Chapter 289 Mr. Liang's Legs Can Be Cured

Mu Yi'an didn't expect that not only Doctor Chu would come, but also Master Wan and his wife.

"Second sister-in-law, we're here."

"Master Wan, Mistress, come in and rest."

Mu Yi'an was quite surprised to see the elderly couple getting out of the car.

"Madam Jiang, we've come to bother you for a few days. We regret that we didn't get a proper look around the estate last time we visited."

"You're too kind. You can come anytime you like."

Perfect timing! The watermelons will be ripe in the next few days, and the lotus flowers will soon be blooming.

Mu Yi'an still admires Master Wan and his wife very much. They lost their own child but were still able to raise their disciple, and they had a peaceful mindset.

"Then we've come at the perfect time. I've never seen a watermelon growing in the ground before."

"Then you can stay a few more days and see as much as you like."

Mu Yi'an led Jiang Qi and Master Wan into the inner courtyard, while Doctor Chu invited his master to rest in the outer courtyard, where Steward Li took care of him.

"Second Sister-in-law, can Shao Rong and Shao Ke sit up now?"

"Shao Rong can sit up by himself now; he's quite lively."

Shao Ke can sit up, but she's rather lazy and doesn't like to move.

Shao Ke completely adhered to the principle of sitting rather than standing, lying down rather than sitting, and was even lazy when turning over.

"Are the two children really that different in temperament?"

"They're completely different, except for their appearance."

Mu Yi'an was speechless. She had never seen such different twins before, especially identical twins.

"Twins usually have opposite personalities, one active and the other quiet, but they are equally bright."

Master Wan's wife was very knowledgeable and spoke with certainty.

"That's really interesting. I need to see it; it's been more than ten days since I've seen it."

Jiang Qi put down her son; An Ran had already been pulled away by Chu Yue.

Ankang can play by himself now, and he can speak simple words.

With a wet nurse watching over her, Jiang Qi was much less worried.

On the tatami mat in the living room, the two children, one lying down and the other sitting, were each playing their own games.

Sister-in-law Wei and Yun Duo watched from the side, doing some needlework as they went.

"Madam, Grandmother, and Old Madam Wan, greetings!"

"It's alright, you two do your thing, we'll go check on the kids."

Jiang Qi reached out and picked up Shao Rong, who was sitting down.

The little guy wasn't shy at all; he looked at his aunt and made a couple of "ah ah" sounds.

“Mrs. Wan, sit down and rest for a while, have a cup of tea, and we’ll go for a walk later.”

"Okay, Yi'an, I won't stand on ceremony with you."

"That's good. We're all family here. All this formality is just uncomfortable."

Mu Yi'an breathed a sigh of relief. This was for the best. Everyone could relax a bit, which made things much easier.

In the outer courtyard, Master Wan drank a cup of tea and then asked Doctor Chu to accompany him for a stroll.

"Master, let's go check out the melon patch first."

When Dr. Chu saw the melon fields in the village of the county town, he was truly amazed. The watermelons were so big, each one round and plump, stretching as far as the eye could see.

"Okay, I'm actually quite curious."

The master and apprentice walked out together.

The watermelon field wasn't far away, and the two found it without asking for directions.

"Master, look, that's it."

"Really? So many, and so big! Each one must weigh seven or eight pounds, right?"

"About the same size, it looks quite big."

The two walked closer and stood at the edge of the melon patch, looking at the big watermelons hanging on the dark green vines. They were really a sight to behold!

"Nan Sheng, your brother-in-law and his wife are really no ordinary people."

Watermelons, they used to be such a rare treat, but now they're grown so well.

"Yes, my second sister-in-law also grows a lot of medicinal herbs, plants fruit trees, and raises a lot of pigs and sheep."

Doctor Chu knows a lot about what's going on at the estate; he's practically become an unofficial member of the staff.

He provided the farm with disinfectant herbs and helped monitor the growth of the medicinal herbs; he knew a lot about them.

While the master and apprentice were talking, Mr. Liang was also pushed over by Da Hu.

"Sir, Zhuangzi has a guest."

"Okay, let's not disturb the others, let's move over there a bit."

Mr. Liang has nothing to do during the day, so he likes to come here to see the people who are working hard to make a living and to see the vibrant crops.

"Master, what is this?"

Dr. Chu also noticed Mr. Liang in the wheelchair. He wondered if Mr. Liang was a guest of his second brother or someone else.

"He must be injured. Let's go check on him."

Dr. Wan's professional habit kicked in; whenever he saw a patient, he wanted to take a look.

"Excuse me, are you guests of the Jiang family?"

"No, we are teachers invited by the Jiang family to give lessons to the children."

Mr. Liang was surprised that they would come over and even take the initiative to speak.

"I am Chu Nansheng, the son-in-law of the Jiang family. This is my master. We are doctors."

"When I saw you come over, my master wanted to ask if you were injured."

Dr. Chu remembered that Jiang Qi had mentioned that several doctors had come to his second brother's house. They were said to be retired soldiers and quite capable.

"My apologies, I was wounded in the leg by an arrow. I didn't have time to treat it at the time, and later I don't know why, I lost feeling in it."

Mr. Liang has seen many doctors and has given up hope.

Since he was a relative of the employer, and people were asking out of kindness, he didn't feel the need to hide anything.

"Was the arrow poisoned?" Master Wan asked curiously.

"The doctor said it wasn't poisonous, but it did injure the tendons and bones."

Mr. Liang recounted the doctor's previous diagnosis, and he also felt that it was not poisoning.

"May I take a look?"

"There's nothing inconvenient about it. Let's go to the pavilion over there."
