On the street outside Elena's house, a group of poor people were kneeling in neat rows.
They lowered their heads, but their eyes kept moving, and they pricked up their ears to listen to the movements around them. The little people have their own survival rules. They dared not resist the noble masters, but that did not mean they did not want to listen to the masters' gossip.
Torento was no better than these poor people. He was like a prisoner awaiting trial. If he had a choice, he would rather not have come here.
Run? That's impossible. Didn't he see that there were two heavily armored soldiers staring at him fiercely? The distance between them was so close that the soldiers had no time to protect him.
Until the heavy footsteps sounded again, and the heavy armored warrior came back.
The Dark Warrior came to Torrento and said to him, "Follow me, I want to see you."
After saying that, he turned and left. Torento turned his head to look at the soldiers behind him, sighed, and followed.
He never thought that one day he would walk into a poor man's house with his head down. He thought this was an insult to the nobility, but he was at the mercy of others and if he didn't behave himself, his life would be in danger.
When he reached the door, the black warrior stopped and looked at Elena who was still kneeling on the ground and said, "Get up and cook. My lord needs food."
Elena pointed at herself and then looked at Master Torento who was following behind the Black Warrior.
The black warrior turned his head to look at Torento, and Torento quickly showed a kind little face, muttering in his heart, what are you looking at me for? Do you think I can be useful? Do I dare to say no?
That cowardly look overturned the image of noble lords in Elena's mind. She instantly felt that these noble lords were nothing special. They were not so righteous in the face of life and death, and were as cowardly as these poor people.
She stood up, rubbed her sore legs, and ran to cook. The Black Knight took Torento and continued to walk into the house to meet Li Ziyu.
As he entered the bedroom, Torento smelled the scent of herbs.
Nobles rarely use herbs. They prefer magic potions with stronger recovery abilities and faster recovery speeds, or they seek help from magicians to use magic to recover directly. In their minds, only poor people use herbs to heal wounds.
After scanning the room, Torento's eyes were fixed on Li Ziyu who was leaning on the bed.
"My lord, why don't you pay your respects to me, my lord?" the black warrior said dissatisfiedly.
Torunto was startled, and quickly bowed and said to Li Ziyu, "Greetings, sir."
The black warrior was still not satisfied. In his opinion, Li Ziyu was the master of their skeletons and undead, and this human was just a follower. It would not be enough to just pay respects, he had to pay homage with great ceremony.
He wanted to scold her again, but Li Ziyu waved his hand, indicating that there was no need to say more. The black warrior then stood aside quietly.
"Let me introduce myself. My name is Li Ziyu. As you can see, these are all my soldiers. What should I call you?" Li Ziyu asked while looking at Torento.
"Sir, my name is Torento, and I'm the local shepherd." Torento responded without any airs.
"Toronto, why are you here?" Li Ziyu asked.
"I received information that someone here killed a vampire monster, so I came here rashly and disturbed your rest. I'm very sorry." Torento lowered his posture and said apologetically.
That makes sense.
Li Ziyu felt relieved that they were not here for him, and then asked, "Have you ever seen a moving city?"
Torento was stunned when he heard this, and couldn't help but wonder in his heart, how could there be a city in this world that can move? If so, then the wilderness would no longer be dangerous.
He shook his head and answered honestly, "Sir, I have never heard of a moving city, let alone seen one."
Li Ziyu nodded. If it wasn’t for the lack of information in this world, then there would be no mobile cities and no time travelers in this world.
This way I feel more at ease.
Sometimes time travelers are more worrying than the natives.
"Toronto, I heard that you have an heirloom pendant?" Li Ziyu turned and asked about the pendant.
"Yes, sir, the pendant is here." Torento took off the skull mask pendant from his neck and presented it with both hands.
Li Ziyu took the pendant and took a look at it. Just by looking at the skull mask, he could tell at a glance that it was an undead style item.
Holding the pendant, Li Ziyu asked Torunto, "Do you know what this pendant means?"
How would I know what this pendant means? Isn't it just an ornament given by the temple? Every noble family should have a few of them. What's so special about it?
Torento complained in his heart. As far as he knew, there were many similar accessories, not only pendants, but also rings, earrings, bracelets, arm rings, and even some weird accessories, such as nose rings, tongue studs and the like.
There are many types of ornaments, but the common point is that they all came from the temple, and they all have a creepy skull shape and are all inherited from ancestors.
However, families that own such ornaments usually have ancestral teachings telling them to protect the ornaments, not to lose them, and to have a sense of reverence for them. But I have never heard any noble say what is special about the ornaments.
From what the adult in front of him said, this jewelry seemed to be quite something. However, he really didn't know what was so special about the pendant. So, with a confused look on his face, he shook his head and said, "Sir, this is a family heirloom of mine. It doesn't have any special meaning."
Li Ziyu narrowed her eyes and waved the pendant in front of him. "Think carefully about it. Is there any message left by your family about this pendant or your identity?"
