Chapter 149 The Little Girl at the Clinic

After breakfast, those going to work and those going to school all left, and suddenly there were far fewer people.

Jiang's mother was not going to the clinic until 9:00 AM, so the old couple strolled around the courtyard and chatted.

"Second sister-in-law, the medicinal cuisine at the clinic is excellent. The ingredients and herbs are perfectly combined, and most importantly, the cooking time is perfectly controlled. Now I know what real medicinal cuisine is. The one I make myself can't compare to theirs at all."

Jiang Qi's long speech contained a great deal of praise and regret.

"Is it really that amazing? I don't know anything about medicinal cuisine, I only know whether it tastes good or not, but I really can't say anything about it."

"Yes, he's very skilled. Especially Dr. Chu, he's quite capable. Many patients come in looking worried and in pain. After Dr. Chu's treatment, they feel relieved. If he can't treat a patient, he'll just tell them that he can't treat them and tell them to find a more skilled doctor."

Jiang Qi spoke of Dr. Chu with obvious admiration.

Mu Yi'an had never met Doctor Chu, but Jiang Qi wasn't one to exaggerate. Since she said so, it must be true.

At this moment, neither of the two sisters-in-law expected that Doctor Chu would have another connection with them.

This time, Mr. Jiang was going to accompany Mrs. Jiang to the clinic, so Mrs. Fang stayed at home.

Upon arriving at the clinic, Jiang's mother waited for a while before it was her turn for acupuncture.

"Jiang Qi, I'll stay with your mother. You go and rest for a while."

Mr. Jiang told his daughter to go out for some fresh air, while he stayed here with his wife.

Jiang Qi glanced around and, seeing that the room was too small, walked out of the acupuncture room.

The clinic is divided into two parts: one is where the medicine cabinet is placed, and the other is where the doctor holds consultations.

On the side where the doctor holds consultations, there is also an acupuncture room, which is divided into small private rooms to protect the privacy of patients to the greatest extent.

There are two female doctors at the clinic. They are often responsible for performing acupuncture on female patients, while Dr. Chu provides guidance from outside.

The clinic should have a backyard, because Jiang Qi had not seen a place for preparing medicinal cuisine.

"Ouch, I bumped into someone."

Jiang Qi didn't notice the little girl rushing out from behind, and she bumped her head into her leg.

"How are you feeling? Did it hurt?"

Jiang Qi squatted down and examined the little girl's forehead. She felt that the force of the impact was quite strong.

"Ooh...it hurts so much, ooh..."

The little girl had very fair skin, and the red mark on her forehead was quite noticeable.

"Did you bump your head and hurt? Let me blow on it for you, and it will stop hurting."

Jiang Qi is very experienced. His chubby little girl, Chu Yue, is also very lively and often bumps into things.

Jiang Qi gently blew on the little girl's forehead, and the little girl suddenly threw herself into her arms, hugging her neck tightly with both hands.

"Anran, what's wrong? Did you sneak out? Where's your wet nurse?"

Jiang Qi heard the voice above her head and tried to stand up, but the girl was holding her too tightly, so she couldn't get up for a moment.

"Anran, let go of my hand."

"No, Auntie smells nice, just like my mother."

The little girl wouldn't let go; instead, she hugged him even tighter.

Jiang Qi didn't pull the little girl's hand away, nor could she stay squatting like that forever, so she could only stand up while holding the little girl.

"Dr. Chu, I'm sorry, I didn't notice this child running over and bumped his forehead on my leg, it's red now."

Jiang Qi stood up and saw that the voice belonged to Doctor Chu.

"It's all my daughter's fault. She sneaked out when the wet nurse wasn't looking."

Dr. Chu had just finished seeing a patient when he heard his daughter crying and came looking for her.

"It's alright, the child is at a lively age, just like my nephews and nieces."

Jiang Qi didn't know what to say. This was too unexpected. The girl was clinging to her neck and wouldn't let go. She didn't know how to handle it.

"Miss, you scared the wet nurse to death!"

A slightly plump woman ran out from behind, her face still damp with sweat; she seemed genuinely anxious.

"Master, it's my fault for not watching over Miss properly."

"Be more careful next time, and don't let Anran run ahead by herself. It would be very dangerous if she ran out on her own."

Doctor Chu was at a loss with his daughter and could only emphasize that the wet nurse should be more attentive.

"Miss, your nanny will take you to eat. There will be some crispy fish, which you like."

"Okay, thank you, Auntie. Can I come visit you to play sometime?"

The little girl's round eyes blinked at you, making it hard to refuse her.

"Anran, go inside with the wet nurse."

Dr. Chu spoke in a serious tone. The little girl pouted, her expression on the verge of tears somewhat resembling Chu Yue's.

The wet nurse took the little girl away, and Jiang Qi breathed a sigh of relief; she was about to give in.

"I'm sorry to have troubled you."

"It's okay, the little girl is so cute, it's hard to refuse her."

Jiang Qi curtsied and went to the acupuncture room to see her mother.

Dr. Chu went to see the next patient; there were others waiting in line.

Jiang's father helped Jiang's mother out, and Jiang Qi quickly went over to support her mother's other arm.

"Mother, rest for a while. After you've had your medicinal meal, we can go home."

"Okay, I feel even better today than yesterday. It's okay, I don't need you to help me anymore."

Jiang's mother felt better physically and was in a much better mood.

After finishing their medicinal meal, the group took a carriage home.

At home, Sister-in-law Li had already prepared lunch, and as soon as Jiang's father and the others returned, they were ready to eat.

After dinner, Jiang's father went inside to talk to Jiang's mother, while Jiang Qi went to find Chu Yue, as he hadn't had a chance to play with the little girl properly these past few days.

"Shuheng's mother, find a chance to ask Doctor Chu if Jiang Qi's condition really means she can't have children?"
