After attending Chuyue's first birthday celebration and seeing Mu Yi'an's watermelon seedlings, the Mu family went home.
Brother Mu got out of the car and, without even changing his clothes, went inside to check on the watermelon seedlings.
"Well, they don't grow as well as the ones from Yi An's family, but on this day, some more seeds sprouted and seedlings emerged from the soil."
Brother Mu went around and checked each one. His watermelon seedlings probably had to be planted a day or two later than Yi An's, and they didn't seem as robust as hers.
Mother Mu went back to her room to change her clothes first, and then went to check on her second daughter-in-law. She wondered how she was doing today, as her belly was frighteningly large.
"Mother, how did Chuyue's first birthday celebration go?"
Hearing the commotion, Sister-in-law Mu came out of the house.
"Everything went smoothly. Chuyue is getting prettier and prettier. Yi'an prepared so many things, but she immediately took a liking to the big apple in the corner, picked it up and started eating it. It was so funny."
"That's good too, being able to eat is a blessing!"
Sister-in-law Mu herself has no daughter, but she dotes on the daughters of her husband's younger sister and her second brother's wife.
How is the second son's wife?
"She's alright, but she's not eating much. Her belly is too big, and it's making her uncomfortable."

Sister-in-law Mu once again sighed that they were lucky to have such a good mother-in-law who didn't torment her daughter-in-law or interfere in her son's affairs.

Mu's mother felt that her memory was getting worse; she had just been thinking about this matter and almost forgot about it again.
Sister-in-law Mu smiled as she watched her mother-in-law leave in a hurry.
"Sister-in-law, have Mother and the others returned?"
Sister-in-law Mu, supporting her belly with her hands, slowly walked out.
She was carrying twins, and her belly was larger than usual. Now, when she looked down, she couldn't even see her toes. Her legs and feet were also severely swollen; pressing on them would leave a deep indentation.

Mu Ersao's father was a constable in the county, and his family had some assets. She could have married into a family in the county town, and her circumstances wouldn't have been bad.
However, her father thought Mu Ziwu was a good person and capable. After learning about the Mu family's situation, he felt that there were few people in the family and few troubles, so he decided to marry her off to them.
After so many years of marriage and two children, she has never had a serious argument with her mother-in-law or sisters-in-law. Her mother-in-law is understanding and reasonable, and although her sister-in-law is assertive, she is reasonable and takes good care of her. Her only sister-in-law, although favored, is not arrogant and always acts with great discretion.
"Yingying, I'm back."
The shouts at the courtyard gate interrupted Sister-in-law Mu's thoughts, making her forget what she had been thinking about.
"Why are you back at this hour? Aren't you busy?"
Qian Ying was quite surprised to see Mu Ziwu walk in.
"You're about to give birth, and I'm worried about you. There's nothing much going on at the office, so I'm taking leave."
Mu Ziwu, weary from his journey, was thirsty and went to the kitchen to get some water.
"Did you have meal?"
“I’ve eaten, don’t worry about me. Before I came back, I went to Huichuntang again and talked to Doctor Huang. If you go into labor, we’ll bring him over to take care of things.”
Mu Ziwu knew his mother had arranged all these things, but he wouldn't feel at ease unless he went to tell her. After all, twins were in more danger than a single child.
When Sister-in-law Mu saw that Ziwu had returned and that someone was keeping her second sister-in-law company, she turned to look at her own husband. As soon as he came back, he went to check on the watermelon seedlings without even changing his clothes.
"How are the melon seedlings from the An family growing?"
"The seedlings from ours are better than ours; they look stronger and there are more seedlings. When we covered our seedlings with soil, some of them were covered with too much soil."
Brother Mu checked again, made sure everything was alright, and then went out with his wife.
Mu Ersao went into labor three days later. Qian Ying woke up just as dawn was breaking, experiencing waves of abdominal pain. Having already given birth to two children, she knew she was about to give birth.
"Ziwu, I'm going into labor, wake up."
"What? She's going into labor?"
Because of his worries, Mu Ziwu didn't sleep very soundly, so he woke up as soon as his wife called him.
"Go and call our mother and sister-in-law."
"Okay, I'll go right away. Don't rush or be afraid, I'm here."
Mu Ziwu quickly got dressed, pushed open the door, and went out.
"Mother, Mother, Yingying is about to give birth, please wake up."
"Sister-in-law, sister-in-law, Yingying is about to give birth!"
Mu Ziwu patted his parents' window a few times and called out "Sister-in-law Mu" a few times.
Mother Mu woke up immediately, and Sister-in-law Mu also heard it.
"Ziwu, call out to Aunt Wang, then have Uncle Wang hitch up the carriage to fetch the doctor, and you go find the midwife yourself."
Mu's mother instructed Mu Ziwu on what to do through the window.
"Okay, Mom, hurry up."
Mu Ziwu went to the gatehouse to find Uncle Wang and Aunt Wang. After hearing their agreement, he went to find the midwife himself.
The midwife arrived, and Wang Ma started boiling water.
Inside the room, Sister-in-law Mu lay on the bed. The midwife washed her hands and checked; the cervix was dilating quite quickly.
