The 168th pig has been slaughtered; it smells amazing!

When Jiang Shuwen opened his new shop, he sent a letter to the people at the old house, saying that since he had moved to a new place, he had to let his parents come and meet him.

Mu Yi'an decided to leave this matter alone; Jiang Shuwen had already made the arrangements.

The village has already given the order: get up early tomorrow morning, slaughter a pig, and bring it in as soon as the city gates open.

The pork was sold in the shop, while the bones, offal, pig heads, and trotters were delivered to Jiang Shuwen's shop.

The vegetable shop is doing quite well, managed by Manager Tong.

The vegetables from Jiangjia Village are also delivered; they are all freshly picked every morning and have already gained a good reputation.

Eggs, goat milk, and young roosters from the village have arrived one after another, and now pork is also available. The shop is fully stocked.

Now, I make a net profit of 100 to 200 taels every month, a steady stream of income, which is quite good.

The next day, just as dawn was breaking.

All the farmhands on the estate got up and, led by Uncle Li, headed towards the pigsty.

"Uncle Li, this one is the biggest, catch it."

Jiang Shuhe looked at the big fat pig, which must have weighed over two hundred kilograms.

The pigs on the farm have been raised for eight months, and the first batch already weighs over 200 jin (100 kg). Batch after batch follows, enough to supply our own shop.

"Okay, this is it."

Uncle Li also took a liking to this one; it was very plump.

"Xu Wu, Wang Lei, Wang Hu, and Shu He, hold him down. Jiang Hua, the two of us will tie his four hooves with rope. The rest of you, get some sticks ready, we'll lift the pig in a bit."

Xu Wu and his companions entered the pigsty, seized their opportunity, and...

The pig's hind legs were held down, while the others took the opportunity to hold down the front legs.

"Awooo..."

The pig was terrified and squealed loudly, its cries heart-wrenching.

With the help of several people, they held the pig down. Uncle Li and Uncle Hua tied it securely with ropes, while the others used wooden sticks to carry the pig out.

Aunt Xu has already boiled two pots of water, which are steaming hot.

The pig was placed on the chopping board, and Xu Wuhui slaughtered it. He directed the slaughter, and the others cooperated.

By daybreak, the pigs were all cleaned up.

Leave the pig's blood, and Mu Yi'an instructed that five catties of meat be left to be stewed together so that everyone could have a taste.

Xu Wu and Jiang Shuhe drove the oxcart, delivering the prepared pork and offal to the shop.

Manager Tong weighed the pig offal, pig head, and pig trotters, then the workers delivered them to Jiang Shuwen's shop.

Jiang Shuwen's shop also gets its vegetables from this shop, and the shop assistant delivers them to his door.

Jiang Shuwen needs to pay extra money, but that's a separate matter and shouldn't be confused with it.

Manager Tong instructed the shop assistant to pack the vegetables, pork offal, pig's head, and pig's trotters ordered from the food shop.

"Brother Xu, please deliver it to him."

"Alright, I'll deliver every day from now on. Don't be shy, Manager Tong."

Xu Wu was a slave, Manager Tong was a free man, and Jiang Shuhe was a relative, but they all worked for Jiang Niangzi and were very polite to each other.

After Xu Wu and the others left by carriage, Manager Tong had someone place the pork on the meat counter at the door, which had been prepared in advance.

When customers arrive, the first thing they'll see is their pork stall.

The oxcart arrived smoothly at Jiang Shuwen's shop.

"Brother Shuwen, the goods have arrived." Jiang Shuhe is two years younger than Jiang Shuwen and always calls him "brother".

"They're here, they're here..."

Hearing the shouts, Jiang Shu quickly ran out.

"Shuhe, you came today?"

"Yes, Brother Shuwen, Brother Xu Wu and I brought pork from the estate, and Dahai came from the shop to deliver vegetables."

Jiang Shuwen quickly went over to settle accounts with Dahai. His second sister-in-law's vegetable shop had most of the ingredients they needed, and delivered them to him every day, saving him the trouble of going out to buy them.

These vegetables were all delivered from Jiangjia Village; they're fresh and of good quality.

Dahai started working at the shop around the same time as Manager Tong, and now he can handle things on his own.

After checking the accounts and collecting the money, Dahai rode back home in the oxcart driven by Xu Wu.

Jiang Shuwen started making bone broth, and they did business at noon and in the evening.

Sister-in-law Cai also got up and went to make breakfast.

By the time Jiang Shuwen had started simmering the bones, the pig's head was already cleaned and split open. The pig's trotters were also cleaned, as were the other offal.

Mu Yi'an prepared two pre-mixed seasoning packets: one for spicy hot pot and one for braising.

Bring to a boil over high heat, then simmer over low heat.

When Li Qiuniang and the children got up, they could already smell the delicious aroma coming from the shop in front.

"Husband, is it ready?"

"No, there's not enough time yet, the pork offal hasn't been cooked."

Jiang Shuwen glanced at the large pot again; the bone broth had turned white, and the pig's head had also been colored.

Cover the pot, turn off the heat, and let it simmer for a while.

They locked the shop door from the inside and the family went to the backyard for breakfast.

Today is the first day, and I'm a bit overwhelmed.

After finishing her meal, Li Qiuniang took the two children to her second sister-in-law's house to practice martial arts before returning to the shop to help out.

Jiang's father, mother, third grandfather, and sister-in-law arrived at the beginning of the day.

"Third Grandfather, Father, Mother, Little Sister, you've arrived. Brother Shuqi, could you please drive the mule cart to the livestock shed next door?"

Jiang Shuwen said that the house he bought occupied a prime location, right next to the official road.

Mu Yi'an suggested that he spend some money to buy the nearby wasteland and build a simple livestock shed.

"Shuwen, you've made something of yourself, opening a shop in the county town! Good, good!"

My third grandfather liked to see the younger generation of the clan succeed, so that they could mentor one another and gradually the entire Jiang clan could prosper.

"Thanks to my second sister-in-law, otherwise, I wouldn't have been able to manage on my own."

Jiang Shuwen knew in his heart that without his second sister-in-law, he couldn't have run such a large food stall on his own. Without those recipes and ideas, what kind of food could he make?
