This was the first time in Gu Zheng's life that he had to organize his own things. He even had several people help him take a bath.
When he ate, someone would serve him food; when he ate fish, someone would pick out the bones; and the meat was always cut into small pieces…
Today, he ate fish by himself and got pricked. And that braised pork ribs were delicious, but you had to gnaw on the bones yourself…
One night, he acted like an ignorant child, always having to look at Jiang Shaoming and the others before doing anything.
However, this experience was not bad; it let him know that he was not a useless person.
As Gu Zheng pondered this, he busily rummaged through the items.
Why did his mother prepare so many things for him, including his usual quilt and pillow?
Sigh, I should try not to make his mother angry in the future. A child with a mother is a treasure!
There were so many boxes that Gu Zheng couldn't possibly finish packing them all.
He simply laid out the bedding, put the pillows away, and took out his usual clothes, throwing them directly into the closet.
This wardrobe is quite interesting; it's different from the ones in his shop. I don't know what the horizontal bars inside are for, and there are quite a few curved bamboo items hanging on them, I wonder what they're for either.
Gu Zheng took out his bow and arrow and hung it on the wall. It was a small bow with no killing power.
The main problem is that he doesn't have enough strength to draw the bow fully.
It was already dark, and Gu Zheng's room was still a mess, with no clue what to do.
"Gu Zheng, it's time to take a shower. Have you finished cleaning up yet?"
Shao Yun and Shao Kun came over to call Gu Zheng to wash up. They wondered how he was getting ready, since it had taken him so long.
"Come in, I haven't finished tidying up yet, I can't find my bath supplies."
Gu Zheng opened the door and let Jiang Shaoyun in.
"Oh dear, what happened to you? It looks like you've been robbed!"
"I've never done anything like this before in my life, I really don't know how to do it."
Gu Zheng looked dejected; he felt he was making things worse.
"It's okay, everyone has a first time. If you don't mind, we can help you clean up."
Once you've cleaned it up once, you'll know how to do it again.
Looking at his new friend, Shao Yun wondered how he had managed his life before.
"I don't mind, there's nothing I can't show to others."
Gu Zheng perked up. Jiang Shaoyun was a nice person and didn't laugh at him.
"Alright then, let's start by making the beds."
Shao Yun and Shao Kun helped make the bed, but instead of doing it themselves, they directed Gu Zheng to participate.
"The bed's done, now let's organize the wardrobe. You just threw everything in here at once, it's going to get all wrinkled."
"Look, these are clothes hangers. Hang the clothes up one by one like this."
Shao Yun demonstrated, and Gu Zheng followed suit, hanging up the clothes. It was actually quite interesting.
The three of them then tidied up the contents of the box, leaving the items they didn't need in the box.
Place everyday essentials in the room or study.
"So, packing isn't too difficult, is it?"
"Did I tidy this up? Did I really tidy it up?"
Looking at the tidy room, Gu Zheng was a little incredulous; he was actually so capable.
"We helped you pack it up, and we hope you can be self-reliant in the future."
I believe you didn't do very well, keep it up!
Jiang Shaoyun relayed the words her mother had used to encourage them to Gu Zheng verbatim.
"Yes, yes, I'm sure I can learn it, I definitely can."
This was the first time that Young Master Gu had received such encouragement and praise, and he felt confident that he could do it.
"Let's go take a shower, it's time to rest."
Shao Yun has a fixed schedule, and he's sleepy.
"Okay, I'm going to take a shower. I'm sleepy too."
They were all boys, so there was nothing to be shy about showering together. Shao Yun and Shao Kun were used to it, but Gu Zheng was a little embarrassed because it was the first time he had ever been so open with someone.
However, seeing Shao Yun and Shao Kun diligently washing up, he stopped worrying about it.
After washing up, everyone went back to their rooms to sleep.
Hiding in the shadows, Gu Wen and Gu Wu were both incredulous. Was this really their family's troublemaking Seventh Young Master Gu?
The children in the East Courtyard had all gone to rest, and Jiang Shuyun and Mu Yi'an were also preparing to rest in the main house of the main courtyard.
"Yi'an, I'm really sorry about Gu Zheng's matter. I didn't have time to discuss it with you."
The main thing is that the headmaster caught me off guard. Honestly, I never knew he had that side to him; he doesn't seem like a learned scholar at all.
Jiang Shuyun still feels a bit like she's dreaming when she thinks back to how the headmaster looked back then; it doesn't feel real.
"Perhaps the headmaster was more carefree when he was young."
The headmaster wasn't born with such a heavy burden and the need to take every matter seriously.
Mu Yi'an could understand. There was an old professor at their university who was very serious and had high expectations for his students. No one dared to skip his classes.
However, in private, Mu Yi'an had seen the old professor's lively side, which was quite different from his usual self.
“That’s true. When Shao Ming and I were young, we were also very naughty. But as we grew up, we understood more things and put ourselves in shackles.”
"There's no other way. This is ancient times. Every eldest son in every family goes through this."
We can't change it, so let's not let the child end up with something that's neither fish nor fowl.
Although Mu Yi'an felt that Shao Ming was being a bit tired, what could she do?
"There are some things that, no matter how hard we try, we just can't really get involved in."
But Shao Ming and his friends are different; they grew up in such an environment and can only adapt.
