Chapter 321 A Perfect Miss

Brother Jiang decided to help Shuyun manage the school, even though the school is still just a shadow of its former self.

Mu Yi'an's estate is not far from the county town, only about ten miles away from the city gate.

In recent years, Mu Yi'an and her family have bought several hundred acres of land near the village and exchanged land with the families living next to the village.

Now, the village in the county town has eight or nine hundred acres of land, not including the mountainous and forested areas.

The fruit trees planted on the mountain have already borne fruit, and An plans to prune and graft them after spring.

Therefore, she will stay at the estate for a while after returning this time.

In recent years, she hasn't paid much attention to Zhuangzipuzi in the county town, as it's far away.

This time when she came back, she wanted to spend more time with her parents and make some plans for things on the estate.

The county town was Mu Yi'an and her group's escape route. They couldn't put all their eggs in one basket; life is unpredictable, and no one can guarantee smooth sailing forever.

The New Year is just around the corner, and with Aunt Li and the others at home, Mu Yi'an doesn't need to worry about anything.

Butler Li has already gone to the estate to inform them to tidy up the courtyard so they can move in after the New Year.

They all came back this year, making the Jiang family's old house lively and bustling with children; it was quite noisy.

The New Year's Eve dinner was prepared by Sister Li and her team, and two tables were filled to capacity.

Mr. Jiang sat at one table with his son and older grandchildren, while Mrs. Jiang sat at another table with her daughter-in-law and younger children.

Looking at his three sons and a host of grandchildren, Jiang's father realized that his family had finally become prosperous!

The father and his three sons raised their glasses together, everything was in the wine, and they said nothing.

After dinner, Shao Qin took his younger siblings outside to set off fireworks. Mu Yi'an had brought back quite a few from the prefectural city, and the boys were overjoyed.

Chu Yue was also going, so Mu Yi'an dressed her in warm clothes, asked Aunt Fang to keep an eye on her, and then left it to her own devices.

With Li Li and his men outside, there won't be any trouble.

"Chutong, Chuqing, you should go and see too. Your second aunt bought a lot of fireworks."

Mu Yi'an looked at the two girls from Brother Jiang's family with longing and a little timid.

"Go ahead, it's a rare holiday, wear more clothes. In our own yard, we're all family."

Jiang's mother spoke up, and only then did the two girls put on their clothes and go out hand in hand.

Chu Tong is twelve years old, and will be thirteen after the New Year, at which point she can be considered a bride.

"Girls have the easiest time at home. After getting married, they have to serve their parents-in-law, take care of their husbands, and raise children. They are really busy."

Li Qiuniang hugged and kissed her little girl, hoping that her little girl would grow up slowly and that she wouldn't rush things.

"What the third daughter-in-law said is true. It really isn't easy for a girl after she gets married."

Many families live together as a large extended family.

Relationships between mothers-in-law and daughters-in-law, sisters-in-law, sisters-in-law, and husbands and wives are all difficult to manage.

"Eldest daughter-in-law, you need to teach Chu Tong and Chu Qing more, especially Chu Qing. She's too honest; she'll easily suffer losses in the future."

Jiang's mother looked worried when she thought of Chu Qing.

She was born thin and weak, and her eldest daughter-in-law treated her as if she had offended something, showing no affection for her.

The little child has a wound in his heart.

“I understand, Mother.”

There was no use in regretting it; all she could do was try to make amends. But what could she possibly teach?

After a lively and bustling New Year, the family was filled with people visiting each other on the first day of the Lunar New Year to exchange New Year's greetings.

Mu Yi'an prepared a lot of food and red envelopes with a coin inside. When children came to pay New Year's visits, they would grab a handful of food and receive a red envelope.

The children knew which family was well-off, and they all flocked over there.

With so many children, those who wanted to complain about being poor or curry favor had no chance to speak.

On the second day of the Lunar New Year, Mu Yi'an and her family went back to her parents' home.

Jiang Lan also went back to her parents' home, but Mu Yi'an did not wait for them.

She finally managed to come back, so of course she wanted to visit her parents' home and have a good time.

Jiang Lan's first child was a daughter, who was more than half a year older than Mu Yi'an's twins.

Now, I'm pregnant again, and I'm already over four months along.

"Happy New Year, Mom and Dad!"

"Happy New Year, Grandfather and Grandmother!"

The little girl from Jiang Lan's family was being held by her wet nurse, who was exchanging New Year's greetings.

"Please sit down. Are you still experiencing morning sickness?"

"Much better, not so tiring anymore. Where are my second brother and sister-in-law? I heard they're back?"

Jiang Lan came in and didn't see anyone, which was quite strange.

"Your brother and sister-in-law have gone back to their parents' home."

Looking at her obviously disappointed youngest daughter, Jiang's mother really didn't know what to say.

This kid's intentions are written all over his face; he doesn't know how to hide them at all.

"I forgot, I've been so forgetful since I got pregnant."

"Mom, could my second brother and the others stay a little longer? They rarely come back."

"I don't know, they didn't say."

Jiang Lan was a little disappointed that she didn't hear what she wanted to hear.

Jiang's family is from the same village, and their relationship has become rather strained.

Today I went back to my parents' home. They brought gifts, and my family praised Shuyun for being so capable and envied how well they were doing.

They implied that their family was struggling financially and hoped they could help them by spending some money.

Jiang's sister-in-law was heartbroken. During the Spring Festival, her married daughter returned to her parents' home, and instead of preparing some good food and drinks to entertain her, she even complained about being poor. She really didn't care whether her daughter was doing well in her husband's family.

What's most infuriating is that her mother and sister-in-law even had designs on Chu Tong, wanting to arrange a marriage between Chu Tong and their nephew. This angered Sister-in-law Jiang so much that she didn't even eat, and the whole family went straight home.

Brother Jiang was also angry. His Chu Tong was beautiful, literate, and good at embroidery. How could she possibly marry that spendthrift son of the Lin family?

"Wanru, when you go back to your parents' home in the future, don't bring your children with you, especially Chutong and Chuqing."
