Chapter 260 Mother Mu Leaves

After returning home from the academy, Jiang Shuyun first greeted her father, mother, and mother-in-law.

"Shuyun, Yi'an has finished her postpartum confinement period, and I plan to go back in the next few days."

With everyone present, Mu's mother announced her decision.

"Mother-in-law, why are you in such a hurry?"

"I've been here for almost two months, and I still have a lot of things to do at home."

Moreover, Ziyi is newly married and studying at the academy. It wouldn't be appropriate for me to leave my new wife for too long.

Mother Mu wasn't afraid of any conflicts between her eldest daughter-in-law and her youngest daughter-in-law; however, she couldn't bear to leave her newly arrived daughter-in-law alone to face her unfamiliar in-laws.

Most importantly, An and the child are both doing well and her health is recovering well, so she is relieved.

"Husband, I'll accompany Mother to Uncle's house tomorrow. Ask Ziyi if he has any leave. We can take Mother back and visit his wife while we're at it."

Mu Yi'an felt that it was unfair to Zi Yi to separate from his wife so soon after their marriage.

"Okay, I understand. I'll ask Ziyi tomorrow."

Jiang's parents were not in a hurry to go back; they wanted to wait until after the two children's 100th day.

Mu's mother decided to go back, and Mu Yi'an found out after breakfast.

She has already sent Steward Li to prepare plenty of gifts and will also send someone to escort her mother back.

In ancient times, it was truly remarkable that a mother from the maternal family could accompany her daughter during childbirth and after her postpartum period.

Mu Yi'an was grateful, so she prepared quite a few gifts.

When it was time to go to bed that night, Jiang Shuyun told Yi'an about the conversation the headmaster had with him.

"Really, we should thank the headmaster properly. We couldn't make up our minds about this, and we didn't know whether it was a blessing or a curse."

The headmaster is willing to lend a helping hand, but he also has to take risks. If this succeeds, he will have made a great contribution.

Mu Yi'an wondered what she should give the headmaster.

Yellow and white things are too vulgar and an insult to culture.

The elegant plants in the manor have just been planted, and the lotus leaves have only just sprouted, so it is not yet time to invite the abbot to admire the lotus flowers.

Or, we could give some of the pickled vegetables we made at home to the headmaster.

Mu Yi'an can cook some side dishes, which she learned from videos in her previous life. She knows quite a few kinds, including authentic Sichuan pickled vegetables, Northeastern pickled vegetables, and pickled bamboo shoots from the south.

Nowadays, barbecue stalls and vegetable stalls are starting to sell these side dishes.

"Yi'an, what are you thinking about?"

"I'm thinking about what to give the headmaster to express our gratitude."

"The headmaster is no ordinary person. Tomorrow, I will bring some of the vegetables from my home to the headmaster. He will surely like them."

Jiang Shuyun only found out yesterday that the headmaster likes spicy food.

The family has both spicy and non-spicy side dishes, which is perfect! It suits the taste of the headmaster.

"Okay, our side dishes are one of a kind."

Mu Yi'an felt a surge of pride as she thought about the pickle jars in the cellar.

"By the way, Yi'an, the headmaster said that we need to name the two children."

"What?"

Mu Yi'an got excited and didn't control the volume, which made the two little ones frown and were about to cry.

Mu Yi'an quickly patted the cradle and hummed a tuneless lullaby for a while.

"Why don't you say that the headmaster is a great Confucian scholar!"

These two little ones are so lucky!

Mu Yi'an now fully understands the feelings of those parents in her past life who spent a lot of money to name their children.

"Hehe... I was so happy at the time."

"Alright, don't forget to tell Dad tomorrow. He might be thinking about names for the two kids too."

Thinking of this, Mu Yi'an quickly reminded him not to lift anything too heavy.

"Oh dear, I didn't even remember that until you mentioned it."

Jiang Shuyun slapped her forehead, realizing she had been careless.

After the couple finished discussing their business, it was time for them to go to bed.

Jiang Shuyun hugged Yi'an, then bent down and kissed her to satisfy her craving.

"Virtue!"

Mu Yi'an laughed and scolded, then went to bed to prepare for sleep.

The next day, Jiang Shuyun went to talk to her father about the headmaster's plan to name the two children.

“Really, that’s wonderful! Headmaster of Bailu Academy, I never expected that the two children would be so lucky.”

Mr. Jiang was overjoyed and felt no regret at all that he hadn't been able to name his child.

Jiang Shuyun also felt that the two children were lucky, as everything went smoothly.

After breakfast, Mu Yi'an fed the two children, took the gifts, and went to Uncle Mu's house with her mother.

"Sister-in-law, Yi'an, you're here! Come in quickly. Yi'an, you've recovered very well!"

Aunt Mu smiled broadly, holding Yi'an's hand as she looked her over from left to right.

"Third Aunt, I've gained weight. How's Ziyu's wife? Is her reaction still so strong?"

While Mu Yi'an was in postpartum confinement, Mu Ziyu's wife also found out she was pregnant.

"I'm much better now, thanks to Doctor Chu. He prescribed a medicinal diet for me, and after eating it for a while, I've improved a lot."

Aunt Mu really didn't expect that Jiang Qi's second husband was such a skilled doctor.

"That's good. It will improve in three or four months."

Mu Yi'an herself didn't have much of a reaction. The two children took good care of her and didn't bother her much.

"Sister-in-law, I plan to go back tomorrow, so I came to tell you today."

Mother Mu explained her purpose for coming. She had a good relationship with her younger brother and sister-in-law, and she was a little reluctant to part ways with them.

"Sister-in-law, why are you in such a hurry? It's not easy for you to come all this way. You don't like to go out easily."

Aunt Mu was a little reluctant to see her sister-in-law go back.

"Yi'an is recovering well, the child is easy to take care of, and my in-laws and Shuyun are taking good care of him, so I'm relieved."
