Sister-in-law Jiang spoke urgently; she was genuinely worried. She had been hoping her sister-in-law would marry into a wealthy family, and they could benefit from the marriage. Now it was all over. Her sister-in-law was divorced, and wealthy families would have no interest in families like theirs.
Upon hearing her sister-in-law's words, Jiang Qi's face turned pale. She hadn't expected that she would have such a negative impact on her sister and niece; she was only focused on being happy to be able to leave the Fan family.
“Sister-in-law, I have no objection to what you said about Chu Tong, but don’t bring Chu Yue into it. Don’t say that they are still many years away from being a couple. Even if Chu Yue gets married in the future and doesn’t have a good life in her husband’s family, I will make her get a divorce and come back.”
Mu Yi'an looked at Sister-in-law Jiang and spoke with utmost seriousness.
"Second sister-in-law, why do you always disagree with me? This is not something to joke about."
“Sister-in-law, I’m not contradicting you; I’m speaking from the heart. I think, compared to saving face and the gossip of outsiders, isn’t the child’s happiness more important?”
Mu Yi'an didn't look at anyone; that's what she thought, and that's what she said.
"You don't need to overthink it. This matter has already been decided. I'm just informing you."
Jiang's father made the final decision, silencing everyone.
"Shuheng, keep an eye on the school tomorrow. Shuyun and I will go to the Fan family together. Third daughter-in-law, you go with your eldest sister to pack your things. The rest of you, keep an eye on the house and don't cause any trouble."
After giving his instructions, Jiang's father turned and left for his study. Mu Yi'an got up and left, followed closely by Jiang Shuyun. The others, however unwilling, also had to leave.
"Eldest son's wife, you'll cook tomorrow."
Jiang's mother called her two daughters to leave, as she had some things to tell them.
The family meeting ended quickly, and whether it will escalate into a fight later is another matter.
