Everything is just right

Everything is just right

It's late at night.

The hustle and bustle of the day recedes like the tide, leaving behind a warm and tranquil atmosphere.

After seeing off Qin Zhou and Song Yungui, who were the last to leave, and reminding Xiao Jue and Lin Ye to be careful on the road, Qi Shuo and Tan Huaiyu escorted Sister Jin, who insisted on returning to her own place and said, "I won't disturb you two," downstairs and watched her walk into the night before returning to their new home together.

The door closed gently behind them, cutting off the last sound from the outside world. In the vast space, only the two of them remained, along with the occasional distant sound of the night wind coming from outside the window.

The air still held a faint aroma of food, mingled with the delicate fragrance of lilies and sunflowers, and the subtle, comforting scent of new furniture and wooden floors. All the lights were set to their softest setting, casting a warm, yellow glow over every corner, outlining the new home with exceptional gentleness.

Neither of them spoke immediately, but simultaneously let out a long, relieved sigh. After a busy day, their bodies were exhausted, but their minds felt a strange sense of relaxation and contentment after the initial excitement.

They stood in the entryway, exchanged a smile, and saw the same emotion and relief in each other's eyes.

"Finally... everything's done." Qi Shuo spoke first, his voice hoarse with fatigue, but more so with a sense of relief that everything had been settled. He raised his hand and rubbed his slightly sore temples.

Tan Huaiyu walked over and naturally reached out to massage his tense temples with just the right amount of pressure. "Are you tired? Go take a shower and relax."

His voice was clearer and more melodious than Qi Shuo's, and it was especially clear and gentle in the quiet night.

"Mmm." Qi Shuo grasped the hand that was resting on his temple, pulled it to his lips, gently kissed his fingertips, and then let go. "You go first, I'll go check on Ranran."

Qingran had already taken a shower, changed into her cute bear pajamas, and was sleeping soundly in her new room.

The pale yellow curtains were drawn, leaving only a small mushroom-shaped nightlight, specially chosen by Tan Huaiyu, casting a soft glow in the corner that was enough to dispel the darkness without being glaring.

On the bedside table, the rabbit doll that had been with her for so long rested obediently against the pillow.

The room was equipped with a simple monitoring system and a call bell, connected to Qi Shuo and Tan Huaiyu's mobile phones, to ensure they could keep track of what was happening here at any time.

The doctor said that in a familiar, safe, and well-arranged environment, Qingran is now able to try to fall asleep independently, which is also beneficial to her psychological recovery.

Qi Shuo gently pushed open the half-closed door and, using the dim light of the night lamp, walked to the bedside.

Qingran lay on her side, her small face nestled in the soft pillow, her breathing even and deep, with a faint smile on her lips, probably dreaming of something happy.

Qi Shuo watched her quietly for a while, his heart softening as if it were melting. He leaned down and gently tucked the blanket around her, then touched her soft hair to make sure she was sleeping soundly before quietly leaving and gently closing the door behind him.

The sound of running water came from the master bedroom's bathroom, and a warm yellow glow and blurry figures shone through the frosted glass door.

Qi Shuo didn't go in immediately. He walked to the French windows in the living room and looked out.

The night was deep, the city lights in the distance twinkled like stars, and the outline of the park nearby appeared tranquil and peaceful under the moonlight.

At this height, the world seems to be gently shut out, leaving only this peaceful little world that belongs to them.

The sound of water stopped.

After a while, Tan Huaiyu came out wearing a dark blue silk nightgown. Her hair was half-dry and damp, and her skin was slightly red from the heat. Under the soft light, she had a breathtakingly clean and alluring appearance.

He saw Qi Shuo standing by the window and smiled slightly: "What are you daydreaming about? The water's still hot, go take a shower."

Qi Shuo snapped out of his daze, his gaze falling on him. His deep eyes darkened, and his Adam's apple bobbed almost imperceptibly.

"Hmm," he responded, his voice lower and hoarser than before, and stepped over.

As he passed by Tan Huaiyu, his fingers brushed lightly against the other man's cool hand, sending a slight shiver down his spine.

The bathroom was still filled with lingering steam and the refreshing scent of Tan Huaiyu's usual shower gel.

Qi Shuo stood under the showerhead, the warm water washing over his muscles that had been tense all day, taking away his fatigue and quietly awakening some deeper desires that had been suppressed by the day's hustle and bustle.

He washed quickly, but his mind kept replaying the image of Tan Huaiyu walking out of the bathroom, and his heart was racing uncontrollably.

When he came out of the bathroom drying his hair, Tan Huaiyu was already sitting on the headboard, holding a book he had only read halfway through. However, his gaze was not on the pages, but rather on the hazy night outside the window, as if he were lost in thought.

The bedside lamp outlined the lines of his profile softly yet clearly.

Hearing footsteps, Tan Huaiyu turned around.

Qi Shuo only wore a bath towel around his lower body, and water droplets still clung to his body, slowly sliding down his firm and smooth muscle lines and disappearing into the edge of the towel around his waist.

His physique was the result of long-term physical labor and regular exercise, with every inch of his muscles exuding power. Under the warm lighting, he radiated a strong, aggressive masculine aura.

Tan Huaiyu's gaze lingered on him for a few seconds before the book slipped from his hand and fell onto the soft blanket with a soft thud.

A thin blush slowly spread across the back of his ears. But he didn't look away; instead, he met Qi Shuo's increasingly deep and intense gaze.

The air seemed to freeze at that moment.

The lively and warm atmosphere of being surrounded by family and friends during the day fades away, leaving only the tranquility of the night and the silent undercurrent of familiar yet longing flowing between the two.

The soundproofing in the new house is excellent. The night outside the window is deep and dark. The child in the next room is sleeping soundly, and the nightlight by the bedside dutifully dispels the unsettling darkness... All the factors that once hindered them or made them hesitate have disappeared at this moment.

This night, this space, belonged entirely to them.

Qi Shuo casually tossed the towel he was using to dry his hair onto the back of a chair and walked step by step toward the bed.

His steps were steady, but each step seemed to tread on Tan Huaiyu's heartbeat.

Tan Huaiyu didn't move, but looked up at him as he approached. In those usually calm and rational eyes, Qi Shuo's figure was now clearly reflected, as well as the undisguised, almost scorching heat in that figure's eyes.

"What are you looking at?" Qi Shuo stopped by the bed, leaned forward slightly, and placed his hands on the mattress on either side of Tan Huaiyu's body, enveloping him in his shadow.

The steam from the recent shower, mixed with a strong masculine scent, hit me.

Tan Huaiyu's breathing faltered, but he did not back down. Instead, he raised his hand and gently touched Qi Shuo's still damp, well-defined chest with his fingertips.

The skin beneath my fingertips is warm and elastic, and I can clearly feel the surging power and rapid heartbeat beneath it.

"Look at you." Tan Huaiyu's voice was a little tight, with a slight, almost imperceptible tremor, but his tone was straightforward and bold.

The fingertips traced the muscle lines of the chest, slowly moving upwards, across the collarbone, and touching the throbbing pulse on Qi Shuo's neck, finally resting on his chin, applying slight pressure to force him to lower his head even further.

With a slight hum of control, he lowered his head and, without hesitation, captured those pale lips that were so close to his.

This kiss was unlike any gentle or restrained touch before. It was filled with a long-suppressed, yearning desire, with an irresistible force and heat that instantly overwhelmed all of Tan Huaiyu's senses. Their lips and tongues intertwined fiercely, conquering and exchanging breaths.

“…A-Shuo…Qi-Shuo…”

The aftertaste lingers and lingers for a long time.

Both of them were breathing heavily, neither of them moved, but they held each other tightly, feeling each other's frantic heartbeats resonating in their chests, gradually returning to synchronization.

Qi Shuo didn't leave immediately. Instead, he lay down on his side in that position and kissed his temples and cheeks tenderly, whispering his name softly, each sound gentle and full of affection.

"Huaiyu..."

"Um?"

Tan Huaiyu was so exhausted that he couldn't even move his fingertips; they were sore and weak, but his heart was filled with a huge, overflowing happiness and peace. He buried his face in Qi Shuo's sweaty neck, letting the exhaustion and satisfaction overwhelm him.

"Does it hurt?" Qi Shuo asked in a low voice, his voice still hoarse.

Tan Huaiyu gently shook her head in his arms, her voice muffled and languid: "...It's alright."

After a while, he added in a low voice, "I like it very much."

Qi Shuo's heart softened completely because of those three simple words. He lowered his head and kissed Tan Huaiyu's sweaty forehead, tightening his arms around her.

“Go to sleep,” he said.

Tan Huaiyu snuggled closer to him, finding a more comfortable position, and almost immediately drifted into a half-awake, half-asleep state, mumbling incoherently, "...I have to get up early tomorrow...to make breakfast for Ranran..."

Qi Shuo chuckled, then felt a warm glow spreading through his heart.

He turned off the bedside lamp, leaving only a small nightlight casting a dim glow. In that faint light, he looked down at the peaceful sleeping face of the person in his arms, long eyelashes casting shadows under their eyes, and their lips still slightly swollen, proof of the passionate kiss just now.

Outside the window, the night is quiet; next door, my younger sister is sleeping peacefully; and in my arms is the love of my life.

This is the home they built with their own hands, this night filled with love and hope.

Everything is just right.

He closed his eyes, rested his chin on Tan Huaiyu's soft hair, and fell into a deep sleep enveloped by her familiar body temperature and breath.

I slept soundly through the night, with only the warmth of our embrace and the silent, deep flow of love.
