Chapter 22 The Lamb Eats Grass

"Yes, that's what I'm planning to do too. I'll focus on my studies for the next few years, travel around when I have the chance, and then take the exam when the time is right."

Jiang Shuyun originally planned to study for three years and then take the exam again. However, given his current study progress, it seemed unlikely he could do it in three years. But he could still give it a try, just to get a feel for the realities of the imperial examination system.

"Okay, as long as you have your own budget. If you're short on money, just tell your brother. You might not have much, but you still have enough to buy pens and ink."

"Thank you, Shuwen. Second Brother is still copying books, and he can earn a few taels of silver a month, which is enough to cover his expenses for now."

Jiang Shuyun thanked him sincerely. He knew that this third brother was a shrewd and capable man, much more quick-witted and adept at interpersonal relationships than the original owner of this body.

The two brothers rarely had the opportunity to talk so much, and they both found it quite novel.

Jiang Shuyun, being an only child, had never experienced this feeling before, talking to her siblings.

Jiang Shuwen was surprised because his second brother had finally descended to earth. He used to only know how to study, to the point that he was almost stupid. He once suspected that his second brother was going to become an immortal.

The three children were tired from playing and kept yawning. The two parents stopped talking and quickly took their children back to bed.

"Where are Shaoming and the other two?"

"They were tired from playing and fell asleep. Watching them take grass to feed the sheep reminded me of when I was little and went to the deer park. I brought a bag of vegetables and felt very happy after feeding them. Have you ever fed animals at the zoo?"

Mu Yi'an rolled her eyes at him. "My family is from the mountains. I started helping my family feed chickens, ducks, pigs, and sheep when I was four or five years old. Am I crazy to go to the zoo to feed animals?"

Jiang Shuyun remembered that this woman came from the mountains and was quite formidable.

"I'm going to copy the book. The little girl is asleep. You should take a nap too."

Jiang Shuyun ran away as soon as she finished speaking; she didn't want to be given the cold shoulder again.

"Heh... I don't eat people, why would I run so fast?"

Mu Yi'an lay down next to the little girl. She needed to take a nap. She had gotten up early in the morning and felt listless if she didn't sleep for a while during the day.
