Ghost King disappeared. It seems to have words carved on it." Upon hearing this, Lin Yi immediately perked up. This wretched place was full of ghosts and monsters. It was rare to find something different, so he definitely had to take a look.

He walked quickly to the stone tablet and examined it carefully.

Good heavens, this stone is pitch black, with some scribbles on it that look like gibberish, making it dizzying to look at.

Lin Yi was completely confused. What was this thing?

He quickly called out to Chu Yao, "Little Yao Yao, come and see what this says!"

After some analysis, Chu Yao said with a hint of excitement, "Master, these words seem to be related to the interdimensional invaders, and... and the whereabouts of your parents!" Lin Yi's heart skipped a beat, and he clenched his fists. Could it be that he could find his parents?

But Chu Yao poured cold water on the idea: "However, these texts are incomplete, and we need to find other clues to fully decipher them."

Lin Yi stared at the stone tablet, then turned to look at Long Wu, who was still fast asleep. Lin Yi sighed helplessly, "Fifth Brother, wake up, time to move bricks... oh no, time to set off!" Long Wu groggily opened his eyes, muttering, "What? Another fight?... Wait, this stone..." His voice trailed off, his gaze fixed on the stone tablet, as if he had seen something unbelievable...
