Chapter 101 Aunt Jiang's Plans Fail

Jiang Shuyun spoke frankly, mainly because he didn't want to deal with his aunt or the Zhou family.

"Ah! Is there really no other way?"

"There's no other way. We signed an agreement, and we can't break it."

Jiang Shuyun did not budge an inch; neither he nor the original owner of this body had any feelings for Aunt Jiang.

Aunt Jiang was very unwilling. She was still thinking of using watermelons to leave a good impression on the wives of officials and wealthy merchants in the county town, which would make things much easier for her in the future.

Zhou Zilin, too, had been instructed by his father and brothers to buy watermelons from his fiancée's brother. But after listening for a while, he realized there was no hope. He glanced at his fiancée sitting beside him, his eyes filled with expectation.

Jiang Lan received a look from her fiancé and wondered if she could get her second brother to compromise, would she have a better position in the Zhou family in the future?

"Second brother, can't you think of a way? Aunt and Zhou Lang's family are real relatives, and they really want to cooperate with you."

Jiang Shuyun felt that Jiang Lan was being a bit presumptuous. He had already rejected his aunt, so why would he contradict himself for her sake?

"No, not to mention the hefty compensation, we can't break the contract just yet, not only for the sake of our reputation. My aunt and the Zhou family are both in business; they should understand the importance of reputation."

Jiang Shuyun wouldn't budge no matter what. Aunt Jiang thought he was a bit heartless, and Jiang Lan felt that her second brother didn't care about her. She was so angry that her eyes reddened, and she called out to her mother in grievance.

"Mother, Aunt, there are still many things to do at home, so I won't stay any longer."

"well……"

Aunt Jiang wanted to say something, but didn't know what to say, so she could only watch helplessly as her nephew left.

Jiang's mother said nothing. She wouldn't force her son for her daughter's sake; she had done enough for Jiang Lan. Since the family division, she had decided she would no longer indulge her.

Aunt Jiang knew there was no room for maneuver, so she didn't linger. She and Zhou Zilin came in a hurry and left just as quickly.

Jiang Lan was unhappy that she couldn't help her fiancé, but she couldn't show it on her face. She smiled and saw her aunt and Zhou Lang off.

Mu Yi'an was still fast asleep and had no idea that Aunt Jiang had come. Even if she did know, she wouldn't care, as they were not on the same path.
