9. Appearance and temperament

The family moved to a new house and Wen He gave birth to her second child. During the National Day holiday, Wen Hua booked a plane ticket home.

Wen He's husband's father is a single parent. It's good that there is no mother-in-law and fewer conflicts between them, but there is no one to help take care of the children. The eldest son is already in the first grade, and the second child is only a few months old. Wen He has been living in her parents' home for the past few years after marriage.

After returning home, Wen's mother naturally asked her about her boyfriend. Wen Hua was too lazy to explain more, so she simply admitted it and said that they had just started dating. Wen's mother was relieved.

Other parents worry about their children falling in love early when they go to school, and worry about their marriage partners after they graduate. However, Wen Hua has never had such worries since she was a child.

Wenhua only went back for five days. After staying at home for two days, she planned to go back to her hometown to see her grandfather. She grew up with her grandparents, so she naturally had a deep affection for them.

After having two children at home, there were children's toys and clothes everywhere, and the living room was a mess. The bedroom where Wenhua used to live became a room for storing sundries. Now that she is back and Wen's mother has cleaned it up, there is no place to put so many clothes, so she put them all on the crib in the living room.

On the morning of the day she went to her grandfather's house, Wen Hua was packing her suitcases when her mother came out wearing an apron and carried the clothes and toys piled up in the living room into her house one by one and threw them on her bed, muttering, "Finally, there's some space. There's been no place to move in the living room these days, and it's so suffocating." Wen Hua paused in packing her luggage, and then her father came over and pulled her mother, quietly blaming her for not being able to speak.

Wen Hua sighed, and when she looked up again, she saw Wen's mother coming over with an embarrassed smile and asking her what she wanted to eat. Wen Hua smiled and said she didn't want to eat anymore, and left.

The moment the door was closed, Wen's father's voice came, "Do you know how to speak? Your child comes back to stay for two days. What will he think if you say this?"

She actually didn't have any thoughts. Compared to her mother's words themselves, she was more afraid of the embarrassment of smoothing things over afterwards. They both hypocritically laughed and showed mutual understanding, one pretending not to have blurted out any inappropriate words, and the other pretending not to have heard it.

Sure enough, as soon as she got off the car, Wen's mother called and asked her for no reason whether she had arrived and how her grandfather was doing. They kept chatting for ten minutes.

After staying at her grandfather's house for a few days, the old man couldn't help but urge her to get married. She agreed verbally and didn't go out every day. She cooked and cleaned the house, as if she was back in middle school.

The day before she left, her grandfather held her hand and looked at it for a long time, then said kindly, "Your hand is bare. I see other children have rings and bracelets on their hands. I will buy you a gold ring to wear."

Wenhua insisted on not wanting it. Her grandfather looked at her and said, "Why don't you want it? Other people's children have it, but you don't."

"Yes, I did, but I didn't wear it back."

The next day when she left, her grandfather sent her downstairs. His eyes were filled with tears when they parted. Wen Hua couldn't bear to see him go, but she still got in the car.

On the plane back, Wenhua fell asleep and dreamed of her first year in junior high school. MP3s were popular in the small town and almost every classmate had one. At that time, her grandfather's salary was only one thousand yuan, so she didn't dare ask for one. One day when she came home from school, a classmate lent her an MP3. After seeing it, her grandfather curiously studied it for a long time. The next day, he took her to the mall and bought her a new one.

Unfortunately, she only had it for a few days and lost it during the sports meet. Wenhua remembered that she cried for a long time out of fear. When her parents called, she begged her father to buy her a new one, fearing that her grandfather would find out. Her father agreed, but ultimately did not buy her one.

The passenger sitting next to her opened the sunshade. The sunlight above the clouds was extremely dazzling, and Wen Hua shed tears.

After leaving the airport, she dragged her luggage straight to the mall and bought herself a ring.
