64. Mother and Mother-in-law
Assistant Zhou was horrified when he arrived at Lin Zhengze's house in the middle of the night. His boss and his girlfriend were slumped on both sides of the toilet, their bodies weak and their faces pale. An ambulance arrived and took them to the hospital.
What happened? All this happened because of Wen Hua's words, "Delicious food is all in the alleys." Lin Zhengze lay in bed, deep in thought while watching the drip. He should have left when he saw the waiter's dirty fingernails...
Food poisoning was not a big deal, but the next day when Lin's mother sent a video and saw the two weak people, she immediately flew over.
This time, Mother Lin came prepared to stay for a long time. She had two suitcases, one of which was half filled with food, and no one knew how she got through security.
Wenhua has heard many complaints from friends about the conflicts and inconveniences of living with her mother-in-law, and has seen a lot on the Internet, but she has not encountered any of them yet. Mother Lin has a really good personality. She is almost sixty years old but has a young mentality. Apart from urging her two children to go home early for dinner every day, she spends her free time taking her future daughter-in-law to watch TV series on Taobao and go shopping.
I know this internet-famous shop better than Wen Hua. I check in every now and then, take selfies with Wen Hua against the background wall, and even use beauty filters...
After Lin Ma stayed there for half a month, Wen Hua gained two kilograms of weight. Lin Ma's cooking skills are really good. Wen Hua posted on her Moments several times and many people wanted to spend money to eat there. She showed those comments to Lin Ma, and Lin Ma was so happy that she invited their colleagues to her house for two consecutive days over the weekend.
"Fa Fa, your mother-in-law's cooking skills are so good that she can start a food broadcast," said a colleague while wolfing down the food.
Lin's mother asked curiously what food broadcasting was, and Wen Hua showed it to her in the evening. Wen Hua found it interesting and registered an account to record it to try it out.
Lin Ma Canteen mainly teaches cooking. Not many people read the first episode and there were few comments, but they were all praises. However, just those few praises made Lin Ma happy for the whole night.
Wen Hua thought about it and spent some time on editing. She also mobilized everyone in the circle of friends to help promote it. Sure enough, it became popular from the third issue. Now, Lin's mother was completely addicted to it. She would hold her pad and reply to everyone's comments seriously every day.
"Oh no, I can't do it anymore. There are too many messages and I type slowly. Son, please help me reply," Mother Lin called to Lin Zhengze in the study.
Poor Doctor Lin spent the whole night with his mother replying to netizens' messages. The key point is that Lin's mother was too serious. She felt that a general reply of thank you was not enough. She insisted on listening to the targeted thanks one by one. Wen Hua looked at Lin Zhengze's deflated look and laughed so hard that she couldn't get up.
"Hey Wenwen, what was that live broadcast you were talking about?"
"Our videos are all shot before uploading. Live streaming is just like a video call. When you start a live broadcast, netizens watch you cook online, and you can see and answer their comments immediately," Wen Hua explained patiently.
"Then there's no need to reply to each one. When can we have one to play with?"
Wen Hua thought about it and thought that with more than 3,000 fans now, it was okay, so she announced the live broadcast time, which was set before lunch on Saturday.
Mother Lin was very excited and started to prepare the menu. She also kept muttering about where to buy what vegetables. She was busy going in and out. Lin Zhengze was finally let go. He sat down and hugged Wen Hua and kissed her, "What a good daughter-in-law."
Lin's mother came out of the kitchen just in time. Wen Hua felt a little embarrassed, but Lin's mother didn't. She poked her son's head and said, "Son, marry Wen Wen to me quickly. When I go back, there will be no one to accompany me to record the video, and I don't know how to do it myself."
"Then don't leave, stay a little longer," Wen Hua said.
On the morning of the day the live broadcast started, Lin's mother got up with her future daughter-in-law to prepare. Wen Hua had never appeared on camera before and was dressed casually. While Lin's mother was preparing, she opened a room and waited for people. Soon there were more than a hundred people.
By the end of the show, the number of viewers had reached 1,800, and some people were sending gifts. Wen Hua explained to Lin's mother that these all cost money. Lin's mother quickly waved her hands in front of the camera and said not to spend money, as it was not easy for young people to make money, so don't give her any gifts. The screen was filled with people praising Lin's mother for her good looks, good skills, and cute personality. They also asked her if she had a son who would be Lin's mother's daughter-in-law. Lin's mother said, "My eldest daughter-in-law is in my hometown, and my youngest daughter-in-law is taking a video for me."
The dishes cooked during the live broadcast became lunch. The three of them chatted and laughed while eating and then sat in the living room to watch TV. Mother Lin asked her son to read the messages and private messages to him. Wen Hua played with her phone for a while and then got up to go to the bathroom.
Wen He sent a WeChat message, and the screenshot was of their live broadcast page. When the live broadcast started, Wen Hua shared it on her Moments.
[I get along well with your future mother-in-law.]
【Why don’t you call your mother more often to show your concern】
【Have you ever thought about how your mother feels when she sees this video? 】
[Your mother has seen it and feels very uncomfortable]
[It seems like you just can't get close to your family, right? Will your future mother-in-law be closer to you than your own mother?]
......
Wen Hua squatted on the toilet and felt that she might be constipated. She put her hands on the keyboard and typed and deleted a line of words, but in the end she didn't send it out.
"What are you looking at? You haven't responded for a long time," Mother Lin asked her son who had not responded for a long time.
"Oh, wait a minute," Lin Zhengze frowned as he looked at the WeChat page synchronized on his PAD. He knew he should close it. Just now, WeChat popped up and he accidentally clicked it, took a quick glance and then continued reading.
A few minutes later, Xiao Ma's chat window popped up. Lin Zhengze clicked on it. The screenshots were of Wen He's words, sent by Wen Hua. At the bottom, Wen Hua said, "I just typed a lot. I want to ask, since I left home at eighteen to go to college, ten years have passed. How many calls have I received from my family to say hello? Since I was born, almost thirty years have passed. How many calls have I received from my family to express my concern?"
[You're going to call me useless, I know. Stop it, I'm going to sit in the corner and beat myself up.]
Xiao Ma didn't reply at all. Lin Zhengze flipped through many pages, but they were all unilateral messages from Wen Hua. He didn't see any reply from Xiao Ma.
He didn't look at the records, but he could roughly scroll through them and identify a few keywords, all of which were family-related conversations.
He couldn't help but click on Xiao Ma's circle of friends. The last post was more than two years ago. He took out his phone, searched for Xiao Ma's WeChat and sent a friend request:
[Hello, I'm Lin Zhengze, Wenhua's boyfriend. Can I talk to you? I'm worried about her.]
