Jiang Shuyun returned to Jiangjia Village to visit her parents, and also planned to visit her parents-in-law at the Mu family home.
"Shuyun, come in quickly. Why have you lost so much weight? Is the food at the academy bad?"
Looking at her son-in-law, who had become darker and thinner, Mu's mother felt extremely distressed.
“Mother-in-law, the food at the academy is quite good. I went on a study tour a while ago.”

Mother Mu was unaware that her son-in-law had gone on a study tour. Her son, Ziyi, had gone to study in the prefectural city and hadn't returned for the past six months.

Jiang Shuyun actually preferred coming to the Mu family. Her parents-in-law were nice people, and there weren't as many problems at home.
The Mu family are not locals and have no relatives to rely on. Although they lack family protection, they also have fewer troubles.
"Father, Mother, the children are off school tomorrow, let's go to the estate for a day. Shuyun will be going back to the academy in a few days, let's get together while he's home."

Shao Yun was a little dazed and didn't hear the whole thing.

Jiang Shuyun touched Shao Yun's hair. When she first started growing her hair, it was only big enough to make a single pigtail.
"I was sleepy just now, Mom. Are my cousins all going tomorrow?"
"Okay, you can all go. Then you can play with Da Mao, Er Mao, and San Mao."
Mu Yi'an thought of the three puppies on the estate, who were named Da Mao, Er Mao, and San Mao by the children. After a while, they actually accepted the name.
"Great, I've been wanting this for ages."
Because of Shao Yun's interruption, Mu Yi'an and the others did not continue their previous topic.
The carriage stopped in front of the general store. Zhao Wu looked at the carriage, Jiang Shuyun was holding Chu Yue, and Mu Yi'an was holding Shao Yun's hand. They went into the general store together.
"Sir, Madam, what do you need? Let me show you."
The shop assistant at the grocery store was very friendly and greeted Mu Yi'an and her companions warmly.
"Candy, buy candy."
Chu Yue was being held by her father when she saw the rock candy in the shop. It was yellow, and she recognized it.
"Little sister, Mom said we can't eat too much candy, or our teeth will hurt."
Shao Yun stopped his sister, and Chu Yue glanced at her brother and then at her mother.
"Dad, have some candy."
Jiang Shuyun's heart melted at that moment. His little girl's teary eyes were looking at him, and he really couldn't refuse.

Jiang Shuyun looked at her daughter-in-law and pleaded for her daughter.
"We can only buy a little bit, Chuyue, you can only eat a small piece."
"A small piece."
Chuyue used her chubby fingers to measure a small piece.
Even Mu Yi'an couldn't resist Chu Yue's cuteness.
Mu Yi'an bought charcoal and also took a liking to two wire meshes. She didn't know what they were originally used for, but the size was just right for grilling meat.
I searched around the general store and found cumin. It was supposedly from the prefectural city, brought over by their owner. I don't know what they're going to use it for.
After buying everything, Mu Yi'an and the others hurried home, as there were other things to prepare.
The next day, Mu Yi'an's family, along with Li's family and Fang's mother and daughter, were all taken along. Zhao Wu made two extra trips to bring them all to the estate.
"Grandfather and Grandmother, hello!"
Shao Ming and his companions ran into the Mu family at the entrance of the manor and quickly greeted them.
"Auntie, Uncle, Aunt Qi, hello!"
The younger generation of the Mu family also greeted Mu Yi'an and the others, and they didn't forget Jiang Qi.
"Mu Xuan, take your younger brother and sister to play. Don't go to any remote places."
"Okay, Auntie, let's go see the puppy."
Mu Xuan had heard Shao Ming mention the three Maos, and he was curious about it too.
"Master, I'm going to check on the young masters and young ladies."
Li Li quickly asked for instructions. He had learned a lot from Jiang Shuyun, especially from being with the other students' servants, where they all learned from each other.

Mu Yi'an thought about it and realized it made sense; her second sister-in-law's twins weren't even a year old yet.
"Dad, Mom, let's go inside. We've prepared lots of food. We're having a picnic outside today. There's a stream in the village; it's very cool there."
"Okay, I'll do as you say today."
Mother Mu was happy; with her daughter by her side, everything was fine.
The group took their things and went to the stream. Zhao Wu had come over yesterday and said that Sister Xu had already made preparations.
A table and chairs were placed by the stream, along with a large bamboo mat.
Mu Yi'an asked Sister Li to bring out the pork, mutton, shrimp, vegetables, etc. that she had bought that morning. She directed Sister Li and Sister Fang to work together to wash the meat and cut it into dice-sized pieces as Mu Yi'an had instructed.
